Millwall have come, defended well, made it hard for us and we don’t have the answers. Far too one dimensional, no plan B, all round just really really shit.
-
I’m going for him to be sacked this time next year when we’re firmly in the ‘Martin Zone’ of mid-table
-
Not more defensive, Stephen’s is practically playing as a cm. Still wide open, don’t you worry.
-
Promotion all together. We’ve been found out, we’re not going up. staying down is probably for the best as we’d get absolutely embarrassed week after week in the PL
-
Thank christ for that. I can only imagine the state of this forum if you weren't too tight to pay a fiver. Although, to be fair, it would cost you a pretty penny to have a membership for all your accounts.

Assumed when I saw this thread that he had found himself a coaching job. But in true saintsweb fashion, you never fail to amaze.

2-0 for Russell Martin's flat-track bullies.
-
He's such an unusal player. Lighting quick and could beat anyone in this leauge 1-1. Yet, he likes to slow the play down and get into areas where his pace and skill is nullified. With someone like Adams dropping in and holding the ball up - someone like Sulamana should be licking his lips at the space inbehind - he just doesn't make those runs.
-
I wonder if there is any chance he could be fit for a cameo in the play-offs? Could be the difference if we can get an hour out of him over 3 games
-
Given the teams we'll likley face in the play-offs, we'll need to be faultless in those as well.
-
Its been pretty obvious how to beat us all season - the 'blue print' was set in september. The difference is, we're now playing sides who have the players set up man for man, energy to press us and quality to hurt us on the counter. Last night wasn't a bad day at the office, it'll happen again, especially with the likes of Leicester, Ipswich, Middlesbrough and Leeds still to play. Huddersfield exploited it but just didn't have the quality to maintain it. Bristol City had the energy to exploit it. Hull had the energy and quality to essentially embarrass us.
-
Looks like its gonna be break, rather than make.
-
If Ryan Manning is anywhere near a PL side, him saying some nasty words will be the least of our worries
-
When you take away free kicks and goals from corners, he becomes a slightly more agressive and polished version of Will Smallbone. Very, very average player - massivley overhyped by so many on here.
-
Niave to think he wont be working on bits behind the scenes at United, whilst on gardening leave. He'll be doing the job in all but having his feet under the desk. The only reason Newcastle wont want him around, is because they wouldn't want him close to the day to day running of the club before shooting off to a rival.
-
Rest assured, United wont be looking to appoint Russel Martin as manager.
-
Looks like we might not - I hope he recovers well, but good news for us.. https://talksport.com/football/1754754/tony-mowbray-birmingham-medical-treatment/

If his time is anything like what it was a caretaker and/or coach here, he's gonna need it. By all accounts a top bloke, but I cant help but feel he should have stayed retired. Might be a good opportunity for us to farm out some younger lads for first team football.. Side note: looks to be joined by Danny Butterfield as his assistant.
-
You just know that 3 teams are going to finish on close to 100 points and the team that finishes 3rd will go out in the first leg of the play-offs
-
I think we have no chance of catching leicester, unless they have a freak run of poor form, which given their squad, is not going to happen - that being said, all doesn't seem well at the king power at the minute and they have a history of being a bit 'spursy' (didn't they spunk top 4 a couple of times when it was in their hands), all be it at the top end of the PL, rather than championship. I think Leeds will beat them and I could see Leeds catching them, given their run in and current form, but even that is unlikley. We'd need to win every game to catch them and given who we have left to play, it wont happen. For the sake of entertainment, it'd be great for us to make up 6 points this week and go their 5 points behind them in a months time.
-
Really nervous about this one. Hull have real quality throughout their squad, especially in the final 3rd. We'll need to play well to beat these but our record at home is good, so you'd hope / expect us to get the result.. But it wont be easy. I think it'll be a score draw.
-
Match winners... Their forwards are brilliant. The games were weve drawn, they've had enough quality in the final 3rd to win games.
-
Has it been sucessful though? Sucess will be defined on if we gain promotion. Had Wilcox been able to attract his number 1 target (Enzo), we may well be sitting top of the table and I'd agree. He didn't though and we'll never know how it would have (or indeed may continue to) pan out. For me, I'd be judging him next season if we fail to go up - what can he produce or if we do go up, can he keep us up.
-
I wonder how we'd have done this season had Nathan stuck around - Given AA has played off the right and is up there as the leauges top scorer, its arguable that not much difference. I guess we'll never know, but if he was the difference between promotion or not, £25m doesn't look a great deal for us!

Those in the CoT were updated with my findings yesterday. Very interesting. All I can say for now.
