  1. This is kinda where I've landed. I've accepted relegation, so I'm not all that arsed about how he does, so long as its get 10 or so more points. a 6 month deal is low risk for us. I'm excited for the change towards a more agressive, direct style. It sounds like he'll give the squad a boot up the backside as well - which is night and day compared to Martin. He has a decent enough record with 'smaller' clubs, so I'm not fussed about the Roma situ. I wanted Rohl and wouldn't have been against Corberhan. if either are our long term targets, I'd have rather we got them in now and gave them 6 months to build a side. Either way - Martin has drained the life from me, so any change would have been a good change imo.
  2. I’ve got my heart set on Rohl if I’m honest. I think he’s done a great job at Wednesday, the reaction of thier fans says it all. he’ll have us playing a much more entertaining (imo), direct style And I’d like to see what he can do with the tools he’d have at his disposal with us. I don’t think it’ll happen though, unfortunately.
  3. Winning games after being the whipping boys for a few years always is. It’ll be the same next season 👍🏻 maybe even better with a better manager.
  4. Interesting… seems like he has credibility…
  5. One last sniff of the car seat Lucy has been sat in.
  6. eh? you've massively missed the point I was making. If we have to shop in bargain basket for his replacement, due to PSR rules, then would it not be better to take the hit (points) this season to get our desired option in - rather than someone because they're free. There are many, many reason why we were right to sack old lego head.
  7. I've seen a few excuses of 'PSR' and that may hamper us getting in someone who will require compo.... Would it not be an idea, given were fucked anyway, to just breach it take the points deduction this season? or does it not really work like that?
  8. Possibly, but that happens in football. We've had long enough to replace him. FWIW - I'm glad Wilcox has gone. He failed to attract his mate Marseca last season and he would have led us down a path of an unhealthy obsession with possession based football.
  9. i know its Alex Crook, but he was spouting out on TS yesterday and he also hinted at Dragan losing faith in Ankersen. I actually feel a bit for Dragan - He's putting his money forward and you can't really knock the investment we've made... Its the 'football people' that have let him down. This is all on Ankersen imo. I do think that SR will come good as owners though - we just need to keep Ankersens filthy mits off the football side.
  10. Perhaps its more a case of new man, new ideas. Whatever the fuck the previous mob were doing wasn't working. Calderwood and C. Martin feel like Club appointments, I could see them staying. No chance thornton or Gill stick around though.
  11. Would we not just have to pay him out of his contract? If my math is correct, that works out about 64k a week over 3 years. Not wildly unrealistic...?
  12. What happened with Rohl last time? I seem to remember you saying he left under a cloud...
  13. The fact Ralph is 14/1 would suggest that its really not worth looking at that list....
  14. 9th in the championship, with that Sheff Weds side is an incredible achievement. They're a basket case.. even worse than us. Martin was having sides who should have been challenging for promotion mid-table, this is absolutely not the same.
  15. Russell Martin is an incredibly limited manager who relied on us having better players than all but 2 other sides last season. The warning signs were there from September last year. Tactically outclassed by Mowbray and Marseca and generally speaking and other than Leeds, we crumbled every time we came up against a decent side. That Leciester home game will haunt me forever. I don't see where he goes from here if i'm honest - It would be an incredible risk for someone in the PL to take a punt. Perhaps someone like Leeds? Anyhow.. Good riddance.
  16. If (not that I think we will) got Rohl, is there a chance ABK could stay? Would have known him from the Germany World Cup squad...
  17. First target is to beat Beat Derby’s record asap. Something Martin wasn’t going to do. Most are sensible enough to understand we’ve probably not got the side to stay up especially being soo far adrift now. I’d like to see someone come in and give us a bit of fight. Someone who is willing to accept than in all likelihood he’l be managing in the championship next season but he’ll have a bloody good championship side and a chance to bounce back stronger. I wouldn’t mind someone to get more out of the likes of Sulemana, tall Paul etc. and fuck the Martin fn boys (Fraser, Armstrong, Stephen etc.)
  18. I don’t think it would. You can tell this squad isn’t comfortable / doesn’t believe they can play this style at this level. 1 bit of encouragement to ‘fucking get rid’ and they’d jump at it
  19. At this point I kinda hope we stick with him and he goes down as the worst ever PL manager. He’s just using us as a window for his career at this point, which is fine so long as its not detrimental to us as a club, which it clearly is. The arrogance the bloke has despite achieving absolutely f all in his career, is astonishing. He deserves all the shit he gets.
  20. Absolutely spot on. Ironically, if they’d kept Scott Parker all season they’d have gone down.
  21. Exactly why I’d go for Rohl. Back to direct, high intensity football which doesn’t require a load of technical talent. Just a fit, committed side who are coached well and know their roles on and off the ball.
  22. I think you’re right. He scored goals for a poor Sheffield utd side last year, he started bright imo, I just don’t think he’s suited to RM’s style.
  23. On that we agree.
  24. Every side RM has managed has been. Perhaps an issue with his tactics?
  25. I hate XG, it’s nonsense, but put it this way.. We have an xg of 1.08. We could stick Haaland up top and if we’re not getting him the ball in dangerous positions, we’re not going to score. If we continually pass the ball to opposition forwards in our 3rd of the pitch, we are going to concede. Both of those are on the manager and his philosophy.
