An absolutely mind boggling decision. It genuinely makes absolutely no sense. ABK I kinda get, he’s been out needs game time. Djenepo, meh. Orsic, I could also understand, he’s struggled to adapt to the PL / our system. DCC, absolutely nothing positive at all can come from him playing today. He must be match fit or at least fit enough to play, he’s our best CB. He could easily get an injury here, for absolutely nothing. We’ve just played with 3 CB’s and he was ‘rested’, why the fuck is he playing today? Jones has started to lose his marbles. Not good.
-
Possibly, or it could be that Monaco wasn’t a great fit for him. They were a bit of a mess at the time and on a cowards trend. Certainly not the club they were a few years back. IIRC, Kompany wasn’t a raving success at Anderlecht.
-
He’s done a really good job at Boro, all be it in a short space of time. Naturally, someone with as little experience as him would be a huge risk, but then again so was Jones and I don’t think it could get any worse. Personally, if we’re going down the unproven route, If / when we drop, I’d like us to take a hit at Henry. Very highly rated as a coach with the Belgium squad.
-
££ stupid amounts of £ for an unproven player. We can’t blame the club for this one, especially when clubs like Chelsea come in offering wages to a 17 year old with no experience, that lower end championship players would be on. It takes a certain type of lad to turn down the sort of money branded about for him, which’s set him up for life. As you say, not much we could do.

A couple of points to put this argument to bed. - Tino wasn’t / isn’t our best player who we literally cannot play without. - KWP is / was equally as strong if not better than Tino. - We weren’t rock bottom desperate for points to stay up, where you cannot afford to rest your best player.

I thought it was strange that Lavia played that FA cup game. I can only suggest Jones saw it as an opportunity to win to keep up his win %

1. We seem to have an affiliation with Man City, signing a lot of their younger players (not a dig), who have been coached in a particular way. What was the recruitment process for identifying Nathan Jones as manager, who seemingly has a completely opposite style. 2. Throughout this season, we have seen a tendency to try and move towards a back 3/5. It started with Ralph and has been continuously tried by Jones. Is there directive from above, I.e you, that this is our preferred formation? If so, what is the short to medium term plan to develop a playing squad which is suited to this formation. As currently it’s clearly not.

Yes, which is why this thread is booming every single time we play. Hardly like people are picking the bones off a unlucky defeat after a great run
-
It’s extremely naive to think that it’s just a striker that’s our issue. It hasn’t helped, but we’re still piss poor. Worse than before in fact. That’s on Jones.
-
No. I’ve always said and maintain that Tella isn’t good enough at this level.
-
With good reason Tbf. It was bloody obviously a terrible appointment from the get go. The warning signs were there following the Lincoln game and we’re even more bloody obvious after the forest game. No one would ever convince me that Nathan Jones was our only / best option. It’s ridiculous to even suggest that.

Surely you’re on a wind up 😂 -
McCarthy KWP ABK DCC Perruad Alacraz Lavia Winger JWP Winger Adams Salisu has been i liability for a while. Have left wingers as Tbf, they’re all shit. Haven’t included new lads as don’t know if they’re any good.
-
Have we had a weaker CB, actually defender, in our PL history? I’m not really sure we have.
-
Newcastle didn’t have a chance when they were 3-0 up on aggregate and were happy to see it out, which they did with ease. Just admit you were wrong Nathan and you cost us the game.
-
A back 5 can be really effective if you have the right players and it’s coached well. We don’t have the CB’s to play this formation, all are far to vulnerable in the channel. We cannot play it again this season, it has to stop.
-
Bednerak was fine tonight. Better than Salisu. But agreed, we need to play players in the right position and that includes Lyanco nowhere fucking near the side.
-
Fuck of you complete waste of space. Absolute Liability who belongs nowhere near a premier league / Championship side. Somehow, we’ve downgraded on Jack Stephens with this idiot.

Anyone know if he will miss the final, with it being a 3 game ban? Hopefully I hate the cunt. Would love to see United tear them a new one as well. Newcastle fans up there with Everton for me. Wankers. -

He’s been shite for ages. To be Frank, he’s just as much a liability as Lyanco at times. -

Why does Salisu get such relief on here. He’s been terrible for fucking ages. -

I bet they’re shitting themselves that the infamously dangerous SFC will find their second gear. -

Agreed. it must be difficult to play next to Lyanco and Salisu, both are far too frequently all over the place. -

Bree looks better second half. Hasn’t had to dO much defensively, maybe that is why. -

It’s not at all surprising though. We’re a shitshow everytime we revert to a back 5. we all knew it was game over when we saw the line up. Why didn’t Jones?
