  1. In pretty much every single way, other than free kicks and corners. Prowse, is very average and will be nowhere near the squad when we’re needing it to be at its strongest. Rice, Bellingham, Henderson and Phillips all ahead of him in the pecking order and rightly so.
  2. I think you may have miss understood the post. The way I read it was he’d be 1 of the 4 (I.e on the right with OR and SA in CM). Personally, I think Liveramento has a touch of S Armstrong about him when going forward and is pretty direct. I think he’d do an alright job out there, certainly no worse than Theo / Mo etc. KWP is a very, very good RB so not losing anything on that perspective. Given we’re trying to fit square pegs in round holes with KWP playing LB anyway, I don’t see the harm in at least trying him as a winger, personally.
  3. I can’t believe we’ve not even tried playing him further forward, especially given the shower of shit our wingers / attacking midfielders currently are and KWP being one of, if not our best player. It might not work, it might be great. Unless you try it you’ll never know. However, imo it can’t be any worse than current. Actually, I can believe it. Once Ralph gets an idea he’s far to stubborn to change it.
  4. Yep. 100% a red, on another day it was a leg breaker. VAR used correctly and doing exactly what It should.
  5. Given you’re clearly on the hunt for an argument with anyone possible, I’m not even going to engage in the rest of your post. To be honest, I can’t even be arsed to read it given you’re trying to argue about a if a poster is banned or not. However, I’ve never confirmed nor denied that I am SKD, to be honest, it’s irrelevant anyway. What I can 1000000% assure you, SKD was definitely banned, he / she / they certainly weren’t bullied off pal 😂😂 Nice try though Sherlock. The last ill say on the matter. On to Ralph. Big game for him today imo. Not expecting a win, but we could easily get turned over heavily which would leave the board almost no choice but to start twitching, if they aren’t already.
  6. 😂 Lol. Let’s take a step back and calm down a second. There are a couple of points here, in this over aggressive post, which I’ll address. 1. I was replying directly to your comment about trying someone like Tino RM and that requiring a change in how we play. The changes Ralph has made this season is completely irrelevant to that, as our attacking midfielders are still absolutely garbage. So as I said, perhaps a change would be welcomed. Given you’re clearly so far superior in terms of footballing knowledge than the rest of us on here, enlighten us as to what you’d do to change things around (Remember this is real life and not football manager). 2. Absolutely no vendetta here. Ralph is a deadman walking after the run we’ve been on in the last year and 0 wins in 5 hasn’t helped his cause this season. No other manager in this division would survive a run as bad as he’s been on. 3. I assume you’re referring to SKD? As I understand he was banned. Not scared of baying mob of Ralph’s hipster clique who are so intelligent about football they cannot have a debate without being patronising. I Can’t talk for anyone else, but no other accounts on here from me.
  7. Perhaps a change in the way we play is exactly what is needed, given our attacking/wide/10’s midfielders are completely ineffective.
  8. I Also saw that payments on the £5m don’t kick in until next season. As you say, great business. It does beg the question of why we couldn’t rustle up a little bit more for a half decent CB though.
  9. There’s plenty out there, to be fair. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik Favre (in talks with palace in the summer, wasn’t he??) would be my realistic ideal replacement.
  10. As I’ve said before. Eddie Howe* will be our manager by Christmas. Also said he (Ralph) wouldn’t last 10 games this season. Still believe both will come true. *im not suggesting I want him; just my opinion of who we’ll bring in.
  11. Neither him or Adams are good enough to be relying on goals for. Both would support a decent striker well (ings, as an example) but neither are up to it at this level alone / together.
  12. 0 wins in 5 this season. 5 wins in, something like, the last 30 games. But yeah, keep making out it’s just one bad performance and that’s why people want the manager gone. A point against city means fuck all if you follow up with a loss at home to wolves. That being said, we sold our only goal threat last season and replaced him with an unproven championship striker. We’re not going to win games without scoring goals, whoever the manager, and I’m sorry, these 2 we have up top, don’t look up to it (as a few predicted pre-season).

    Danny Ings

He missed 2 absolute sitters against United, for a start. That’s at least 1 win there.

    Danny Ings

Why do people keep rambling on about Ings potentially getting an injury. Injuries happen, Armstrong could have also sustained an injury. Regardless of that, Egg’s and mine point wasn’t if we should have accepted that offer for Ings, he was rightly pointing out the importance of a top level striker. I’m sure it can be proven by ‘XG’ or something that Ings is a better finisher than Armstrong, those 2 against United, Ings 9 times out of 10, would score. He might have missed, we’ll never know but in all likilehood, based on previous with us, he’d score and we’d win that game. my point regarding being a shambles was the fact, as a premier league club, we needed to sell 1 or 2 of our best players to fund 15m£ to bulk out some very much needed depth in the squad. I think we done alright in the transfer market all things considered. our business wasn’t a shambles, the financial situation is though. FWIW, I like Armstrong, he has a lot of qualities and similarities to Ings, he’ll improve and be a decent enough player for us. He’s not as good as Ings, but that’s obvious. No one we brought would be. Not too sure which part is wrong (fact!!). Just 2 differing opinions. Who’d have thought it on a football forum.

    Danny Ings

Well using Valery is a poor comparison as he would never have been a starter for us. The fact we needed to sell 1 or 2 of our best players to buy 2 full backs which cost a combined fee of c.15m is an absolute shambles, to start. But it doesn’t really have any relevance to Eggs point that Ings would have almost certainly put the chances Armstrong hasn’t, away.
  16. So in simple terms, without all the fancy fluff, Tino is a good solid right back who’s also pretty decent going forward.
  17. Can anyone enlighten the non football manager / fifa players / Althetic readers / non Football hipsters, what against the ball actually means…. Is it a hipster way of saying pressing, ‘reading the game’ Or being good at 1 - 1 defending?
  18. Not really, he was utter shite in the highlights videos we saw before we signed him as well. Most with any sense could make a very solid, educated guess, he’d be useless. He was the cheap option and he’s, very predictably, absolutely fucking rubbish.
  19. Tweaking things abit…. He brought in 4 genuinely top class players in Tadic, Mane, Pelle and Toby. Here, he’d have to make do with players like Adams, Redmond and Stephens. We don’t have the budget to bring in the type of players that Koeman would need to play his way and be successful. At the very least, we’d need a big target man.
  20. What’s it been, something like 5 wins in nearly 30 games, now? I’d say it’s only Natural that we’d be looking at alternative players. Yes, defensively we’ve improved this season, but we don’t / haven’t really looked like winning a game this season (I guess natural when you lose a striker of Ings quality). We seemingly either are good going forward and pathetic at the back or vice Versa.. there is no real balance to his teams. I loved koeman and he done a fantastic job with the Netherlands as well after us, but I don’t think we have the squad for him to take over now.
  21. Long gone are the days under Poch and Koeman, where we went into every game thinking we could get something.
  22. More based on what we’ve seen from Che and Armstrong to date. Armstrong looks completely ineffective as a lone striker and Adams is Adams. Broja and Armstrong would be our strongest partnership, but all round, Broja offers more than Armstrong for me. Broja is going to be a serious player.
  23. Why? He’s better than them both.

    Sport Republic

Sounds like that American chancer in the press a few month back. De Grosa was it? If they thought we’d reach or get anywhere near the level of City, they’re either incredibly rich or incredibly naive. Given FFP rules basically making it impossible for a club like us to be that size now, I’d go for the second. The amount of investment needed would be staggering.
  25. Wouldn’t we all, but currently, that’s impossible for a few reasons; 1. The transfer window is shut, we can only look at players who are currently without a club. Imo, we’re desperate, we can’t wait until next season. 2. Were skint. Good up and coming keepers will cost a decent amount of money, we don’t have that. 3. With an up and coming star in our price bracket, there is risk. We tried that with Gunn, he was highly rated but ended up being rubbish. We cannot afford another Gunn situation. Romero seems an absolute no brainier.
