KWP is off in the summer and there is a major doubt about how Tino will recover after 2 significant injures and 12-18 months out. Its not inconceivable that he’ll be back up RB come next season in the championship.
-
I suspect that is partially why they all went for him, trying to get a reaction which would spark a straight red rather than second yellow (3 game ban over 1 game). As others have said, it’s part of football. JWP done it to zaha many a time. Shame it wasn’t Lyanco who got sent off, might have helped us.

Would Willy be any worse? I’m not sure he would, really don’t see what Bazunu brings to the table. We play with a mid/deep back line, so we don’t need a ‘sweeper keeper’ like we did under Ralph. Willy’s experience might help our CB’s pick up their man as well.

I’ve no fucking clue what bollox ‘PSxG’ means, but I’m guessing it means out of 100 shots, he should have saves 23 of them. He’s conceded 32 of 77 shots, which kinda proves, he’s fucking rubbish.

Avoid. This one stinks of another Che Adams / Adam Armstrong.

We’re a better team when Adams doesn’t play. his hold up play slows us down, we’re more effective on the counter without him. Not sure Mara is the answer but I’d give him a go for a few games. We cannot afford to allow Adams to waste opportunities time and time again. One of the biggest reasons why we’re going down this season. -
It won’t take long for the negativity of this group to rub off on him. Give it a month and he’ll be Slow and ponderous like the rest of the wasters. Looks a good player though, just what we needed in there to be honest.

At this point, I think Jones should just do it the way he wants to. He clearly wants to play a back 5 and play long balls from back to front. Give him some money to buy a big fucker up top that suits his brexit style of football and some old school, no nonsense CB’s. Fuck why the fans say, fuck what the current players say, we’re going down anyway so you may as well do it your way and give us the best chance of staying up. He’s definitely added more agression to our game, but we still make mistakes/switch off at the back (just general dip shit players tbh) and have absolutely no style or way of breaking teams down. He’s a disgustingly average manager managing a group of disgustingly average players. Is he the man to bring us back? I don’t personally think so, but we’re stuck with him now, so may as well had back him.

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

He really is a terrible player, isn’t he. He’s only in the squad because of the way Jones wants to play, in that he can hit long diagonals, slighter better than anyone else… they’re still fucking terrible. -
Semmens has destroyed this club. This season is on him. He hand picked SR, likely to save his own job. He decided to keep Ralph for as long as we did. He (as I understand it) fucked up a few deals in the summer for penny pinching. Talks a good game, had me fooled under Gao with his ‘we can’t afford to compete bollox’. His whole mentality is negative “we should be lucky to be here” I can’t wait for the prick to go.
-
If he’s any good he won’t be. I mean I actually support the club and given the choice id jump ship at the minute. We’re a fucking mess.
-
Is anyone genuinely surprised? The same thing happens every single window. We’ll end up with no one or a token loan and the shit will be spouted about it being a tough market, everyone over priced etc. This club is a fucking joke at the minute and we deserve every thing we get. I couldn’t care about not getting this Jackson fella fwiw, if only real links are us and Bournemouth I’m not too convinced he’s any good anyway, it’s just we as a club have a rotten mentality.
-
To be fair, the whole bigger club comment from Bednerak doesn’t really bother me. He’d just signed for a new club and they always spout that sort of shit and to be honest, he’s right, they are a bigger club. My biggest concern is that he’s just really not any good. He’s on par with Lyanco in terms of being a liability. Id have much rather we recalled Stephens of the 2, who’s a decent bloke and could cover at RB like Lyanco has been playing. It’s a concern as I think it highlights the desire to persist with a back 5.

I watched the first minute of this and I have to say, as Fay as YouTube videos go, this is up there with the worst. He looks absolutely terrible. I don’t care how many he’s scored, if the defending is like that of this vid, I could score a load as well. will struggle like mad in the PL if we signed him. Let’s hope we stay away
-
We’ve all seen how this goes, haven’t we. At what point do we get the “January is a tough market” & “we’re happy with our options” shit from Jones / Semmens. Loads of tenuous links but no real substance.
-
An interesting and clearly hypothetical / unrealistic question, but would you swap KWP for Trent if offered? FWIW I absolutely wouldn't. Trent would get torn a new one at a club like ours where he’d have to defend for 90% of the game. There are only probably a handful of clubs in which he’d actually do well tbh. He’d suit city down to the ground, given the way they play with full backs tucking in to make extra CM’s.

Yep, the personal abuse towards jones, in the stands, on social media and on here was an absolute disgrace. I really hate the idiots that follow our club. Jones was on a hiding to nothing from the get go, we, the fans didn’t want him. Mostly because he wasn’t a trendy name and Luton aren’t a trendy club. That being said, he was manager of the season in the championship last year, if he came with a Spanish name and had coached under Pep most would have been delighted. Personally, I was kinda on the fence, but leaned more towards the out camp, especially after the Brighton and Forest games which were some of the worst football I think I’ve seen. I feared he was out of his depth and tbh, didn’t think it was a great appointment. I’m still not sure it was, but he’s done enough to warrant the end of the season now, for me. My major concern is his management style, whist improving, doesn’t seem to suit our transfer strategy of young kids from a city style of play. Although, Lavia seems to have adapted pretty well, so perhaps that concern is nonsense. Personally, I think anyone who came in after Ralph had a difficult job. We have the fundamentals of being a decent PL squad, but we simply make too many individual mistakes and seem to lack any confidence. Like it or not, the rot (lack of confidence) started with Ralph a long time ago and it will be deeply imbedded in the squad. It seems that as a squad we are learning and adapting to Jones style, I think a large portion of the early poor performances were not understanding his system, which obviously isn’t a great reflection on him / his coaching - but seemingly, something has changed and we seem to have gone back to basics a little. Inthink we’ll still go down under Jones, I think we would have under 90% of the managers we could have appointed, but I’m starting to like what he brings to the table. Aggression, fight & desire.
-
I don’t disagree, FWIW. But today he had a thankless task. I think he actually done okay today. I can see why he starts
-
That’s a shame, he’s a good player. Used wrong under previous managers there.
-
As @egg and I were saying. First half we was effectively playing as a wing back. Unfortunately, some are so blinded by their opinion of him, they wouldn’t see that and just brandished him as shit.
-
A player I wouldn’t mind us taking a look at, to see if we can pinch on loan or a reasonable deal, is Scott Mctominay. Would provide vital cover for Lavia in the deeper midfield role (not his best position though), but would be a real solid option in the “8” next to lavia. Would add physicality and ability to drive forward, which diallo doesn’t do consistently enough for me. Onana today absolutely bossed the midfield, especially in the first half, we need someone with a bit of physicality in there.
-
Okay, I’ll rephrase, he’s currently shit for this level. Nowhere near good enough. Lucky we didn’t concede a second from his pathetic attempt to come and collect the ball. Absolutely no better than McCarthy and significantly worse than Forster.
-
At fault or not, He’s still shit.
-
I was referring to the comment around the players having a word with him. But to be honest, I don’t think fans singing “your football is shit” would have gone completely unnoticed. In fact it wasn’t as he referred to it. 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other I suspect.
-
The players, especially JWP pushing Jones towards the fans at the end. Ive no doubt the squad are behind him. Like him or not, think he’s out of his depth or not, he’s taken criticism onboard and has changed. We’ve improved as a result. For that reason, I’m Jones in. I still don’t think he’s the man to keep us up, but I don’t know if anyone could to be honest. We make too many mistakes in both boxes.
