In fairness, most companies have policies regarding posting negative stuff about them online. More to the point, who from those down the road is reading the forum 👀

Haha I caught it before you edited… 😉

What’s this geezers role? Assume it’s nothing to do with us and more to do with the group. What on earth does a business development bloke do at a football club?

Burnley and Brighton games re-arranged in April
Dman replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I’ve seen you play this game before. You’re getting to the point where someone says ‘because you can have a drink’ to which you’ll respond ‘why do you need to have a drink to enjoy yourself’… As I said… Odd bloke. -

Why is a Saturday game better than a Sunday game? Is there anything to even add. I’ll give it a go. Other than the absolute obvious, the atmosphere in side the ground is also better, which often contributes to a better game. -

You’re a really odd bloke, aren’t you. -
I reckon at least 10,000 are “source?”or “textbook”

There is certainly a degree of overreaction here. Villa have a really exciting side, especially going forward with some top, top players in thier front 3/4 that we could only dream of. Newcastle have vastly improved since Howe came in. He’s a decent coach who’s doing a wonderful job at completely changing the way they play. On current form they look like a top 6 side rather than a team heading for relegation as they did before Howe. Hodgson is an experienced manager who’s been there and seen it all. Sets his team up to play in a way which we always struggle. The performance wasn’t great and from what I’ve seen, the trend seems to be if Broja is playing well, then so do we. If he’s off it, then we struggle. Such is the quality and importance of him. It reminds me of Ings in 2020, as soon as his productivity dropped off, so did our results. I see no point in calling for the manager at this point in the season, baring another 9-0 loss (which wouldnt actually surprise me). Full focus on the cup, use the rest of the league season to work out who we do and don’t want to be here next season.. starting with the keeper.

This is just Like a post from 2016/17 in the Puel thread.

I don’t think we’ll get anyone who is anywhere near that level of quality. I think this just highlights how incredible our recruitment was during those years. 3 top class CB’s there.

Regarding Jankewitz, the only time anyone was really asking for him to start was at a point where we had so many injuries, that we were playing Jack Stephens in CM ffs. He was pretty highly rated at youth level and at a point where we were desperate, it made sense to those who didn’t see him day in day out, that surely it’s worth a go. It’s kind of the same now for Armstrong, despite the fact every time he’s played, he’s looked bang average and Ralph (who see’s him every day in training) clearly doesn’t trust or rate him, people are still calling for him to start. No one is saying Broja is above criticism at all. Many have rightly said, he’s young and will go through spells of form some good, some bad. Most, are calling you out because it’s absolutely clear that you made your bed at the start of the season by a ridiculous statement saying Armstrong had more potential than him, and you’ve been on an irrational spree of calling him Out and putting him down at every opportunity since. Just to try and prove you are right. Just like you did when you claimed we had a better squad than Villa and that Eddie Howe is a load of shit. To the point where the other day you were claiming that Chris wood, is better than Danny Ings, Broja and Watkins 😂
-
I think it’s a combination of that and the fact we’ve played ‘weaker’ teams who naturally sit a little deeper. And also are afraid of giving him space to run in to. just like Che is really good with his back to goal, Broja is really, really good facing the goal. That’s partially why they work well together. If / when he plays for a better team, he’ll get a ton more chances and will likely score a ton more. Hes a big lad and can (and will need to) learn to play with his back to goal to step up to the next level.
-
Agreed. Easy to say ‘the strikers aren’t scoring’, but other than a half chance from Adams, I don’t recall us creating a clear cut chance. probably the easiest game foster will have all season.
-
Well Moi scored a goal, so by that very definition, he was clearly more useful than the rest who didn’t. I wouldn’t say anyone was or wasn’t more or less useful when the whole team to a man, we’re massively under par.
-
He was shit, they were all shit. Particularly the midfield who gave the forwards absolutely nothing to work with.
-
For the sake of a never ending argument about what formation we did or didn’t play, even though the graph does show he and Che were practically side by side, let’s just say that he’s 4th choice, still behind….. Shane fucking Long. FWIW, I don’t think Armstrong deserves a chance, he’s been garbage pretty much every time I’ve seen him play.
-
Yep. We’re so easy to play against. If you come and attack us, we’ll give you a good game. Especially with players like Broja who can run in behind. And Che, Armstrong and Moi finding space in the pockets. When you sit deep and give us the ball, preventing us getting in behind, we’re really, really average.
-
Eh? He had 1 header which was easily saved. As a team we created fucked all today. Ironically, if the great passer himself had slid through Moi when we were 2v1 we’d have ended the half level… ingoring this one though.
-
Smallbone played in an advanced central position. As the graft shows, basically next to Adams and the positions Adams tends to take up when he’s playing with another striker. give it whatever fancy name you want, I’ve not actually said we played him upfront, just that we didn’t play 4141 as Twrong claimed.
-
In your opinion. Everyone else, would disagree with that. But I’m sure you’re right though…
-
Cool story. Not 4141 though is it. That was blindingly obvious for anyone who watched the game. As I said in the match thread, it was a poor selection. As Adams naturally drops deep into a ‘10’ type position and having him, smallbone, Armstrong and Moi in there it become massively overcrowded with no striker playing off the shoulder. ironically, it probably would have suited Broja much more in the first half. Second half, for much of it, he was shoved out the the right wing and we played more of a 433
-
Well other than it being blatantly obvious that Smallbone was playing higher up the pitch, these things are also tracked. See below.
-
No we didn’t. This was debunked in the match thread. We needed a goal and he brought on Shane Long, over Armstrong. This isn’t the first time and there have also been times where They’ve both started and Armstrong has come off and Long has stayed on.
-
Absolutely no one was ‘effective’ today. All fucking shite. Hence why we’ve just been made to look like the side who should be in the bottom 3, by Watford ffs.
-
The same Armstrong who is now 5th choice behind a midfielder and a 35 year old who has scored about 2 goals in 5 seasons. I’m not privy to what goes on in training, but I’d say there must be a reason why…
