love it, just sent my mail to Monaco

I truly congratulate you. You were the only aspect of today's game that I felt pride in. Well done boys and girls. I have been sitting at home getting wound up by my two daughters (7 and 9) teliing me how "we're not very good, are we Daddy" I know it's only football, I know it shouldn't really matter, I know I am a truly fortunate person to have my health and life ahead of me. Why does it hurt so? why can't I be logical and rational? why cant I support another team? Why can't I stay away on Monday? Why do I feel as if someone had died? I need help. God knows how the faithfull feel after actually being there COYR

Check out the facts or ask him, but dont asume anything. There is no dinner - tickets are £20 and I'll happily buy his wine for him. I think he would drive to ST Mary's without claiming 20p a mile. There is not a deeply divided fan-base the overwhelming majority of fans were anti-Lowe. By the way, the whole evening will not be about the recent events, they may spend some time talking about the time when people who were connected to the football club cared passionately about it and reminisce about happier times in an attempt to make people feel better about the SH1T scenario we are in.

Say what you like about any of the above, I'll be there paying and contributing. They are all giving there services for free because they care and people will pay to see them and are interested in a no-holds barred Q&A session. They probably don't waste their time being abusive and derogatory on cyber forums.

best present ever....My missus bought me a limo and 5 hospitality tickets for me and my mates, we will be in the Micky Channon getting well and truly lashed!! The spirit of Southampton is back COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fancied a bit of a treat for the Swansea game with my boy and a mate. I sent an e-mail and got a hell of a shock when I got the response. I was offered space in the Bobby Stokes suite at the above price - unbelievable! So the option for the three of us was to pay £387.50 for a 2 course buffet and complimentary beer (no concession for kids that can't drink the booze!) or £54 in the Northam and buy your own. Guess which option I took. Mind you, they said the Mick Channon suite had sold out so the season ticket promotion must have worked. £130 per person for the lowest level hospitality against Swansea in our current predicament - what has the world come to???

Good luck Ed all the best for a speedy recovery.

A mate of mine who is a Celtic fan sent me this link. Click on the video box to watch the 6 a side match with Katalinic, Holmes, Nichol, Williams, Keegan and Ball. Saints are on about 3mins 45 seconds in. Brought back some memories.... enjoy... http://www.kerrydalestreet.com/page/Daily+Express+Five-a-Side+Challenge+Cup?t=anon

probably done before, but all the neagativity is really getting me down! For me it was Barry Horne's late equaliser against Bolton in the FA Cup , I was just about to leave with all the other non-believers when he let fly. To this day I have never left a match early because of this. Although I was tempted at 3.0 down against Watford this season.

No it is about the business being a going concern, something the auditors were at pains to state it was at the time they auditted the accounts due to the support of the creditors. This is one of the most precarious financial statements I have seen.
-
It's a good point although the administrators, who will be appointed by the creditors, will be duty bound to get the best possible deal for the creditors. It is safe to assume that a number of people will be interested "at the right price" and dear old Rupes will have some competition.

What is the highest number of users on this forum at any one time? What is the total number of registered users? How many different users have posted in the last 12 months or so? Interested in terms of this site being a vehicle for potential protests as well as generally interested. Thanks in advance.

You are missing the point. I am not saying that we are just about to enter administration, simply that effectively we are operating in the same way. The bank have more to lose than anyone if we did go into administration, so it is a fine line between trying to keep things operating (not selling players) and keeping the debts low (having a say in certain activities). Also we have tried selling at least one of those players - the fact is that there are no takers many CCC clubs are in a similar position to us and, in my opinion, not one of those players would get into a prem team. Anyone that was wanted has already gone

No, not at the moment. I am sure that a number of different options are being discussed right now. As my post said this may or may not be one of them. Cheers

...or at least in driving Lowe to call it, in my opinion. I posted around a year ago that we were effectively in administration and was mocked somewhat. As the financial mire has deepened and become public with the announcements of the result this position has been accepted. The bottom line is that we are effectively in administration in all but name. We cannot do anything without Barclay's support and I expect there to be at least weekly, if not daily interaction between the bank and Cowan. I am sure the bank are very concerned after events all round at the weekend. Dont forget in the bank's (as well as Lowe's) eyes we are purely customers and all the indicators are that the business is self combusting> I believe they are very worried about the debt and will actively discuss how things are going to change with Senior Management. The above is based on my personal experience of running PLC's that are bigger than Saints and being in the same position rather than an understanding of the goings on between the board and Barclays - just for the record!

Guys, earlier in the seaon we were playing six or seven players with very little first team match experience, look at the team sheets from Blackpool or Barnsley at home as an example. This team is significantly different. I actually believe in a number of the initiatives, but not playing a majority of highly inexperienced players at the same time combined with an inexperienced manager. How come we can afford this kind of blend now, but didnt field this kind of team at the beginning of the season?
-
Great result and well chuffed for the boys and the 500 odd hardy souls who were there! Is this the end of the experiment and the myth that our wonderful academy is the only way forward? We only had 3 "home grown" players on the pitch and 3 on the bench. Has his lordship realised that the gamble is over and we need the blend? I'm not saying that the future for the young lads isnt bright, just that most of what I've seen from the nippers simply isnt good enough right now for this league. I looked at the team before the game and really fancied us for the first time in a long while, hopefully that kind of selection will continue.

into a 15,000 stadium!! I've heard this from a couple of sources. Not overly reliable ones to be honest and I would certainly not claim this as fact, but alledgedly this is being discussed as a plan B. As a result of our situation, I do think it's fair to say that the board must be contemplating a number of options for administration and or relegation. The stadium (land) is probably one of the few assets we have although I cant see who would buy it. Having said that we have a mortgage on it, what would happen if we just "gave the keys back" and got rid of the debt? Serious, non abusive replies only, please ;-) Sorry if this has ben posted elsewhere.

Preston 2-3 Saints - You've Gotta be Havin' a Laugh
bigdavewatson replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
fair play to the boys and the fans that went. Apparently all shirts were thrown into the fans area - whoever got them deserve them. Very proud today and glad I have kept the faith in OUR playing staff. -
out of the many (well documented on this board) that I have is....... what the **** happens when the players we have on loan go back to their clubs????? approx 30% of the players we used yesterday go home in a couple of months time. The problem is that we still are well stocked with journeymen, albeit they seem motivated and are young - the basic flaw is the same with the Idiakez's of the world - they aint good enough.

11 Brits on the pitch in red and white..
bigdavewatson replied to bigdavewatson's topic in The Saints
yeah but, does anyone know when the last time that happened - 11 Brits. I would hazard a guess, not being one of the historian chaps, that since Golac we have had a non-British player in the team continuously. There is every likelyhood that come Saturday v Cov we will have an all British starting 11.
