Had they not signed Eriksen, I think they’d have been in a lot more bother than they were. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they drop. Between them and Leeds and arguably Everton, they’ve all got weaker this window. Bournemouth haven’t spent much and have a championship team Imo and I don’t know much about Fulham. perosnally, I think everton will be fine, then it’s a toss up between the promoted sides and us, Brentford, Leeds and maybe Brighton in terms of who goes down.

As a full package, considering you’re getting a 15-20m+ player for nothing, it doesn’t work out to be all that bad. However, it’s the break in wage structure that’s the issue. It’s a shame as he probably could have his pick of clubs for anyone outside of Liverpool, Chelsea and City, if his wage demands weren’t so high. Badly advised is probably an understatement. If Forest are willing to cough up for him, then fair play, he’ll go a long way to keeping them up and they’ll have (on paper) a pretty decent side, with a very good manager.

I don’t know a great deal about either of them, they look alright on the highlights reels from what I’ve seen. Delap is unproven, but we do have Adams and Armstrong who’ll both need to step up as well next season.

An incredible ending, I thought I’d seen it all in 2019 with the wold cup final and Stokes heroics in the ashes cup but this matched those for drama. Incredible of Ellis to compose himself and hold his nerve at the end after thinking they’ve won it.

Delap and that lad out in Germany we’ve been linked with, would be a very good set of replacements for Long and Broja.

So do we now compare to men’s football, or don’t we… I’m confused.
-
I’m sure there is heat maps etc. To back me up or prove me wrong, but from what I’ve seen on us (in the flesh), out of possession, Romeu is the one who plays more advanced trying to win the ball higher up the pitch.

Doesn’t look like a sell out to me.. plenty of empty seats scattered about from what I can see on the box.

I’m with you, I like him. Tidy player. My only reservation is he’s tidy, but a bit of nothing. He could do with a bit extra bite. Sorta what JWP has developed.

I know footballers tend to own a number of properties, for example Steve Davis still owns a place down here - but if true RE Broja, then that’s a good sign. Colwill….. from what I’ve been hearing (from people close to his family), he’s keen to come back. I think it’s dependant on if Chelsea let him go or not. Basically, if he’s Free to leave, I would put a fair bet on hom coming here. Can’t seem dembele and not sure he’s the type of character we want. Very good player though.

A real David vs Goliath clash. Anyone lucky enough to have managed to get a ticket is in for a real treat. I’ll be sniffing around outside hoping that I can get one from a tout…. Or bump into Sue with her spare! Failing that, I’ll be looking round town for a pub quiet enough to get a decent view of the TV. Expecting the watering holes around town to be packed to the rafters! Will be keeping an eye out for saints starlet Laura Rafferty.

Interesting thread and a debate I was having with a friend not all that long ago. Ive had a couple of relatives who’ve spend a fairly lengthy period of time in the hospital recently, 1 in the general and another private. If I’m honest, the NHS is on its knees especially when compared to the private hospital. Everything was better from the food to the ‘customer’ service from the nurses. Not all of course, but for some reason those that work for the NHS seemingly think they’re better than everyone else and don’t get me started on the increased pay argument. Long and short, NHS is a great idea but it’s not moved with the times or demand. Massive change is needed. How we get there, I don’t know.

We don’t compare the men’s and women’s game in this thread, no sir. Take your destabilising posts to the lounge. but in a serious note, that stinks of match fixing

I have to say, it was brilliant athleticism by the keeper to get down low to save the penalty as it was really struck with venom. Im surprised the BBC haven’t made more of it, if I’m honest. A “Rooney esque” penalty saved by a “Gordon banks esque” save. Upon reflection I was pretty harsh on the girl last night. Everyone knows, those that bounce back to you in your stride, with the goal gaping and 3,000 people watching, are one of the hardest in the game. A tricky XG of 2.5 for that one I believe. After such a display; one can only assume France will be the team to beat. Brimming with confidence. Knocking the ball about like 1970’s Brazil, a joy to watch! The Belgians looked good, but I do find myself questioning if there is enough diversity in the squad to handle the pressure of The later rounds.

Possibly one of the worst misses I’ve ever seen…

Keep the badge please… all new modern ones look shit.

Coming from the geezer who earlier today dug up a year old thread to try and do a funny…. Which failed spectacularly.

And those who use the saints web ignore feature…

Given the elite professionals aren’t setting the world alight, god forbid what they’re dishing up at Sue’s park level.
-
Oh Sue, please offer us your spare. I’m absolutely gutted to be missing out on such a prestigious, once in a lifetime, event.
-
Right, so they got shown up and then all of a sudden ‘weren’t trying’… LOOL I guess none of these were trying either…
-
I disagree, the USA lady’s lost to an U15’s team ffs. Any competent grassroots side would run rings around any women’s team. Especially if given full time training and a carpet to play on.
-
😂😂 are you still going on in your pursuit or trying to convince people. Give it up pal.
-
Did we try and keep him? I.e match the offer at all? If he’s gone for c.7k, that’s not much for a first team player (if we rated him that highly).

1 out of a thousand… Chelsea, in recent years, have produced loads of players playing at the top level. All across Europe.
