  1. I want a lamborghini, but if I walk in the shop and offer £6k for it, I would know that I don't really have a true intention of buying it.
  2. Surprisingly i actually tend to agree with you. I'm not massively worried about our transfer strategy, I think we've built a really, really good championship side should we face the drop this season and will be in a position to bounce back alot stronger in the process. We still have way to many high earners we need to shift and/or players who just aren't good enough. This season is going to be really painful, but I think in the long term, it'll prove to be a fairly good buisness plan (providing we invest well bounce back again next season)
  3. I wonder if there is a world where we might be intersted in bringing back JWP on loan. He's clearly not going to get a look in at WHU and whilst I think hes limited and overrated, he would bring experience and be able to hit the ground running. For me, someone like JWP on loan with an option, would be much better value for money than O'riely at £30m.
  4. Whilst we have him, we might as well had use him. If anything, he'll give defenders something to think about, but I really just dont know if he suits how we'll want to play. That being said, he's a big lad and can / should be able to hold the ball up well enough. Has proven in multiple (all be it lesser quatlity) leauges, so can clearly put the ball away. For the peanuts being offered, we might as well keep him and see if he can offer us anything.
  5. We don't need him. Thanks for the efforts last season, deccent bloke and great in the dressing room, but he's not going to improve our squad.
  6. Good player. Instant upgrade on Charles and smallbone, would be great cover for Downes or to play next to him to make us a little more solid.
  7. Its been far from dead in the offical COT group chat. VERY interesting. That's all I can say for now, but make of that what you will.
  8. Its also why we battle with relegation every year and will likley struggle to survive this season.
  9. I don't dissagree. As a newly promoted side, probably not a gamble we should take - espeically after so recently being stung for half of that for a player with very limited championship experience and a dubious injury record. As an established PL side, say wolves, £25 is probably worth the risk

    Tyler Dibling

That role would be absoultely perfect for Alcaraz.
  11. Still better value than this danish bloke imo
  12. More chance he'll get a perforated eardrum from a few murmerings of "fuck off you mackem twat" and be out for 6 months.
  13. GK: Dubravka (loan) AM: Mctee (Loan with mandatory purchase if we stay up in the mold of the THB) ST: Nketiah £20m improves our side no end and stops the messing around with Celtic over an unproven player they want £30m for. If we're being really greedy - Lets try for Amad Diallo. But He'll be in the united squad this season, i'm ure of it.
  14. Because £25m is next to nothing for a player with PL experience & bags of potential. Gone are the days of picking up ready made top half PL players for 10-15m.
  15. Enlighten us with all you know about the geezer, in this case please.
  16. they're both shite. Move on.
  17. At this price, we'd have been better off pushing for Emile smith-rowe
  18. I like this look of this lad. At 6m (or there abouts), it feels like a bit of a no brainer / low risk gamble. He can't be anyworse than Mara.
  19. doesn't doesn't count for a great deal... He looks really handy from the highlights and stats, but he didn't make it into the Denmark squad for the latest euros....
  20. yeah I like it. Feels a bit like the last time we were promoted when we had a great team dynamic and added to that buy signing top young championship players (Jay-rod and Clyne) with some real experience (Steven Davis).
  21. Do we even need him? not sure we do...
  22. Nosies suggest we're looking to get another forward in. I suspect he's a replacement for Brooks / Fraser.
  23. Is that right? being honest, last season is already a bt of a blur, but I thought from Jan onwards, Brooks was playing on the right? But I guess a front 3 of BBD <someone> AA could work pretty nicely. Still wouldn't mind seeing Alcaraz played through the middle.. I wonder if BBD ability to speak spanish might help..
  24. I don't see how we get both in the side. Both look incredibly similar imo. Neither good enough to play through the middle and both like cuttting in from the left.
  25. If we let Charles go, we'll need to replace him. His replacement will need to be good enough to fill in when needed (Downes injury record is questionable) but have an acceptance that all being well, they'll be on the bench for 90% of games. Better the devil you know imo. I'd keep Charles...
