  1. Admittedly I’ve seen very little (actually nothing) of Swansea and very limited of Martin, so maybe not in a position to comment, but that goal for MK Dons (50 odd passes), for me was not entertaining at all. A good 40 of them were sidewards and backwards. Dominating the ball is obviously a good thing, but look at the best teams that do it (City or even Brighton) it’s with a purpose into midfield and driving forward. Time will tell, but from the very limited I’ve seen from YouTube etc. I don’t think Martin plays in this way, time will Tell. If we do go up, we’ll need to adapt for the PL though, we’ll get picked apart with ease at a higher level.
  2. Opposite in terms of style but as an appointment I’d argue very similar in terms of risk and disappointment from the fan base. The idiots at St Mary’s are going to hate his “entertaining style”. Passing it around the back with no purpose and taking unneeded risks in our half.
  3. Mental Manji hasn’t got a clue, Davey boy. We’re gonna be stuck with Martin. Be amazed if we make the play offs.
  4. Based on their records and what they’ve achieved in management, I’d actually say he’s worse than Jones. Whilst it was underwhelming and clearly not going to work based on the players we had and position we were in, Jones earned his right to get the chance in the PL.. had it come in the summer, who knows if things would have been different. Jones wasn’t right for us but he built the foundations of this Luton side which could now be in the PL. He was manager of the year in the championship and had a record of overachieving. Other than passing it around the back a bit, I don’t see anything that makes Martin stand out as a manager that has enough about him to take us up and keep us up. Desperate to find a young ‘upcoming manager’, will result in the same as spending all last summer buying young ‘upcoming players’. It’ll be a disaster.

Exactly. Other than perhaps Leicester and Everton / Leeds, we’d have to be one of the most attractive options in that league. A ton of cash and a chance to literally build a squad to push for promotion this year or next. It’s a pretty exciting project imo.
  6. On that subject, I like the look of that Ricky-Jade Jones. Wouldn’t mind us taking a punt on him next season.
  7. Martin is a big risk (one I think will back fire, badly), but how have you come to the conclusion that Schumacher is the best man for the job… That would be another massively underwhelming appointment. Personally, I can’t see past anyone other Vieria.
  8. It’s the European version of the JPT. Pointless tournament, but winning it gets you a place in the Europa league next season, so if you’re in it, you may as well had try and win it.

Off the back of all this talk around SR wanting us to move towards a ‘possession based style’ has really got me questioning if these clown actually have a plan. It feels like they’re just completely winging it at the moment. We obviously want to move away from a ‘high press / counter press’ philosophy, the ‘numbers’ probably suggest keeping the ball is better % of winning, or something silly. But we kept Ralph in the summer, then we went back to Ralph v2 in selles. I think it’s clear, from our summer transfer activity and senior appointments in Shields then Wilcox, that we want to base ourselves on the way in which city operate, which is fair enough. But why on earth did we appoint Nathan ‘anti football’ jones? You’d hope that the new DOF will have the autonomy to structure the club in the way in which he wants, so we’ll have a degree of a plan (I hope), but at the minute we’re just throwing shit and hoping it’ll stick. We’ll obviously never know who else was interested in us and on the face of things, these looked like a solid ownership group, but as things currently stand, semmens has royally fucked us by hand picking these idiots. (Excluding Dragan from that, he’s also been fucked probably worse than us).
  10. You need to sign players to suit your philosophy. We haven’t, it’s why we’re shit. Brighton are a fantastic example of signing ‘system players’
  11. Keep the kids as far away from this poisonous bunch of cunts as possible. Take a look at them pre-season, don’t destroy their confidence now.
  12. I think that is more to do with how far we have regressed. Neither we’re good enough to nail down a starting position for us and rightly we’re moved on for their own development. Players like Lallana, Morgan etc benefited from us being in the lower leagues and as a result it being less difficult to break in and nail down a starting spot. Even Our current poster boy for the academy struggled to nail down a spot and was nearly sold to Watford. Ballard, doyle etc. will greatly benefit from us being in the championship next season.
  13. I’ll renew and I’m really looking forward to it. Less day trippers (hopefully), no VAR and hopefully a few more wins will make it a much better experience. Im sick of the PL, I’m glad we’re out of it from a fans perspective, if I’m honest. Not expecting the overall price to drop, would imagine it’ll stay the same. They’ll justify it by saying the price per game has dropped given the increase in games.
  14. If we appoint Martin it’ll be a lot of sidewards passes, loads of possession, look tidy but little to no end product, we’ll get hit on the counter and draw / lose as many as we win. It’ll be a disaster. You can only play like City, Barca etc if you have the players and creativity to do so. You don’t get those players in the championship. It does make me a little sad we’re moving towards this possession based approach this season rather than last, because Lavia would have been fucking phenomenal (even better) at it.
  15. Probably had Semmens in the interview room telling him we’re lucky just to be in the championship. What a bunch of cowards we have in senior roles at this club. If we genuinely don’t believe we can offer a project more appealing than Boro, then fuck me, what’s the point. No disrespect to Boro who are a similar sized club to us really, but given we were an established PL club with what should be a huge budget for the championship, we should have other championship managers licking their lips to come here and rebuild for a promotion push ffs.
  16. Because they were working at youth level and were offered a very senior role at a PL men’s club. It’s a no brainier really, huge promotion for them both.
  17. Not a bad shout. Especially if their interest in JWP is genuine.
  18. I’d imagine you’ve seen little to nothing of Middlesbrough or Carrick to make a judgement on his coaching.
  19. I could see a world where he return in some form of coaching capacity, probably not as a player though. Always thought Fonte would make a good manager and would manage us at some point.
  20. Besides the obvious improvement in Playing style, Carrick was also a fantastic, Elite player where Jones was a cart horse at Yeovil. You’re a young player at a club, who will you instantly have more respect for? A mumbling mess from south wales shouting passion and aggression at you, or someone who’s won it all at club level and has a progressive attacking style of play.
  21. Yep, point I was going to make. Alcaraz and Smallbone should be more than sufficient in ‘the 10’. Dack has never been the same player since his ACL injury, as well.
  22. People were saying he has all the attributes to be a world beater. I guess we’ll never know, but has he not suffered a terrible injury, I suspect he’d be leading the line for Chelsea now.
  23. meh, that’s elite level football. Without spending billions it’s impossible to compete, so fair play to them. The thing is, city have spent a fortune of course, but they’ve generally (Haaland aside) brought very, very, very good players who pep has improved and made elite. I like them.
  24. Incredible how our useless pieces of shit are going to be the only fuckers stopping this side win the lot. We deserve relegation for that alone.
  25. City have been absolutely phenomenal in both legs of this semi final. this deserved to be the final, the quality is beyond belief.
