Fuck me, clearly we weren’t watching the same game 😂😂😂
-
I’m not ‘rimming’ villa. Lighthouse pointed out we’ll never be able to compete with their squad. I just pointed out that we were supposedly better than them. It was nonsense at the time, it’s still nonsense now. has Ralph done well this season. I’d say on par with what you’d expect with our squad in this league. had we not had the run of form after Christmas to the middle / end of feb, then it would be a poor one. Regardless, performances like today (and on 2 other occasions) worry me significantly. Especially given the fact we have one every season.

Has there been a worse home performance in recent memory?
Dman replied to saint1977's topic in The Saints
In short, no. Easily the worst performance I’ve ever seen (arguably by anyone). Forster the only player to come away with any Credit (he was fantastic). Another day, with another striker playing, and another keeper in goal, that is 10+. Just imagine if Lukaku was fit. Absolutely shambolic. -
We were told, by someone with far greater knowledge (supposedly) than most, that our squad is better than Villa’s. People were raving about Salisu, JWP, KWP, Tino, Armstrong, Romeu etc. Only a few weeks ago. Now because we’re in a poor run, all of a sudden, our squad is shit again. if all our ambition is to stay up, then get Dyche or big in. It won’t be pretty, but we’ll end up roughly the same place and won’t face the absolute hammering each season. There are plenty of managers out there who/could would match what Ralph has achieved with us. I trust this new mob running the club, to find them.
-
Wrong on all accounts. saints lucky Werner can’t finish, or it would have been 10. chelsea unlucky Forster turned up. ref, had nothing to do.
-
It’s been happening for 3 seasons now. It won’t change under this manager.
-
Sorry I meant in the time he’s been in charge, he obviously is an upgrade on the Hughes / MoPo times. as for an upgrade, it’s a weak argument. Many managers out there, some will be an improvement some might not. Just like when Ralph took over, you won’t know unless you try.
-
Worse imo. A lot worse.
-
You’ve lost the plot mate. Theres a good chance we could finish 16th or even as low as 17th. He’s been backed for 3/4 seasons now and we’ve not improved and we’re still throwing out a performance like this as season. This, today, has been worse than the 2 9-0’s by a long way imo. We’re lucky it’s not double figures and that’s isn’t an understatement. Hugely over rated manager. If our ambition is to stay in the league, let’s get someone like dyche in and save the embarrassment of a performance like this each season. If we want to push on, let’s spend a bit and get a new manager in to help us get there. Ralph isn’t that man, far too inconsistent.
-
Injuries or something… innit.
-
Simply has to go. I do not understand how anyone could back him.
-
He was man of the match against United, but didn’t score. Does that mean he’s not in form?
-
I don’t disagree. As a team we’ve been shite for weeks, the strikers have been feeding off scraps, yet you dig out Broja… so far is far and all that.
-
Exactly. Never at fault for the bad runs, but always takes the credit for the good ones. which coincidently, happen the same time as a striker ings last season, Broja this, find some Form. As soon as they drop off, so do we.
-
Armstrong & Che completely anonymous…. Again.
-
Forster earned his contract today imo. If there is any debate on who’s better, if McCarthy was in goal, this is 8-0 at half time.
-
Probably MOTM so far, which says a lot for someone who’s conceded 4 in 30 minutes.
-
Let’s hope so. Time for a freshen up imo, we cannot continue with runs and results like this. Should have got Howe in December when we had the chance.
-
As suspected a Ralph special run has begun. As with every Ralph special run it includes a fucking hammering. Let’s hope We can avoid 9 this time.
-
He’s been anonymous, as has Adams. Almost as if the fact Broja has gone off the boil says more about the way we’ve played as a team at the minute, rather than him.
-
If he thought he had a chance of getting first team football, he wouldn’t have left, would he. So yes, they did let him go.
-
The money spent is such an easy cop out imo. Yes, they spend and certainly over spent on Wood. However, As we’ve just established, Tripper and Bruno (the 2 better players) have hardly played really. Howe has changed the whole playing style of the club, improved many and been without 2 key players in Tripper and Wilson for a large chunk of his spell. Then again, I wouldn’t expect you to understand. It probably hasn’t been posted on Reddit.
-
Funny enough, I think the same. He needs it. Let’s hope 1 will bring a few.
-
Ready to admit he’s done a good job there then and your judgement was incorrect?
-
Tripper has been injured for about 2 months and has played 4 games. Bruno has been on the bench more than he’s started (4 again). So not all that weird really. But I know, like Broja, you hate Howe so will never give him credit.
