Whilst I don't disagree that Ralph cared for the club, we absolutely were a stepping stone for him. He said as much in his inital interview - it just so happened that he never got in offer to move up the ladder.

3rd highest goal scorers this season. Absolutely there have been games where we should have put it to bed with another goal or 2, but the fact we cannot keep them out (similar trend for a Russell Martin team), is the reason why we're not in contention for automatic promotion. 11 clean sheets for a defence that contains KWP, THB and Bednerak is completely unacceptable.

There would still be 2 (maybe 3?) blocks to fill where the away fans would usually sit - where are those fans coming from? Personally, I think its going to look a bit naff.

Mods @Lighthouse - You know how we love a poll on here. I'd be really interested to see the split of support for and against RM. Mabe something like: At the end of the season would you 1. Keep regardless - Deserves 1 more season. 2. Keep only if we gain promotion, Sack if we dont - Failed to achieve targets. 3. Sack regardless - I see no future with him as manager in this leauge or the one above.

There's another thread discussing what a brilliant job Russell has done (spoiler, universially agreed that he's a busted flush), this one and posts in this one, are clearly directed at the subject of the thread - but you know that. Like you said, one day a thread might start without it ending up about RM.. Lets leave it there shall we.

Without going all football hipers / football manager vibes, I'd play Brooks and AA in the 10's (similar to how Ralph set up our wide men) behind Che - Brooks best suited to that role imo - thought he was alright in the middle of the park Saturday.

Pretty similar to all of our other wingers then - especially Edozie.

As much as Sulemana has been a bit (bit being an understatement) of a let down, I think he's been criminally under used this season. A player like him, a bit off the cuff - limited techinical ability, but quick and direct, simply doesn't suit a Russell Martin team. He's a luxury player, but one who could have made the difference this season.

What a miserable situation we find ourselves in. Go up, its going to be absolute shambles of enormous scales. Derby sort of levels. Stay down its going to be the begining of the end and before we know it, we'll be Stoke / Swansea etc. I simply cannot see a way forward for this football club with Russell Martin as manager. Idea situation is that we go up and Martin goes and we bring in someone who would be competent at the level above.

Much like that season, we aren't / weren't ready to go up and it would have been a disaster.

Football generally runs in cycles... Its not possible for clubs like us, brighton and bournemouth to consistently get it right window after window. They'll drop just as fast as they rose, much like we have. Much like Brighton and probably Bournemouth, the issue we had is that we didn't feast when times were good. We should have won a trophy during that 4-5 year window, its poor that we didn't.

Getting his excuses in there early. The schedule, the fans basically anything other than his tactics when we get knocked out in the semi final.

When he’s got the ball, with no one trying to get it off him and he doesn’t have to put any effort in (run, show a bit of grit/determination) he’s a real talent that boy. The sooner he fucks back off to France the better. Disgraceful attitude of a player.

Winning mentality, don’t know when they’re beaten, know how to win. We’re the opposite, for sure.
