  1. defensively he is a weak link. I'm not sold on him. No an upgrade on RP, imo.
  2. I wouldn't be against it. I think it'd make a lot of sense and would give us a lot more cover defensively for Mannings weakness. However, based on his interview when joining the club, it sounds like he's here to play CB.
  3. I meant KWP could shift across to left back, should he not leave. I think we need an additional RB even if we keep KWP. As I said, its a long season. I'm actually not sold on Spence, to be honest - I think we missed out on Aarons by not moving quicker - the above about KWP playing LB is an example of how you could accommodate both.
  4. What point are you trying to make here? Still not sure other than just random ramblings. What relevance does how much I saw of Manning last season, or how many goals Swansea conceded have to do with anything. I've already said 'from what i've seen' i.e 4 games and pre-season this season.
  5. On the balance of probability he wont be come the end of the week. We'd know that, incoming players would also know that. Even if he was, he could easily play LB with <new> playing RB.
  6. The only position I think we could be stronger is CM. As things stand, their front 3 is miles stronger than ours and probably Leicester. If they keep that side, they'll be in the top 2 without a doubt.
  7. Is it impossible for us to bring in a RB and keep KWP? the championship is a long season, many Saturday / Tuesday game weeks, its a big ask to expect a full back, who probably do the most running in the side, to play every game. Bree obviously isn't the answer or up to the task, so we're a touch short at RB. Had we been a little more proactive, we might have signed our first choice in Max Aarons. Funny enough, the same could be said about the obvious Adams replacement...
  8. Not sure what your point is here. I'm just stating what i've seen. He's alright on the ball going forward, but defensively offers us little to no cover. He's slow and is always caught out of position, too high up the pitch. It could be the instructions given by the manager, but he looks way below the level of KWP, especially defensively. Full back is an important position for us and my point is that its not 'easily replaced'.
  9. I couldn't disagree more. Look at Manning who was a stand out player at left back last season, yet we get ripped apart week after week down our left side and we've not even played the better sides yet (other than maybe Norwich, where we conceded 4). Likewise with Bree, another who was a stand out at RB, but is absolutely rubbish.
  10. Keep Che, KWP and Sulamana and I think its been a pretty decent window tbh. Most concerned about losing Che and KWP as I've not been impressed by any of the links we've seen in those positions
  11. It'll likely be the same as when Salisu, JWP, Lavia, Tino, Perruad <insert any obvious person to leave>. Tella and Adams now leaving is not the same as the above.
  12. When will the departures end!?!
  13. I don't mind it - it does make you look a bit of a tit when we concede a minute or 2 afterwards though.
  14. must be another reason why everyone is rushing to get out then..
  15. Absolutely no chance he'd drop to the championship. He was the one I wanted us to look at in January.

    Che Adams

I've been a big critic of Che over the past few years. His finishing has been appalling and imo, is a big part in why we find ourselves in the championship. However, he's clearly a cut above the championship, as already shown and I genuinely think he suits Martin's style down to the ground. Feels like he's playing with confidence at the minute and keeping him would leave me confident of challenging the top 2. Had he started against Norwich, I think we'd be 4/4 right now, such is the impact he has when he comes on. I have my doubts if he's the answer longer term, but I'm desperate for him to stay this season. We're not getting anyone in who is of the same quality as him for £12-£15m or whatever we sell him for. If Stephens is out for a while, I wonder if the prospect of a season with the armband will encourage him to sign a new deal..?
  17. Though Bednerak was absolutely brilliant, lead by example and other than maybe 1 mistake early on, showed the diffence in experience / non experience of him and that Armstrong up top for them. Overall a pretty poor performance and we were lucky to get anything from it. Game changed when we brought on Mara and Fraser and allowed AA to drop deeper. We cannot play AA through the middle as a number 9. Nothing on him, but he's just not suited to it and it kills us.
  18. You're missing the point. Piroe, proven to play through the middle as a number 9 alone and score goals. AA can't do that, mainly because of his physicality - we've tried it all of pre-season and 2 of 3 games this season and had to bring Che on to save us.
  19. We clearly don't have as much of a pull as you think. Manager rejected us for Leicester. Piroe, rejected us for Leeds. Players who have contracts have no say in their future until they no longer have a contract.
  20. How about we put our foot down and dont sell then....? Goals win games, we're selling guaranteed goals and will replace with workhorses with little to no ability.
  21. So as things stand, we've broken even and have PL money coming in as well. Why do we need to sell Tella, Che and Sulemana then?
  22. Please can everyone stop banging is pointless drum. We might spend a bit of money to replace him, but it'll clearly be absolutely nowhere near the same level of quality. With every person who walks out the door, our squad gets weaker and weaker.
  23. Piroe is 6ft and has a physical presence. He can play up front alone - he and AA aren't the same. I still do not see any valid argument as to why a club who has made £150m couldn't buy before they sell.
  24. I genuinely cannot be arsed to check, but it's probably similar to Leeds and Leicester who have seemingly (despite us being told how skint Leicester where at the start of the window) spend money. SR are wolves in sheeps clothing. Rasmus is a complete and utter fraud and on current display are no better than the Chinese bloke who, because of law, couldn't actually spend money.
  25. I cannot wait for us to rock up at Leciester in 2 weeks time with the mouth watering prospect of Edoize, AA and Fraser as our front 3. Something that will strike fear into every single defence in the league. Incredible their manager decided to turn us down, when he was guaranteed to win the net spend trophy and have a front 3 like that
