  1. Agree. I thought it was really obvious that half time was the right time to bring on Broja for Armstrong. I don’t think long was doing all too badly. His job was to press and he was doing that well, but with the game being so open and city chasing the game to a degree, it would have been perfect for Broja.
  2. Or perhaps we just need to find a new way to break these teams down. This squad was perfectly fine at that since Christmas until 4 games ago… But the point still stands that regardless of how much you create, if your strikers can’t put them away, you won’t win games. In an ideal world, we’d have the funds to improve both areas. I suspect that won’t be the case though.
  3. 0 wins in 4 now. A blip in the road or the start of a Ralph special run? Certinly feels like that bounce after the new owners has now dropped and the atmosphere is turning for the worst again (see comments regarding Bednerak and a few key players gone off the boil massively - Broja, salisu as an example). Big chance to bounce back against Leeds, but lose that, and I’ll be worried for the rest of the season.
  4. Disagree, which I guess will Come as no surprise. Yesterday we created plenty to win the game, just had no one to stick the ball away. There’s a reason why Forwards often demand a higher fee, that’s because they win you games. As shown by Broja when he’s fit and firing or Ings in 2020. Pay cheap, pay twice. As we’ve seen by Armstrong and to a degree Che (if we want a goal scorer and not a ‘second striker’). I know it was done to death and I don’t want to get into that again, but a decent finisher / striker on the end of those chances yesterday and were in the semi final of the cup. They’re your match winners.
  5. It’s a real worry when you’re in a situation where valery is considered a viable starting option at CB. Arguably our second best CB atm.
  6. No evidence? Other than the countless premier league goals scored from that position, that premier league keepers don’t save. pretty sure Broja scored one earlier this season, as did Adams against United. weak argument, getting yourself in knots trying to defend the undefendable.
  7. Again, clearly never played the game. I CBA to explain why Armstrong’s chance was easier. Both poor though.
  8. No one is blaming Adam Armstrong for the loss. His misses played a part, just like the other 3 you singled out. You intentionally left him out because you don’t want to admit you’re wrong.
  9. Anyone who thinks that miss was unlucky just because it hit the post and a clean strike would have resulted in the keeper saving it, is a very clear indication of someone who doesn’t know a great deal about football though. or just so ignorant and unwilling to admit they’re wrong, so continue to dig…. I think it’s probably somewhere between the 2.
  10. He was probably aiming for the corner, but he’s lucky to have even hit the post. His scuffed the shot, if he hadn’t and was aiming for the corner, it would have gone in?
  11. Stop digging pal.
  12. Fuck me. Absolute rubbish, clearly, you’ve never played the game or just that you’re scrambling to find an excuse to back up your opinion you’re coming out with total nonsense. If you believe it was intentional for him to do that, crack on. But fucking hell, you’re shot away if so.
  13. 1 on 1 less than 12 yards out is only a half chance mate
  14. Each to their own. I’d much rather a player who given those chances actually has the ability to stick it away. I don’t know why you keep saying he was unlucky. It’s was a dreadful attempt, that’s the only reason it hit the post because it was struck soo badly.
  15. Half chance!!? Behave. Any striker of premier league quality should and would have put his first chance away. The reason he hit the post is because of lack of quality in the strike, hit it clean, it goes in. It wasn’t unlucky at all, it was poor finishing. His second was also, what I’d consider, a really good chance for someone who’s playing in the premier league.
  16. Reminded me in a way of the one against Tottenham, where he lunged in and got sent off as well. He’s clearly got potential and for the most has been top class. He’s certainly not at the level Van Dijk was whilst with us. Needs to take a step up before going to a ‘big 6’ team imo. Newcastle would be a good fit, could see him going there in the summer.
  17. Notibly ignored Armstrong’s misses. Jesus, you really won’t admit you’re wrong, will you 😂
  18. As I said; the game at that point had changed. City were a lot more compact and it was tough for both strikers. Its Pointless making good runs if you’ve got 0 ability to put them away amd scuff every shot you have. If you seriously reckon that was intentional for him to scuff it and guide it on to the post, then clearly you’re absolutely deluded. Despite being on the pitch for 1/4 of the time, he actually only made 1 less pass; as seen below. Don’t get me wrong, Broja didn’t offer a great deal, but neither did Armstrong. So call him out rather than being hypocritical. But you won’t, as that doesn’t suit your agenda.
  19. Other than Broja coming on at a point where the game had completely changed, I do agree that Broja was pretty non existent. He came on too late. ultimately though, had he been on the end of the chances Armstrong had, I suspect the outcome would have been different. he only hit the post because he scuffed him shot (as with all other chances he had), had he struck that cleanly, we’d have been 1-0 up rather than 1-0 Down. Big mistake.
  20. A CB and a decent striker (not a championship gamble) are a must this summer if we want to progress. Id love us to sign Broja, but I think it’s looking unlikely given the situation at Chelsea. But even so, we also need another to complement him him. on top of that, a number 10 would be nice. Get rid, if possible, of Stephens, Theo, long, smallbone and the rest of the deadwood.
  21. Had it not been for the misses, I wouldn’t have known he was on the pitch in the first half.
  22. Broja was quiet when he came on at a point where the game had gone, but I’d stick my Mortage on him taking one of those Armstrong chances. Also would have been perfect at running in behind.
  23. My summary. Played really well for 60/70 minutes. Shoulda/coulda/(starting our regular strikers) woulda been 2/3 up and probably out of sight. Last 30 after the pen, was pretty poor but City are an unreal team who can bring on some unreal players, which we can’t. Stephens, time to move him on. Just not good enough. Salisu, looked bang average and making mistakes post injury. To me, doesn’t look fit. A.Armstrong, other than 3 or 4 scuffed shots offered us nothing. I’d be amazed if he had more than 5 touches in the first half.
  24. 😂😂😂😂 Fucking Mike dean. How dare he not give city another 3/4 minutes to probably stick another past us, especially at 4-1. Wanker. Probably already planing his post match celebrations.
  25. Unfortunately came on at a point where the game had changed. Needed to come on at half time (if not start), game went from being open to completely shut after the pen.
