You specifically ignored Armstrong’s chance from your list of 3 big mistakes that cost us, which has started this mass debate. To me, that is because of 1 of 2 reasons. 1. Because you’ve been banging on about Armstrong for the past 2 weeks and don’t want to lose ground in your assault of Broja. 2. You’re just absolutely clueless when it comes to football other than reading %’s from a spreadsheet. Please provide any posts where I have said San Marino, Jankowiz or Pompey were class? I tell you what, don’t bother looking cos that’s a lie to try and deflect the argument and won’t find any. I cba to get into that debate again. Note you still haven’t acknowledged that Armstrong should have scored, despite demonstrating 2 other, harder, opportunities where scored 😂😂

The right call. Been fantastic for 18 month or so now, very much deserved. On current form, should be a shoe in for the WC squad based on his ability to play either side. Very unfortunate to play at a time where England are blessed with RB’s who are world class. Similar to Bridge being behind Cole.

This same line comes out every time you’re losing a debate. There’s a thread dedicated to your utter nonsense pal.. I think that says a lot.
-
Yep, happy to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong in that respect. We signed a top striker, who was better than anyone expected who’s pushed us up the league.
-
Wtf are you rambling on about now?
-
You’re trying to justify why he shouldn’t have scored by showing examples of 2 similar chances that were errr…. scored? what was Djenepo XG for his goal in that game, a similar opportunity to Armstrong, another goal.
-
Watch it back. AA was running on the the ball, it was perfectly weighted. Any striker worth their salt puts that away 8 or 9 times out of 10. AA being off balance and the ball getting stuck under his feet is an indication of his ability, not the difficultly of the chance. As for Twar, he thinks he knows best constantly. Never willing to admit he’s wrong. He made a ridiculous statement about Adam Armstrong’s ‘ceiling’ and has been scrambling weekly to try and justify it. It’s got to the point where it’s almost laughable.

Those two chances aren’t even remotely similar. 1. look at the keepers position. Very good from Ramsdale, poor from the city keeper. 2. look at the defenders around Ings and sliding towards the back post, which is where he’d have to hit the ball to score. Unless you’ve got the ability to whip it near post (very hard finish). 3. Ings you’d need to take a touch bend in the corner. Armstrong was running onto the ball and could easily put his foot through it. Poor argument to try and justify your weak argument.

I wonder what the XG was of that attempt.
-
Should he have scored that, yes or no?
-
Hang on, just to get this correct. You do not think that this (photo below, just as he was about the strike the ball is a “should be scoring chance?” LMFAO. They don’t get any easier.
-
Does it actually matter. Anyone who has played from tyro - the champions league would be able to tell you that Armstrong’s chance was a sitter which he should be scoring. That’s ultimately what this argument has come from. if you honestly believe that his attempt was simply unlucky, because it hit the post, that says a lot about your knowledge of football. Or agenda…

I wouldn’t go that far, personally. To be fair he seems a little rash and I think we could probably do with a ready made starter. Him and salisu would worry me as both lack that experience. I do think, with time, he certainly could improve though. He’s a bit of a beast. His header (off the bar) against Chelsea was fantastic. I’d like to see him replace Salisu (hopefully the summer after next), with a bit of a leader brought in this summer. Worell from forest looks like he could fit that bill.

How many Torino, São Paulo, or Bologna games did you watch? My guess is 0.
-
I don’t think we’ve seen anywhere near enough of Lyanco to come to that conclusion.
-
Are we just ignoring his goal against West Ham, which was 5 games ago? And besides that, he was arguably MOTM against United, which was 2 games before that and scored against totenham which was the game before United. So yes, it’s fair to say he’s been ‘off form’ for 4 games and not ‘Months’… he’s been inconsistent, which is to be expected of a 20 year old playing his first season the the premier league for a lower mid table team.
-
Agree. I thought it was really obvious that half time was the right time to bring on Broja for Armstrong. I don’t think long was doing all too badly. His job was to press and he was doing that well, but with the game being so open and city chasing the game to a degree, it would have been perfect for Broja.
-
Or perhaps we just need to find a new way to break these teams down. This squad was perfectly fine at that since Christmas until 4 games ago… But the point still stands that regardless of how much you create, if your strikers can’t put them away, you won’t win games. In an ideal world, we’d have the funds to improve both areas. I suspect that won’t be the case though.

0 wins in 4 now. A blip in the road or the start of a Ralph special run? Certinly feels like that bounce after the new owners has now dropped and the atmosphere is turning for the worst again (see comments regarding Bednerak and a few key players gone off the boil massively - Broja, salisu as an example). Big chance to bounce back against Leeds, but lose that, and I’ll be worried for the rest of the season.
-
Disagree, which I guess will Come as no surprise. Yesterday we created plenty to win the game, just had no one to stick the ball away. There’s a reason why Forwards often demand a higher fee, that’s because they win you games. As shown by Broja when he’s fit and firing or Ings in 2020. Pay cheap, pay twice. As we’ve seen by Armstrong and to a degree Che (if we want a goal scorer and not a ‘second striker’). I know it was done to death and I don’t want to get into that again, but a decent finisher / striker on the end of those chances yesterday and were in the semi final of the cup. They’re your match winners.

It’s a real worry when you’re in a situation where valery is considered a viable starting option at CB. Arguably our second best CB atm.
-
No evidence? Other than the countless premier league goals scored from that position, that premier league keepers don’t save. pretty sure Broja scored one earlier this season, as did Adams against United. weak argument, getting yourself in knots trying to defend the undefendable.
-
Again, clearly never played the game. I CBA to explain why Armstrong’s chance was easier. Both poor though.
-
No one is blaming Adam Armstrong for the loss. His misses played a part, just like the other 3 you singled out. You intentionally left him out because you don’t want to admit you’re wrong.
-
Anyone who thinks that miss was unlucky just because it hit the post and a clean strike would have resulted in the keeper saving it, is a very clear indication of someone who doesn’t know a great deal about football though. or just so ignorant and unwilling to admit they’re wrong, so continue to dig…. I think it’s probably somewhere between the 2.
