In true BBC fashion, here they are massively over celebrating the most unimpressive things in the name of diversity and inclusion. “Beckham Esque” more like Dave down Green park on a Sunday. Perhaps they’re just surprised she managed to get the ball off the floor? Could you imagine this was proper football, ignoring a 2v1 in favour of a 59 yard shot resulting in you sticking the ball miles wide and over. Shambolic 😂

I think JWP and maybe KWP will go next summer and we’re effectively spending that money now. At the aggressive rate we are buying players, young with potential, we shouldn’t need to spend too much next summer. Maybe a player or 2. I would expect us to have a little clear out this summer, not to the level of what we’re spending but we’ll probably clear the wage book a little. Like you, I’m not sure of his value, but it’s not going to be £40m. I can’t see a club paying over £25m for him. He’s worth more to us than anyone is willing to pay, imo.

It’s yet to be seen how he fairs within the men’s game, which is a different kettle of fish to sweeping up all the best youngsters. If he’s as good with us as he seemingly has been at City, then I’m sure one of the big clubs will want him before long. At that point, it’ll probably be too late to keep him.
-
From what I’ve seen, he’s got links with the young lads at Chelsea. Certainly seems bang on the money nearly every time. Let’s hope he has some influence over them and starts to send them all our way, I wouldn’t mind us being Chelsea reserves, that’s for sure.

Looks a very different type of player to Broja…. More like competition for Adams rather than playing with him. Wouldn’t mind him and a loan (Broja / delap?) to compliment Adams and Armstrong… or is that just greedy.
-
I guess they just attract a different crowd, predominantly women and kids. That’s great for them as it’s their target audience, who’ll they’ll hopefully inspire to play the game…. It makes a horrible watch though.

Is that one a goer!? I had that filed under “tabloid nonsense” when I saw it. Wouldn’t come cheap, would signal serious intent if we pulled it off. thought he was holding off for AC Milan.

Besides the quality of football, It’s the soccer aid esq crowd which is the biggest turn off for me.

Was probably playing a lot of golf last season. That or made a ton from ‘insurance’ betting.
-
£6m seems an absolute steal and a no brainier for a player with European experience. Especially when you consider he had a low buy out clause and we’ve just paid £12m for a young lad who’s not played a first team game. Well done all involved.
-
Good player, good signing. Probably the only player we’ll have, other than Armstrong, that will allow us to play a genuine 4222 with two genuine 10’s. £10m a bit of a steal in this market. Good business.

Managed to get a sneak peak of the 3rd kit this morning, I won’t give too much away but imo it’s one of the best we’ve had in recent memory. Not sure when it’s going to be announced but I think they have it, so would assume it will be soon.
-
In fairness though place were a better team than us last season, especially in the final 3rd. Not saying I disagree, but I do suspect Armstrong would have scored more there than he did here.

The ignore function on here is a little like ‘gym selfies’ and working for the NHS. If you haven’t told everyone about it, has it really happened?
-
Funny enough, I’m the opposite. Had one for as long as I can remember, dating back to the dell etc. But I gave it up a couple of seasons back (for a variety of reasons), and I don’t think I’d ever get one again. Not in the PL anyway.
-
What, absolutely fucking rubbish?
-
In which case…. buy him and loan him to derby
-
Unless JWP is off, we don’t need him. More than happy with our business so far, hoping we’ve got a bit of budget left for some real game changers up the top of the field.

If we wanted to be a real modern progressive club, we could have used the stripes to our advantage and had a Rainbow flag’d shirt, especially with it being pride month, that really would have got a few likes on the bird app. However, this does present an opportunity for us to show our progressiveness on the Terraces, in the form of a new song. Rule Southampton, our new shirt has the waves. We love non-genders, bisexuals and gays. I’m sure @Turkish would approve.

The thing is, if he goes to Newcastle on 7k a week for 3 years + sign of fee’s etc., then he’s pretty much set for life, regardless of what happens (providing he doesn’t spunk it all) He could easily stay here on presumably half or less than half of that, and pick up a career ending injury and/or never make the first team. I don’t think you can blame him, to be honest.
-
West Ham is my bet. Can’t seeing him coming back, especially if those 2 are interested.
-
To be fair, so is Kante, but he wears 7. But agreed, 8 is probably the ‘right’ number for him, but 7 holds a bit of prestige for us and you’d have to say he’s probably the most influential player for us.. seems a natural fit. Although; Like someone else said, if he wanted it I’m sure he would have been given it.
-
JWP for me, should he want it, of course.
-
Yep, kinda how I see it. Im sure I saw somewhere that we would look to bring in experience along with youth. We’ve not seen much in terms of experience with the links I’ve seen, which is a worry. If we’re in the shit come Christmas time, which could easily happen, I’d fear that a team full of kids might not have the know how or savvy to get us out. Time will tell.
-
Yes and no. He could also go to Newcastle, earn enough money to basically be set for life and in 4 years time break into a side who are competing for the title. If he doesn’t, then he’d likely still get a PL move anyway.
