  1. Batter not, might make him Bitter (lemon).
  2. Crowds will pick up when we start winning more - thats the nature of the game, perceived value - at teh moment its been about spending £28 per two hours of misery.. As far as I am concerned, if protests bring about a home 3-1, lets do them every week!

  4. Sadly cynical, sadly quite true! ;-) But hey, come on Pan Cake, lets do it for the kids! PS, Your special week this week... are you traditional lemon and sugar, or something more modern?

  6. TBF, you can only beat who is in front of you - and we have been beaten more often than not by poorer sides than Preston this season, so either way its still agood result and an improvement!
  7. Would be nice... I will make an effort not to wind up Alpine and Stanley about how much I love Lowe (sic) ;-)
  8. The only thing I can think of is that maybe a little was lost in translation, or it was a cunning ploy on his behalf to get the passion going - knowing that us saints fans can take that into the ground the right way - or siege mentality thing, but wuith teh twist of it actually being aimed at our own fans? Or am I clutching at straws in my efforts to understand him? Whatever we won! ;-)
  9. I would add though SOG, that Pearson did only have 13 games - noty a long time to assess a squad, and start the moulding process, and you have to admit that the general vibe he created was good. I was always most impressed by the way he came across, intelligent, focussed and passionate, so its easy to see why he has a strong following amongst fans. Wotte will, i think need to achieve MORE to win over fanas and its VERY early days, but I would like to think that if he did keep us up and we did see improvements next season (mid table stability would be taken right now!) that it would give him a platform to build on and fans would back him.
  10. Agree to some extent, although could Euell also play a part in the centre of the park? BIgger preseence might help there?
  11. Congrats - it is good, must admit, even makes the tought of 5 days in the office bareable!
  12. Dont know the true financial picture, nor the details of contracts, nor which of the loanees fom the bigger clubs were actually having their wages paid by thier parent clubs for match experience etc... all speculation so pretty impossible to make a judgement on this. Naturally it would ahve been better to have had Saga's experience all season, goes without saying, but not sure we know enough of the FACTS to start all this speculation?
  13. Urban Myth... will never happen... ;-) So we won... surprised me no end, because I did not think we had cohesion in us. We dont have the worst players in this division, we have some of the least experienced, who have not jelled into a cohesive unit, mostly due to the constant changes imposed by JP, and it appeared Wotte was continuing in the same vein. Add to that, a lack of fire power upp front and naive defending and its no surprise we are where we are. Has Wotte found a winning combination, i hope so, but its too early to start judge him at this time... an away win at Cardiff and I might start to believe we can avoid the drop. BUt a big question: Last seaosn Pearson did miraculously well in taking on a demotivated side that was almost resigned to relegation, turned it around and kept us up. For that he was rightly given the plaudits and i think we all agree he thus deserved his chance to see what he could do with us now. Lowe went a different route, risky but I can just about understand its merits, if not totally the reason why. So if Wotte does keep us up, last game or before, will he be treated equally as fans have reacted to Pearson? Will he deserve a further year next season, or will there be a lingering issue about his appointment - because it was Lowes' or because he is perceived as haviong no experience iof the engllish and especially the CCC game?
  14. TBH I think its allsimply done to what fans perceive as value for money - its why when in te prem we usyually sold out - more expensive but considered better entertainment because of the quality on display - added to by additional corporates and quite a few STs held by tickting agencies etc. when we first came down, we losty those who considered it expensive for 2nd tier football, and alot of these corporates. Its declined simply because ogf teh poor performances and laack of results making it usually an expensive way to be miserable for 2 hours. There are bound to be some you have stayed away because of Lowe in protest, but I dont think these numbers are that high, and i suspect most of these would also return if we had some success even if Lowe was still here - its more the misery of poor results and the continued problems that keep these fans away. We also have the financial situation, so folk are going to less games or alternating which kids get to go. Whatever happens next year, would like to see the club do more on the price front. The question is, even at a £5 cheaper, what impact would this have on the gate iof we are still struggling?
  15. Sadly its not everyone - Saint Billiy says "The only thing I am looking for is the day that Lowe and Wildes names are not associated with this club. Up and till that day I will rely on my memories of when this club was truly Southampton FC, when it was a united and proud club, when on its day it could beat the best, when I could look up at the directors box and respect the people in it. Until then, this club does not deserve our time, money or support. If it means that the only way this will happen is by relegation and admin then so be it. "
  16. And that Whitely is really all that anyone should expect or ask. I salute thus post!
  17. Sorry strange post that.... Have never denied that I was hopeful that the JP thing could work, and that the plan had some merit, it has not, so I was wrong, it happens so dont get the point. Of course they are true fans - although there will be a fair few hangers on as these things do also attract the kids with nothing better to do. And if you bothered to read my post I aint apologising for him, he was wrong/stupid and illadvised - but I do believe that you lot crying about this is in this very OTT way quite pathetic really - its hardly an insult - but it sure does provide ammo to kick him with.
  18. It really does begger belief... sorry but its true.. if you read it, you might not agree with it, but its nothing - yet we have grown men (?) crying on here that its so out of order, insulting etc..FFS ... you do begin to wonder if 'the lady doth protest to much' i n this case. We all know that the only thing that should matter is 3 points - well almost all as the Saint Billy post shows - "The only thing I am looking for is the day that Lowe and Wildes names are not associated with this club. " That is what he is adressing aand I have to say on that point about 'wanting us to fail' he is right. Of course he is wrong to publically ahve a go in general and if folk want to protest its their right etc, but what is he menat to think when he sees things like the quote above?
  19. Is this what witte was referring to then.... "The only thing I am looking for is the day that Lowe and Wildes names are not associated with this club. " Quote from a thread below from Saint BILLY So Wotte does have a point of sorts.
  20. OH MY GOD WHAT IS ALPINE GOING TO DO WITH HIMSELF UNTIL WISEMAN SPEAKS!???? ... er best not answer that, this afterall a family forum... ;-)
  21. Think thats sort of sums up what a few of us were alluding to ;-) more humourous to!
  22. Indeed.....
  23. And if there was any chance of it achieveing this I am sure you would get 15000 me included...
  24. Of cousre he should really keep quiet on such things, but to be offended by what is actually not exactly an 'untrue' statement seems a bit silly
  25. If under 'consultation' or if they have been offered a compromise agreement and are considering the implications of signing it or not and their next steps, they will still be under the meploy of the club at this time - which is suggested by the fact that there is as yet no agreement - so the only additionla thing that could be said is that they are technically still employess... but there is not point in this as it simply confuses the issue. best to say nothing until its resolved in all parties interests. The thing to realise is this: If they have been treated badly we will hear about it as they will feel what is offered by the club is inadequate and thus wont sign any CAs or NDAs. These things always take time to reach a conclusion that everyone is happy with, and therefore its best played out in private. It helps no one to speculate about it on here.
