“Che Adams is an expectional passer” - Twar, 2 hours before he proceeds to shank a simple pass out of play 😂
-
To be honest, I think we just get found out. It takes a few games, but teams find a way to play against and exploit us.
-
I think Roy will set Watford up in a way which we historically struggle against. Deep back 4 with a bit of pace on the counter attack. We could do with an early goal just to open the game up a little. Fancy the win or a 0-0 draw.

And Broja is a vastly better at finishing (credit to Che, this has improved in his game), playing off the shoulder and carrying the ball. When Che wasn’t scoring, he was described as and people used the excuse that he was a ‘second striker’, so you’d expect his hold up play to be better, if that’s the main part of his role. I think you are vastly underestimating what Broja offers us. His lighting pace stretches teams, offering space for players like Che, Stu and Moi to have the time the need to play as well as they have been. You’ll no doubt disagree, however, not many (if any) clubs above our sort of level (mid - lower mid table), would look a Che as an exciting option. Come the summer, if Broja is available, he’ll have many suitors across many leagues. I think that speaks volumes.

Exactly the same as Tino in that case then, who people have been calling to play for England, saying he’s the next Bale, worth over 40m and has also gone through up and down patches of form. I assume he is also overrated then? Or are you going to ignore that one because you called him to be a decent player when he first signed.
-
Nice try, sir. At no point did I say your comments of him being young and likely to improve and worth c25m was a negative, I mostly agree with that (I think he’s probably worth a bit more given the current market and Chris wood being 20m and Ings, who in your words is ‘wank’, being 30m in recent windows) I called out your utter nonsense saying that he wasn’t exactly rated before coming here. so given you didn’t answer, who wasn’t he rated by… other than you it seems.
-
If i recall correctly, that was 1 person who posted that. So you’re basing your opinion that he is overrated based on 1 persons opinion…
-
Wasn’t rated by who exactly? everything I’ve seen suggested he was very highly rated by those who had watched him play. Chelsea rated him highly enough to offer a 5 year deal. He was playing international football at 19, so clearly they rated him. Ralph rated him highly. See direct quotes: Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “Armando is a very talented player who we were impressed by last season. “He is young, but he comes now with a full season of experience in senior football with a good team, and he brings a lot of qualities that can help us. “He is a strong, quick player with a good instinct and this makes him a good fit for the way we like to play. “I know how highly regarded he is by Chelsea, and I think this will be a good place for him to continue his own development as well.” Broja is rated by everyone other than you. Your negativity towards him is becoming a bit of a werid obsession, similar to your irrational dislike of Villa.

Or they have a manager who, despite what the spreadsheet experts suggest, is actually half decent.
-
So is Eddie Howe just a fraud or is he just good at spending money now, which he wasn’t at bournemouth, which is why some on here claim him to be a failure despite gaining 3 promotions and keeping a tiny club in the PL for 4 seasons.
-
Let’s not start this again. Put the beers (or spreadsheet) down fella.
-
Form is temporary, class is permanent… as the saying goes.
-
Not agree that Ings and arguable Watkins, are better than our front 2? FWIW I think of the 4 (woods, Watkins, ings, Adams and Broja) the best 2 are Ings and Broja
-
Exactly. He’s talking shite. As per.
-
Bruno over your fav JWP? Tripper (who’s not been about for last few games) over your fav Tino? Wood over your fav Adams? i reckon if we posed offering those 3 over our current players there, you’d laugh it off. Now it suits you though….
-
Who of those that they signed would you have in our starting 11?
-
I know you used to enjoy pointing out we were above them (despite them having games in hand) but were No longer above Villa, fwiw….
-
Or being a top manager 10 years ago doesn’t make you a top manager anymore. especially if the game has moved on and your tactics (Jose / Rafa as an example) haven’t.
-
Tenuous link…. Lyanco’s sister is with Maycon, who’s a Brazilian CM who plays for Shakhter. No idea if he’s any good mind you.
-
Another myth. Generally speaking, it was universally agreed on here that most wouldn't fancy Howe at the time. It was just simply that most, correctly, said he done a decent job at Bournemouth and he has continued to now do a decent job at Newcastle. Others, like yourself, fail to give him any credit which is just laughable really. The job he done at Bournemouth was fantastic.
-
Well said and the way most of the more rational non red/white painted glasses wearing posters would see it. Reality is, Howe is doing a decent job, will probably secure them mid table and be gone within a couple of seasons for a bigger name to take the next step. If that coincides with the time Ralph walks, then I’d happily be open to the possibility of him coming here (proving this Trend continues).
-
Some certain people on here have a real vendetta against Howe, even to the point where they won’t accept that he’s doing a decent job on the Toon. Ive even seen someone suggest that At bournemouth, when it went tits up, it was all him spending the money. Now, when it goes well, it’s secret agent (not yet even employed by the club) Ashworth doing all the spending. Regardless of who is or isn’t spending the dosh, he’s doing a great job there and has already, almost certainly kept them up… I suspect, if you look at the points total since he came in (around the same time our fork perked up it should be said), I bet they’re not a million miles off us.

Generally, just a bad day at the office. They happen, move on (easy to say when you’ve been on a good run!) A few observations from me: - Without Salisu, our defence is not up to scratch. Bednerak and stephens as a partnership just doesn’t work. - Villa have a real exciting team, especially going forward. No shame losing to them. - Couthino and Ings showed that form is temporary and class is permanent. Ings looked like the player they thought they were getting for 30m. I’d have loved to have seen him and Broja together for at least a season!

I got a 2 week ban for this exchange. If you think Putin is a ruthless dictator, wait until you get on the wrong side of Lighthouse…

Isn’t this the exact same logic that got your prediction or Armstrong vs Broja so incredibly incorrect? One whom never believes they are wrong, will never learn.
