  1. Fair - hadn't realised that you'd signed a couple more CB's.. What are your thoughts of Harwood-Bellis? Was a main stay in your side last season, wasn't he?
  2. West Ham surely have to be the worst negotiators out there. 'Walking away' after 2 offers then offering a 'take it or leave it' the next morning. I think they're massively underestimating JWP's character here. Disappointed he might be if he doesn't move, but I cannot see a world where he downs tools. So in response Sullivan - We'll leave it 🙂
  3. Harwood-Bellis the the one we should be going all out for. I'm very, very surprised that Burnely haven't signed him..? I'd be delighted with Harwood-Bellis, Stephens, Bednerak, Awe as our 4 CB's next season.
  4. Saw he was linked with Napoli yesterday. Either way, i can't see him being here come the close of the window.
  5. Terrible attitude and mindset for someone who was playing on a dust patch in Ghana until he was about 20. Has the raw attributes to play at the very top, will probably do well at Monaco, but not the type we need. Good riddance, lets hope we have a decent sell on % for him.
  6. Heart says do it! Do it right now! Head says, he was on loan in Aus last season, so clearly isn't at the level we need. He has, or maybe had, the attributes to be a perfect fit in Martin's system. Unfortunately they're probably gone now.
  7. In fairness, I think there are at least 10 really decent sides in the PL now, with the emergance of Villa and arguably brighton. I do hink brighton's time at the best of the rest will die off very quickly though, much like we did.
  8. Anyone who is putting money on anyone other than Leicester is an idiot. They'll piss the leauge this year and at 4/5-1 that's pretty decent value, for what I'd consider is a banker.
  9. Agreed - He's had 2 seasons as a manager. 1 which was pretty poor at Anderlect the other which was pretty decent at Burnely. Looking at their squad as things stand, I think they lack the quality needed for the PL - especially if they want to play a poession based attacking style. They'll ge picked apart by most sides up there. Given that they're absolutely desperate to sign Tella (but not pay a fairly nominal fee), It doesn't look like they're doing much to add the quality needed for that level.
  10. Funny enough, I was thinking earlier about next season and who was in danger and it made me realise how poor the PL will be next season It seems to get weaker year by year. I can't for the life of me see a world where Luton or Sheff Utd stay up - Neither have really added a great deal of quality to their squads and in Sheff U case, they're even weaker than last season. Luton, Sheff Utd, Burnley, Bournemouth, Forest, Everton are at least 5 really weak sides. I thought Bournemoth would be in real trouble after the friendly as I was really uninpressed, but I genuinely think it'll be harder than not to g down next season. I'm going for Luton to get the lowest ever point total, if they don'y Sheff Utd will.
  11. Can't help but think he has another 2-3 years in him, but if he wants to go out at the top - he's made the right call!
  12. Incredible series, one of the very best. 2-2 probably the right result on balance, but I'd say England have been the stronger team, Aus maybe slightly wiser. All set up for 2 years time - the Aus team will look very different. Hopefully Wood & Archers body will hold up and we find a spinner. I think we could be bringing the Urn home with us!
  13. They've also signed a young keeper from City, who's not yet played above league 1... what could possibly go wrong there...
  14. Yeah, after this, I'd be telling them the price has just increased by £5m, now offer us all upfront or simply fuck off. Anything over £15m for him is great value anyway, imo.
  15. If you were part of the Circle of Trust, you'd know why it is obvious.
  16. That poster could easily charge for his valuable insight, but he doesn't. If you can't be trusted with the power of information that's you're fault. Don't try and ruin it for the rest of us. Sounds like there has been some real movement in the club over the weekend and I'm grateful to be privy to that!
  17. I'd say its fairly obvious that at least 1 of Tino or KWP will be off - probably both.
  18. IMO Aarons is the exact type of player we should be looking at - championship experience and good enough to take a step up. Obviously a downgrade on Tino, but anyone we signed would be. Its certainly not as big a downgrade as I was expecting at RB (can also cover LB, similar to KWP) and given the figures banded about, it would be stupid to not sell Tino if we can bring in someone of Aarons pedigree as a replacement.
  19. According to Nixon, Leeds are after Harwood-Bellis. Valued at £15m, was a stand out player for Burnely last season and captained England U21's this summer. If true, we should be all over it. Would be a great Salisu/DCC/ABK Replacement.
  20. I reckon we'll conceed more than e score.
  21. we bossed the game, but scored no goals and got hit on tghe counter to lose 1-0. I don't think that'll be the last time i type that this season. We look a lot slicker, but still lack any quality in either box. Based on what I've seen pre-season, I think we'll be play-offs maximum next season.
  22. Its going to be really amusing when revisiting that thread come the end of the season. I can't wait to see how the West Ham fans take to him when they realise he's basically just a posher version of Mark Noble who has a decent free kick.
  23. No to Lavia, yes to JWP. Tino.. Not sure, i'm probably starting KWP regardless. But its an interesting point and one of the reasons I've been banging on about just getting deals done for the lesser players and taking a hit. At some point we need to start thinking about who is going to be in our squad come next season. Even if available, I'd be leaving anyone who's not willing to stay here at home (and tell them to not bother coming to the training ground). Regardless of who they are.
  24. I'd be only willing to sell if they throw Downes in (even if its just a season loan with an option). As many have pointed out, we don't need the money (I'm not sure I believe it, but thats the negotiating line the club are taking), but someone like Downes would be the missing bit in our midfield next season. Great player, who'll make us more solid defensively.
  25. Did anyone assume Martin was a Rasmus appointment? I thought it was pretty clear that Wilcox had a strong input into our new manager. Jones was Rasmus choice though.
