its been a good start to the window so far imo. I think Wood was a total waste of money, but at £3m, its low risk and solid option for next year if we fail to stay up. However, I think we're probably only on par with how the season ended in terms of starting 11 strength. We're a keeper (ramsdale wold be a dream), CM (Ditto for O'riely) and a number 9 away from being really competative, imo.
-
Currently we have; Stephens, THB, Janny B, Wood, Edwards + ABK (atlhough he's obviously off) who can play CB. There's no way we're playing a LB at CB and a RB at LB. KWP is off (providing we find a buyer) and rightly so if he wont sign a new deal.
-
Because we're a nation full of loosers. Southagate epitomises that. For me, give Carsely the job until the end of the next season - at that point, test the water with Ancolotti, if that fails pep, if that fails Tuchel. We don't currently have any homegrown managers ready to take us to the next level. If we have to pick one, potter or Oneil - anyone but Howe.
-
devils advocate, whilst I agree we should have performed better tahn we have, I'd take boring 1-0 wins from now until the final. generally speaking, cadgey, defensive football is what wins these things.
-
we're not signing another keeper - we've just given McCarthy a new deal.
-
I thought that Nathan Wood was absoultely shite when I saw him last season, but really excited about Edwards. Exactly the sort of profile we should be looking at. I do hope we're not replacing someone like Bednerak, with these 2 though - bednerak has his limitations, but was solid last season and is vastly more experienced... it would be a massive risk.
-
Given the seagulls are starting follow the trawler, I think its time we throw them a sardine, Turks.
-
He wasn't signed on a 2 year deal though, was he - so that is a bit of an irrelevant argument. He was brought in to get us promotion - that was the target. We had the 3rd best squad in teh leauge, and we effectively finished 3rd. Minimum expected imo.
-
Incredibly short sighted by the club and will potentially (likley) come back to bite us on the arse. We've absolutely no idea how we will do in the PL and his / the clubs 'success' was acheiving the bare minimum expected... Why would you not wait 6 months and assess in December.
-
I thought that was pretty common knowledge....
-
He's always been a complete helmet. He was loaned out from Boro for that exact reason. Good player, but the sort we do not want in our dressing room - especially after ridding oursleves of them post relegation.
-
Chelsea are very active down here. Especially up sholing getting players in as soon as they start playing.
-
ignoring how poor your football / saints knowledge must be to get the 2 mixed up, did it not register when you saw that Rednkapp reads nothing like Strachan?
-
Been around for ages. Used in the CL as well.
-
I'd say its a pretty safe bet to think that JWP wouldn't upset the dressing room...
-
ahhhh we've just been given the Manji kiss of death. Looks like we're fucked.
-
Mock this up with the red bits white and the white bits red - it'll look 10 times better i'm sure... I've always thought we should have a 'white base' rather than red..
-
The CoT only deal in FACTS, not speculation. Make of that what you will.
-
Other than being pretty quick (which he never seems to actually make the most of) - I don't think i've seen any attributes from him to suggest he will succeed.
-
He's also been trying to get out for the past 2/3 summers.
-
I tend to agree, although my fear is 'the upgrade on Mara' will be somoene like Ings. Basically, if we go into next season with Che being our first choice focal point, we'll be in trouble. Stewart is too unreliable.
-
The fact we're trying to keep hold of Che, to me would suggest that we've not factored in the budget for a decent number 9. Worrying. I was really hopeful we'd say thanks and good bye. Fingers crossed he forces our hand.

That's a bit of a myth. Bloom took over in 2009 and these are the managers since then; Roberto De Zerbi 20 Sep, 2022 Present Graham Potter 20 May, 2019 07 Sep, 2022 Chris Hughton 31 Dec, 2014 13 May, 2019 Nathan Jones 22 Dec, 2014 31 Dec, 2014 Sami Hyypia 07 Jun, 2014 22 Dec, 2014 Oscar Garcia 26 Jun, 2013 12 May, 2014 Gus Poyet 10 Nov, 2009 24 Jun, 2013 So 'pretty fucking impressive' means Potter & De Zerbi. Also, lets also not ignore the fact that they've lost all of the key people who'd have been making those decisions over the past few years..

Aribo isn't good enough if we want to be a serious PL side. A good second half to the championship season might mean we actually a half decent fee for him. Basically, now is the time to sell before his value depreciates again. The same to be said for a few others (Janny B, Adam Armstrong etc.)
-
Genuniely, we should be playing him up top as a 'false 9' or an old school 10, just behind a number 9. Get him in the final 3rd and tell him not to worry about tracking back.
