  1. National management is a different skillset to club management. Zidane, reasonable enough shout based on CV. Although I'd want to see him do something with someone other than Madrid (why hasn't he taken another job - waiting for France?) and I doubt talks english and/or be interested. Low & Tuchel both German and I'd rather win nothing than a german win it for us. Low lasts 2 tournaments as Germany manager were a disaster. Poch, won nothing and is an argie (see above). Xavi...? Other than an underwhleming stint at Barca, what on earth has he done to warrent the job. You've just shown that you're after a big name rather than the right name.
  2. Its more on a personal note that I think he'd offer us something and for such a minor fee or shall I say considerable loss, I'd rather we kept him and threw him on when we needed a goal. But I do appreciate hes a deprecating asset and we've probably ruled out ever playing him.
  3. if true, disappointing.
  4. He had success with this group of players (or soon to be group of players) at the euro-u21's, by that alone, he's achieved more than any other home nations manager in the PL. Unless Pep or Carlo come along (or the FA grow a pair and appoint someone like Jose), he's the best option for us.
  5. I think you're probably right, there were some strong links to suggest as much if I remember rightly. Although, whilst that sounds like a 'what could have been' - we done pretty well in the end when we replaced JRod with Mane and Lambert with Pelle.
  6. Lallana and Paul Wotton dream team. All jokes aside, it'd be really interesting to see his sytle of management, he's played under some pretty influentual managers in Poch, Klopp and Di-zerbi.
  7. Provding Martin can cling on a season, Lallana will be our next manager, I'm almost certain of it. He'll defo be caretaker if / when RM is booted.
  8. Both have way out performed THB this season. Perhaps there is / was a reason why Burnely didn't sign him last season?
  9. Those similar faces can accept relegation, its bloody hard to survive in this leauge in your first season. What they can't accept is 3 defeats without even landing so much as a glove and making the same silly mistakes, trying to play a way which isn't suited to newly promoted sides. As seen last season by Burnely.
  10. for having an opinion?
  11. He wont be sacked, we've just given him a new deal. Terrible decision from the club.
  12. Given we're a side that has lost 9-0 in 2 consecutive seasons, that's clearly a load of bias nonsense. I also wouldn't at all be surprised if we shipped 9 or more again this season.
  13. I'm not shitting the bed, I said its light hearted fun. We've lost pretty comfortably to 2 of what will be the worst sides (outside of the 3 promoted teams) and against 10 men. Imagine how bad it'll get when we actually have to face a half decent side. I'd be interested to hear where you think we'll pick up 12 points from, based on what you've seen so far. That's no incounting a manager change btw - I mean specifically under Martin, playing this way.
  14. Minds made up. Whatever Martin is telling us to do, not that. It doesn't work. FWIW, you're not gonna get a sniff of his missus knickers by clinging onto his arse.
  15. Perhaps you're just highliting that, as many of us said last season, Martin isn't a very good manager. Likeable bloke, very, very average manager.
  16. What's incorrect? they kept the ball and had a structed way of inviting the press, so that when they could play through, they did with pace and directness. Not silly little 2 yard aimless passes (i.e passing for the sake of it), see Bednerak and Mccarthy as an example. The trouble is, we're 'inviting the press' and passing it straight to them.
  17. finding the balance of playing a possession based style but progressing through the 3rds with pace and directness. Everything we're not 👍
  18. Which if he does, that's all we can ask for. I've doubts about his ability and tactical nous, but hes deserved a crack at this level. We need to find the balance of playing a possession based style, but not being painfully wedded to a system, which is causing us to lose games. Imo, we need to be a little more direct and have pace on the counter. That doesn't mean a lump up to a big man, but playing through the 3rds wih 2/3 passes, rather than knocking it about at the back invting the press. De Zerbi's brighton were a great example of that.
  19. We're continoulsy passing it backwards because at this level, players are faster, stronger and more intelligent and managers are tactically more astute and don't allow us to play / dominate. Its delusional from him.
  20. He is though. Its his fault we're playing silly passes in / just outside the box, when being pressed relentlessly. Its everything he is trying to get us to do. 3 games, 5 'indivual' mistakes leading to goals, all off the back of trying to play a way he wants us to. Against, might I add, 3 of the poorer sides.
  21. Light hearted fun with serious undertones. I honestly think Derby's record is going to be beaten this season, I think we could be on for the first ever single digit season.
  22. He's not learning anything. We've lost at least 2 games now because of the way in which he is enouraging and enforcing the way he wants us to play.. which at this level, were not good enough to do. All he had to do was look at Burnley (who imo had a better squad than we do) last season to see that his style is not transferable for a newly promoted side. If we had either of Frank or Nuno in our dugout this season, we'd be on way more than 0 points this season.
  23. Seen enough already. He's shite - Championship player.
  24. I was very vocal last season in that if we went up, it was in spite of Martin, not because of him. We had a significantly better squad than all but 2 other teams (and still finished 4th). By virtue of having a squad that much better they dragged us out of the mud a few times and shadowed his limited tactics. If we don't change things up and stop passing it about for the sake of passing it about, it'll border on negligance. Especially as we saw that its not transferable from Burnely last season. Honestly, I'm stuggling to see where we'll pick up a point, let alone a win. Why did we give him a contract before seeing if he could cut his teeth at this level (which to be honest, was obvious he wouldn't). If things haven't changed by the end of september (i.e style), lets bite the bullet and bring in Moyes.
  25. unfortunatley he'll be back with us next season when we're relegated.
