  1. This is a good point and one of the main reasons I don’t think he’d get a bigger job than us (unless we do something stupid next year). He wouldn’t get the time he needs to build a squad, I’m not sure how he’d handle the egos and is a tad too inconsistent. We’re probably the right level for each other.
  2. About time he done something in the PL though. Been a disappointment for me so far, a shame as looked/looks a real player
  3. Ironically, I bet this ‘troll’ attends more games and pumps more money into the club than you do. but, the point regarding the San Marino manager, was valid. A team of their quality should be getting 10-15 goals put past them when they play nations such as England such is the difference in quality. Ralph in 2 games now, was unable to stop a 9-0 defeat despite being on a relatively level playing field. Whereas at 3/4-0 down we could have stuck 9 men behind the ball on a low block to make it hard, we didn’t. We continued to try and play a high pressing attacking game, hence the score line. It’s tedious, so I can’t even be arsed to be drawn into it if I’m honest. Next time you’re at St Mary’s, drop me a DM and we can have a beer. I won’t hold my breath.
  4. How about you sack ‘the data’ off and actually watch games. It’d make those predictions significantly easier fella.
  5. f**k me, you really are a boring c**t mate, aren’t you.
  6. Nope sorry, a ‘class’ manager doesn’t get beaten 9-0 twice in 2 seasons, regardless of the circumstances. Personally, I think he was extremely lucky to survive the second 9 and subsequent run that followed. You could pretty much argue that any manager is fine if they get a couple of good signings.
  7. Agree with this mate. Very much a critic of him and if we’re all honest, last season was shambolic. He’s more tactically fluid and seemingly got better at his subs as well. Fair play to him and the powers that be who make the signings as well.
  8. I was worried when he came on and we kept a back 4 but I thought he done very well. Made a great tackle at one point, might have been just before that run.
  9. Being at the game, Looked more like a standard 442 to me. Wide midfielders were playing very deep without the ball at some points in the second half more of a 622 they were that deep. The pressing was mainly coming from the front 2 whilst we played 2 banks of 4 making it hard to break down. Very different from the overally attacking 4222 where the wingers press very high and are out of position.
  10. To be fair, Laporte was being a wanker all game. There was a point in the first half where he tried getting adams (I think it was) sent off for an arm in the neck whilst competing for a header. naturally, the 6 foot prick went down clutching his face like he’d face a haymaker from Tyson Fury.
  11. Ollie Robinson was the one ‘fat shamed’, I think I heard. It has to be said, he is visibly carry a bit of extra timber (for an elite athlete) and pace did drop after his first spell, but by no means was the reason we were absolutely pathetic this series . As for Giles, he was a pretty average player and an even worse coach. Seems as if the trend is continuing at ECB.
  12. Agreed. Far too attacking, far too easy to play through the press when teams tire in the second half. Any relative success it did have, has now been sussed out.
  13. Looks like we’ve found TWar’s twitter.
  14. No chance! Give me will smallbone any day
  15. United also ‘apparently’ planning a move for John McGinn. Won’t go down well on here I expect as he’s an unfashionable name, but he’s a top player. Similar sort of style to JWP, maybe just a little more attack minded.
  16. Possibly new owners wanting to appease the fans? Possible it’s coming from Broja camp to drum up other interest, or for Chelsea to commit. Whatever it is, I hope we can get it done. Even with a buy back, at 20m that would be a very good bit of business. We won’t be able to attract anyone better than him.
  17. Or they could see pretty much from the off that the kid was a star in the making. Your attempted defence of the indefensible (higher ceiling comment) is astounding. It was a silly shout you rushed in with, more than likely because he’s not our player, just own it. No need to respond with your bulk standard responses we see every thread. Going against the narrative doesn’t make you a troll, ‘anti-saints’ or looking for bites. Without causing the thread to run completely off topic, given our form before this season, it was very fair to question the manager. In response to those clubs looking at JWP, I don’t see it happening. Maybe tottenham, but in my opinion, he wouldn’t be worth the money we’d command for him, which would put clubs off.
  18. Everton need a rebuild. They need a ‘young’ manager/coach who they can build around and give 3/4+ Seasons to get them where they want to be. Ancelotti, Benitez where never going to do that. I don’t know who the decision maker, on the football side, is at that club, but they’ve been a bit of a joke in that respect since the day Moshri joined. Ashworth and Potter, would be a very astute appointment and I’ve no doubt they have the money (and willingness to spend said money) to pull it off, but would either of them want to join in their current form is a different question. They are a very real life example of money to spend doesn’t equate to success if you have no plan. Reports are suggesting Martinez, which again feels another scatter gun approach.
  19. 433/451/4141 please. Lyanco out for KWP, Redmond for S Armstrong.
  20. Without trying to get into a slanging match, I think you are grossly underestimating Phillips. I never used to rate him, until I saw him at the euros, where I thought he was brilliant. Of course all my opinion, but as an out and out defensive midfielder, Phillips is better than Prowse and I think he’s arguably better on the ball (distribution) than him as well. Obviously Prowse offers something in set plays / goal threat that Phillips doesn’t. Where prowse shines, which may give him a edge on Phillips, is his fitness. He’s never injured where as Phillips gets a lot of little niggles and injuries. This may put a big club offering a large sum (that it would take) to get him. in my opinion (and I’m sure I’ve missed someone), Rice, Bellingham, Phillips are England’s 3 stand out deeper playing CM’s. With Henderson, prowse, Gallagher etc. Slightly below them. (I’ve intentionally excluded like likes of Mount as I see him more of a 10, than a 6). Put it this way, I don’t think Prowse will be going to the World Cup in December. If he does, he won’t be a starter like Phillips was at the euros. Another CM who’s having a very good season, is Will Hughes at Palace.
  21. Another lie.
  22. Yes, like when Bournemouth had a stupid amount of injuries in the season they went down? But that was down to a manager ‘wildly out his depth’.
  23. We gonna go down that route? Let’s look at the squad value of your boy, rafa’s club… but then you’ll pull the injury card. But Of course, injuries don’t matter when it doesn’t suit your agenda. Twrong 🤡🤡
  24. ‘Wildly out of his depth’. 5 seasons in the premier league, with bournemouth might I add, with an average league position of 13th… if you say so 🙈🤡🤡🤡
  25. Pretty much as Lord D said then, cheers for clarifying.
