  1. You’re surely joking? Our defence, other than maybe the Liverpool game a few years back has been absolutely appalling. And I’m sorry, but beating a Pretty average L1 side in a routine 4-0 win, isn’t really something to consider an achievement or shout home about… The bad, far outweighs the good imo.
  2. Can’t say I know much about him, but a little read from what I could find on Google and I tend to agree. I don’t think it would be a huge shift from how Ralph (at his best) had us playing and likes a back 3, which we’ve tried a few times this season. If I’m honest, I think it’ll be Steve Cooper.
  3. Agreed. I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for the bloke (I know he’s going to get a multi million £ pay off, so I shouldn’t), he clearly cares about the club and is clearly a decent enough bloke. Arguably had the hardest job of any of our managers in recent years and has done an ‘okay’ job, but the writing has been on the wall for a while. He had the added pressure of being massively overrated by many of our fans / cult following ‘ralphampton nonsense etc.’. I’m sure he’ll get another job and do well elsewhere but I’m not sure he’s the right fit for us at this moment in time. The second 9-0 was the turning point for him imo. Completely lost his way after that result and ultimately, will be known as the manager to lose 9-0 twice. I’ll Wish him luck for the future.
  4. We were obviously watching a different game, AMN was appalling. Doesn’t look like a CM to me.

A warm welcome to the forum, Matthew Le Tisser!
  6. It’s a really interesting point Valery made about confidence. It’s probably why we go on ridiculous bad runs of form and crumble under pressure. When confidence is low, Ralph doesn’t have the skill set to lift it. It’s a big issue.
  7. If I was as poor as Bednerak and was being selected as a first choice for a PL side, I’d be right up the managers arse as well…. Weird that Bednerak didn’t want to stick around amd play under a manager of his skill set then, isn’t it!
  8. Your TV is on its way out or your colour blind?

    Claude Puel

Not the debate I’m having. I already said I wasn’t a fan of Puel. Personally, I think he’s on par with the alpine Flopp, just wasn’t as ‘trendy’ so didn’t get the same grace as Ralph. My point is that getting to a final and getting to a semi final or the equivalent of each other. Clearly, getting to a final is a bigger achievement than a semi final.

    There’s a reason it’s an alternative view….

Yes okay, if you say so. Clearly a pointless debate.

    Claude Puel

I mean, I was not a huge fan of Puel and don’t really see getting to a final (and losing) as an achievement, but clearly a final and semi final aren’t equivalent.
  13. Looks like he’d be great in the ‘front sweeper’ role….
  14. This will be Ralph’s last game, imo. After a disappointing, uninspiring, 2-1 loss.
  15. Disagree. If anything, they can say “we backed him in the summer with new coaching staff and a huge (for us) net spend in the transfer window. Results / performances aren’t improving, so we feel now is the right time to make a change”. I think it’s probably clear to all that the new men brought in aren’t Ralph’s men, as such, and we’re found / appointed by the club. It would be a fairly simple transition for a new guy to come in with maybe 1 new coach, of their own choice.
  16. And this is exactly why people call those who support Ralph ‘a cult’. People seemingly don’t care about on field performance and care more about the manager looking ‘trendy’ or being nice. Personally I couldn’t care less if Brendan is twat. Appointing him would give us stability in the PL and improve our chances of finishing top 10 or even in Europe. That being said, I think he’s nailed on for the Villa job, should it come up.
  17. Women’s football belongs in the lounge, not topics as important as this.
  18. Lucky you. I got a week long ban the last time I done that.
  19. I’ve not seen many advocating Dyche or Moyes to be fair, both are better managers than Ralph, but probably don’t suit the philosophy of the club. Rodgers would be perfect however. If you don’t think he’s an improvement on Ralph, based on nothing other than a bad start to this season, then you’re completely deluded.
  20. Yep, nothing has changed. He and JWP still can’t play together.
  21. Ha! Touché.. but no; I think Ralph’s time is up. I’m not sure he’s right for us. I’m sure he’ll move on and do well elsewhere, but I don’t foresee it being here. I Agree with this. It always frustrates me when someone says ‘x’ manager is poor because he was relegated or ‘y’ manager is past it because they're struggling this season. There are many factors which may cause a team to lose form.
  22. It’s a really daft and simplistic way of looking at things. Poch was sacked with Espanyol bottom of the league, was he out of touch… Even Sir Alex was under pressure at one point.
  23. Both would be a huge improvement on Ralph, Rodgers especially.
  24. Ralph or any manager for that matter, will have an input on who we sign and targets within our budget. If he can’t get a tune out of players in our budget, then let’s get someone in who can then please 👍🏻
  25. Not very well, either.
