  1. Looks like we might not - I hope he recovers well, but good news for us.. https://talksport.com/football/1754754/tony-mowbray-birmingham-medical-treatment/
  2. If his time is anything like what it was a caretaker and/or coach here, he's gonna need it. By all accounts a top bloke, but I cant help but feel he should have stayed retired. Might be a good opportunity for us to farm out some younger lads for first team football.. Side note: looks to be joined by Danny Butterfield as his assistant.
  3. You just know that 3 teams are going to finish on close to 100 points and the team that finishes 3rd will go out in the first leg of the play-offs
  4. I think we have no chance of catching leicester, unless they have a freak run of poor form, which given their squad, is not going to happen - that being said, all doesn't seem well at the king power at the minute and they have a history of being a bit 'spursy' (didn't they spunk top 4 a couple of times when it was in their hands), all be it at the top end of the PL, rather than championship. I think Leeds will beat them and I could see Leeds catching them, given their run in and current form, but even that is unlikley. We'd need to win every game to catch them and given who we have left to play, it wont happen. For the sake of entertainment, it'd be great for us to make up 6 points this week and go their 5 points behind them in a months time.
  5. Really nervous about this one. Hull have real quality throughout their squad, especially in the final 3rd. We'll need to play well to beat these but our record at home is good, so you'd hope / expect us to get the result.. But it wont be easy. I think it'll be a score draw.
  6. Match winners... Their forwards are brilliant. The games were weve drawn, they've had enough quality in the final 3rd to win games.
  7. Has it been sucessful though? Sucess will be defined on if we gain promotion. Had Wilcox been able to attract his number 1 target (Enzo), we may well be sitting top of the table and I'd agree. He didn't though and we'll never know how it would have (or indeed may continue to) pan out. For me, I'd be judging him next season if we fail to go up - what can he produce or if we do go up, can he keep us up.

    Nathan Tella

I wonder how we'd have done this season had Nathan stuck around - Given AA has played off the right and is up there as the leauges top scorer, its arguable that not much difference. I guess we'll never know, but if he was the difference between promotion or not, £25m doesn't look a great deal for us!
  9. Those in the CoT were updated with my findings yesterday. Very interesting. All I can say for now.
  10. worth saying there is absolutely no guarentee that we will get promoted. In all liklihood, we wont. Defo in leeds hands.
  11. You're such a strange, bitter man. Anyone in their right mind would leave a championship side, whom if dont go up will remain a championship side for years to come for an exciting project at the biggest club in the world. If it was ££ he was interested in, he wouldn't have left city for us.
  12. I'm guessing Dan Ashworth would be his boss. If Ornstein is reporting it, its gonna happen.
  13. yeah, kinda how I feel. Failed to attracted Enzo, appointed Martin who's record is patchy at best (and will fail to get us promotion imo) & wasted £10m on someone who a busted flush. You could argue THB was more likley because of him, but other than that - not sure what he's done to be too worried.
  14. If the club weren't aware, how do you expect anyone else to be? Not the brigest bulb are you, always. Just trying to get hold of my contact now.
  15. What's more concerning is that 2 weeks running, teams have found a way to have sucess against us. Pressure our midfield, press us high and attack the channels and you'll have sucess.
  16. Idiots thinking we're never going to lose again and leciester are going to double their loss count in the next 15 games. We lost the title in September. We want leeds and ipswich to lose 2nd place in March & April.
  17. Seems like the "inverted full backs" are starting to creep back in. Just like the start of the season when we were shit, we're starting to look shit now... 2-1 baggies or score draw. Can't see us winning here.
  18. Hull will be an incredibly tough game as well. They're looking a really good side, especially going forward.
  19. Absolutley. But personally, I think on balance - given they're hitting some real form and have an easier run in, they'll end up with more points than us. It was always stupid people who thought we could chase down leicester. It was never going to happen, as proven.
  20. with the addition of WIFI to St Marys, you really have to question what the motive is here... Wish they'd just leave politics from football
  21. S Armstong has been crap a couple of weeks running now. That team, but smallbone in for Armstong, for me.
  22. Just looking at the next 5 fixtures and I'd say its easily the hardest run of 5 games we've had since we lost 4 on the bounce - arguabbly all season. I cannot see us getting through these next 5 without a defeat, so we need to win the other 4 imo and hope leeds don't gain any ground with a game against Leicester thrown in there. 3 really tough away fixtures, especially with Brum looking a different team (under a manager whose previously outfoxed our manager this season) and Hull, who are my money for the playoffs. I'm gonna go for 8 points Saints Bristol (a) West Brom (a) Hull (h) - Game in hand on Leicester and Leeds Milwall (h) Birmingham (a) Leeds (including 4 excluding our game in hand) Swansea (a) Plymouth (a) Leicester (h) Huddersfield (a) If we're still ahead of leeds at the end of this run of games, we would have done fantastically well.
  23. Still doesn't offer anywhere near enough as a lone number 9 for me, especially when he starts games. Technically he's brilliant, always has been - He has brilliant ball control, can spot a pass and his finishing. He's pretty quick or at least quick enough, but he offers us no focal point at all, which for someone of his size he should be. That being said, he's young enough to improve that side of his game. I think we've seen enough of him in very limited spells to suggest he's more than edequate to step in if needed. Deserves another chance to start this week.
  24. If they set up in the same way as to what they did against us at our place and leeds, where they sit off and let us control the game looking to counter (only examples of I have seeing them), I think we'd be fine with smallbone in the '6'. I'd be really concerned if we have to go to WBA with either Smallbone or Charles back there though. Downes is so important to us. Holds the ability and composure on the ball like Smallbone and defensive soliditay as Charles. He's phenomenal, imo.
  25. The test will be against liverpool. Obviously you'd have to be stupid to expect us to maintain 60-70% possession against them, but it will be a good test for us. They're significantly better than us, press high and press well. Has everything to suggest we get a pasting. If we can hold our own in that game, i'd be very pleasntly surprised.
