  1. VA ruining my line about giving USB some stick. 🙂
  2. Baz: The first 'keeper to concede when a photo is shot. 🙂
  3. Dear Airport security, SaintsWeb would just like to point out that the phrase "shoot down" is being used in a completely different context. Please let Turks continue to travel the world looking for kids. Edit: Dear Airport security, SaintsWeb would just like to point out that the above post that was pointing out things being taken out of context, should also not be taken out of context. Please let Turkish continue to continue his secret work for the global CoT organisation. A group so secret, it's too classified for your red flag list. Edit to edit: Dear Airport security, It has come to our attention that Turkish is still in custody, following our earlier communications...
  4. "...in response to some hostages being taken...." @sadoldgit it would appear that in your rush to make a point/ insult another poster, you've let a mask slip with that comment. It would fall into being a vile thing to say. Perhaps those who you say are calling you that have a point?
  5. And that works both ways. Our lot were going through a bit of a slump, and came into the bar afterwards. They were a bit sheepish, but got encouragement and support. It made a difference to them. Their first big slump as a side. But we've had the joy of seeing loads over the years. 🙂 The social side is good, as mentioned. But when they bring in loads of sandwiches, having got in too much for hospitality, that's even better. Never mind the eerie silence between club and fans. Not when you go to the same supermarket as the committee members. Being on first name terms and having little chats with pretty much everyone, after a while. And that happens whether you think you want it to or not, and no matter how introverted you are. You're just slowly connected through your community. Fairly new to an area? Take in a few local games and get massive amounts of local history, football knowledge and great stories from the older guys who've been attending for decades. Like a really good episode of Cheers, with some football added. 🙂 So yeah, if for whatever reason, getting to a Saints game isn't on, then fresh air, community, good value and mental health boosts aren't far away.
  6. And he has stabilised us. We can now go into every game safely in the knowledge of getting nothing out of it. 🙂
  7. I do the same. A short walk away. Meet up with people you know, and meet lots more you'll get to know, in your community. Feel connected in a way the Premier League and clubs dismissive of "legacy" fans have lost. Competitive football, good afternoons out (and closer to away fixtures too, when the urge strikes) and supporting a club that works hard for every penny through lots of volunteers.
  8. Couldn't the club just pretend to buy another left back, using the money instead to finance the women's team?
  9. Who needs scouts, when you have algorithms? SR have even revolutionised this. They've removed input devices, turning it all into one large, tombola working lever. Let's give it a go... Young talent bought in bulk on the off chance one comes good. Left backs. Players that fit our departed manager, but not our new one. Players with chronic injury records. Left field SR know best. No players at the market rate. Low individual wages. Even if having to then buy in bulk, to not succeed, makes this a false economy. No defensive midfielders or strikers of note. No PL requirements. SR are smarter than needing players who can cope there. They just need players to sell. No players with independent thoughts of their own. All the better for fitting into our lunatic tactics without a murmer. Up and coming managers. Never anyone with proven track record, who might want thingss their own way. SR know better than them. SR are far from the world's worst owners. They've put in money and have good intentions. But, boy are they clueless.
  10. It's the Napoli basketball team that want him.
  11. Not Mr Barton https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj92k80m7llo
  12. Well done. You don't see it in published diet plans, but not eating babies really made the difference here. So much for the Mediterranean diet. Well, the Cronus version of it anyway.
  13. SR decide to get Ronald into oversee their 10 year plan...
  14. Not having that SR focus probably saves them from relegation. 🙂 SR have certainly made it harder to sit through. Maybe they do have a master plan to drive fans towards the women's team. 🙂
  15. HR having at least a couple of meetings this week. 🙂 Where I am, the fervour of ideological capture that was sweeping a lot of large companies, has gone into the background. A lot of companies disassociated themselves from Stonewall programmes. It took a while to realise paying a company lots of money to embed itself and any ideas it had, whether legal or not, or be labelled hateful, wasn't a good idea. Like BLM, it turns out that we had sensible, robust policies in place all along, without having to jump on bandwagons or flagellate ourselves in public, if we weren't part of a group. Which seems to please everyone regardless of whether they have protected characteristics or not. Not a soul was keen on having unisex toilets put into new buildings. Something more money was spent on to give some separation to. I do still use a rainbow lace to find a lanyard in my bag. Very useful. The other is still in a bag of cat toys.
  16. And he was worth every penny of that. Edit: And he was worth a penny of that. 🙂
  17. His second division Andorran team will find out at the end of his first season. 🙂
  18. It's good that players can develop through clubs playing at different levels. Top division in Turkey, lower down but aiming to go up in France and the National League in England. 🙂
  19. Oddly enough, Spors is looking at how transferable bowling coaching badges are with UEFA, combining SR's left field approach with the increased entertainment you mention. And obviously more points from the bowling coach than Juric, Martin, Selles and Jones would get. 🙂
  20. And in support, show them that you also think Tesla is number one, by displaying a single digit. I'm sure that won't be seen as something it's not. 🙂
  21. Peev out of the way first. The Beeb headline is "Rangers embarrassed by 'shameful' banner after Uefa charges" The Rangers statement did not call the banner "shameful" The word "shameful" was around them being in a position to face a UEFA charge. "For the club to be charged with such a matter in 2025 is shameful," it said. It's an annoyance because the headline is inaccurate. Where there are inaccuracies, there is room for an interpretation of bias. Needlessly so, as Rangers were very clear about what they thought of the people involved. "...disdain for those responsible will be shared by the overwhelming majority of our supporters." "For the avoidance of doubt, if you do not believe in 2025 that absolutely everyone is welcome to follow Rangers whether at Ibrox or away, then Rangers is not the club for you, and you should disassociate yourself with the club immediately." Their statement went on to list a number of other incidents that could/will/have brought sanctions. A lot of Rangers supporters have no idea what the banner meant either. Mainly, because they don't think along the lines of the people responsible for it. What it's in response to could be a Muslim related (they held an end of Ramadan event) or a rainbow flag thing (one was displayed at some point), or support for broader "anti-woke" movements, for reasons known only to the people behind it. The "foreign out" followed by "defend Europe" is going to be interpreted as racism, whatever the reasons they may have had. Pretty much all with an opinion think whatever it was stupid, done by a tiny minority of people that don't speak for them, and they, and the club are more that tired of them. The club has had plenty of issues with some of their support. They know the rules and likely repercussions, but a minority still do it. The statement asking them to kindly sod off indicates the end to whatever patience they have, is getting closer.
