  1. Mine come first hand from one of the first team players (one who’s in favour), so yeah…. just shit stirring.
  2. Fair enough! I knew there was something not right about the way he left. The rumour going round was that they had a fall out. I’m sure they did by the sounds of what you’ve said, but not on Ralph for this one. To be honest, I think it’s 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other with Ralph to be honest. He comes across as a decent bloke and one that cares for the club. I think he probably has an ego and is stubborn which, when coming into an environment where he has to deal with others who have massive egos, it ends in a clash. Ive said before, but one of the reasons he wouldn’t do well at a big club.
  3. Very different having a discussion with the manager before you’ve signed, to working day in day out.. especially when things get tough. It’s pretty common knowledge that when he was here, Rohl was effectively the main go to for the players and was the bridge between Ralph and the playing squad. Fell out with Rohl as well didn’t he…
  4. 100% true. Know a bit about this one as well. Ralph amd Armstrong had a big bust up when Ralph tried to explain why others were playing ahead of him, to which Armstrong told him exactly how he felt. Armstrong not the first to fall out with Ralph. I know ings wasn’t too impressed with him when he left as well, and obviously Broja…
  5. Me either, looked crap and not the type of player we need. let’s hope this is true and the links are wide of the mark.
  6. Fergie had the pedigree to back it up, Ralph on the other hand is known for losing 9-0, twice…
  7. This is such a stupid argument. The whole team went off the boil, the service to hIm and Adams was non existent. £25m is a steal and would be a huge blow for him to go to West Ham. He’d do really well there imo.
  8. I know he’s not the only one in this boat. Ralph has fallen out with a couple of players. Wether that is justified or not, I don’t know. Probably 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other, but I know Ralph isn’t universally liked. One of the reasons I don’t think he’d succeed at a bigger club.
  9. Wether you’re into it or not, no one can deny that the standard (even more so at the saints girls level), is nothing short of pathetic and inline with a Hampshire league team, if not lower. For that reason alone; it’s a massive no from me. Didn’t the USA women’s team, who are apparently deemed one of the best in the world, get spanked by an U-15’s team 😂😂😂
  10. I can’t for the life of me remember where, but I’m sure I saw that the reason the club didn’t announce was because they were fearful of fan reaction… which in itself is completely bizzare
  11. Or if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
  12. On the face of it, this sounds a really good shrewd appointment. However, slight reservations in that there is a big difference between picking the best youngsters, with unlimited funds, to sit in your academy. To having to find players who are PL ready on a pretty tight budget. But it’s a clear sign of SR’s intent and strategy. I like the sound of it.
  13. Yes, unless Rice was available. Phillips is massively underrated on here, probably because he’s taking JWP’s spot in the England squad. He’d really suit City.
  14. Pretty much how I see it.
  15. But we all know it’s because he’s cheaper…
  16. Ridiculous we aren’t all over this.
  17. It’s the winter World Cup that’s fucked up the cycle. 2 of these nations league games would have been played November time. Basically, blame Fifa.

    Danny ings return

He’s significantly better than what we have. That being said, I’d rather we spent a little extra on Broja or Dennis. If we could bring him back for something in the region of what we paid for Armstrong, which would effectively mean we sent him on loan to Villa for a season for £15m, that would be cracking business. Very much doubt he’ll end up back here though. Would still be a solid back up option to Kane at Tottenham imo.

  20. Doesn’t Bissouma have a sexual assault allegation lingering about though? Probably knocked a bit off his price tag. (disclaimer, I don’t know if they have been dropped yet).
  21. It’s really fucking strange, isn’t it. Some are so invested in ‘the Southampton way’ bollox, that anyone over the age of 28 is practically seen as on their death bed. I genuinely think that some believe that unless you’re Young and hungry, you won’t improve us. When in recent years, those who we signed that were young and hungry , ended up being total shite (Djenepo, as an example). Eriksen is a proven PL player with bags of ability. He’d improve nearly all 20 teams in the league… which is why he won’t come here, not a chance.
  22. Makes you wonder how much Armstrong would be worth, given his higher ceiling and all that!?
  23. I’ve had/have total confidence in semmens, Crocker and co. Up until now, however, if we go into next season with McCarthy as our no1 and this noddy as our no2, then I will have lost all confidence in them. Incredible incompetence to let Fraser go, but extend McCarthy. They either both had to go or McCarthy had to (assuming we’re not gonna sign a first choice this summer).
  24. Glad to see the “hand picked” owners are showing their ambition and intent with aggression in the transfer market. It would just be textbook Southampton to have a rebuild and make ourselves weaker as a result.
  25. If Turks has the same source as me.. which I think he does… all i can say is keep an eye out for a plane from Madrid and new members at Southampton Muni golf course. Make of that what you will.
