Burnely didn't want to pay the going rate for him, so he went to someone who would. Circumstances are / were very different if WH don't want to sell.
-
Looks like he'll be heading back to Bournemouth for next season, but how do we rate his time here? I was really excited when he came in, but imo he flattered to deceive - I can see why he wasn't going to get game time at Bmouth. That being said, I do think he showed bits of class - thinking against WBA in the second leg - and I'd much rather he was at us, than had he gone to somewhere like Leeds. Very likeable guy, I hope he can regain his fitness and fulfil his potential but not one I'd be looking to resign.
-
To be fair, he has had a taste of the germany squad and in a eruos year, probably didn't see the championship as the best place to showcae his ability to get back into that squad. My biggest concern with him is that he seems to 1. get injured all the time or 2. "get injured" when the going gets tough. Wouldn't mind him coming back for a season though, in a back 3 next to 2 of THB, Stephens, Bednerak, I think that would be a nice balance.
-
He had the very much needed surgery on his shoulder last season, I believe. Would expect him to be fit and ready for next season.
-
This is 100% true. Apart from being from netley, family / friends being from southampton - he's got no affliation to the club.
-
Could be a really good season to have been promoted with Leicester and Everton losing points (hopefully) and I'd fancy our chances of finishing above Ipswich. I think Brentford and Forest will struggle next season as well.

Fonte? the Portuguese CB we signed from Palace?

Southampton 1-0 Leeds - Saints are Promoted!!

He threw his match shirt into the crowd post game, was likley given one which he threw on for the trophy lift. But I do agree - I think its done and dusted he moves on. -
improved greatly when he was put in his natural position in a more advanced role. Deserevs a shot next season - not sure if he's good enough though.
-
Time for us both to part ways. PLayed a limited, but huge part this season for us (imo as many others have said, without him we'd not have been in the final, let alone win it), but he's not good enough to be our no1 next season. Thanks for the contribution and move on whilst both are on a high.

Im convinced the plan is that Lallana will be our next manager, providing Martin is sucessful enough to last a year or 2.

Why on earth would you (or anyone) do that. -
I haven't changed my mind. Win or Lose sunday and I'd pull the trigger if I was given the opportunity. I don't see Martin as the man to take us forward, whatever division we're in.
-
I don't dissagree, by the way. He wouldn't be my choice, I'd rather someone a bit more pragmatic than a 'system manager'. The point I was making, is that if we are embedded to Martin's style (which given that JW has now gone I'm not sure we will be), hes avalible and would be a nice fit. Personally, I'd be throwing the kitchen sink at Cooper.
-
Wouldn't be arsed if Martin went on Monday morning, plently of decent options out there and I woul dhave no trust in him keeping us up (or taking us up without flynn Downes for that matter). If we fail to go up and want to continue with the tippy tappy, spreadsheet, achieved nothing mantra, Rosenior is avalible - the best side I've seen at St Mary's this season, not sure how they didn't make the play-offs.

I don't understand how its all decided... We played Watford (yellow and black - no clash) at home twice this season, who decided to play in thier away kit (white and maroon), which was more of a clash than their home kit would have been. Almost certainly will be black though - would be amazing if hummel brought out a limited edition yellow / blue, like we got the all white for the EFL cup final.. can't see that happening when there are alternatives which aren't a clash though -

Unless you're looking for a ban, I wouldn't recommend. Your choice though -
You're not wrong - Masisvley overpriced once again.

Play-off finals are usually really cagey and often won by the odd goal - given the way both teams play and defend, this one could easily be a 4-3 either way. I've fancied Leeds for promotion all season so If we manage to beat Leeds 3 times this season, we deserve promotion. -

Leeds wont turn up, not play a striker and try and camp in their half and offer so much more in our final 3rd than WBA - very different approach needed Sunday. Martin has got it right twice this season, lets hope he has Farke's number once more. -
This is not a post to brag, but not sure what the fuss was about - I managed to log on at 12:30 with a bit of a wait and grab 3 tickets on old support numbers that haven't been used for about 5 seasons. I had secured mine saturday mind, so a little less stressful, but seemed a pretty easy enough process... I don't know anyone who missed out.

Eassily the most sensible bit of buisness that anyone in this leauge could have done this summer - from the very lmited I've seen, he's a fantastic shot stopper. We were never going to be interested though. He's a proper keeper, but not a footballer. he doesn't suit the way in which we want to play - which, you'd have to argue is fair enough - at least we have some form of strategy.
-
Well the U21 manager has just left the club. If Adam has the apetite to go into coaching, having spent a couple of years under a manager who plays in a similar way to us and been involved in the coaching set up there, it might be a good stepping stone for him. Wether to become our First team manager in a couple of years (would be a fairly smooth transition from Martin to him, you'd imagine from a playing style) or to a first team role elsewhere. However, this is Adam Lallana, I exepct his ego wouldn't let him learn his craft at u21 level.
-
If you don't like that, you wait until WBA nick a goal from us fucking around with it in the 6 yard box.

Good evening to you, Fra. i don’t suppose you know @suewhistle, she used to live in Italy, so I’m told.
