  1. There goes my "How many of Our Team Of The Future will be in the England World Cup team in 10 years?" thread. I could have run it in parallel with the "How many seconds before someone points out the non English players in the How many of Our Team Of The Future will be in the England World Cup team in 10 years time sweepstake" thread. Ah well, instead I'll think about the England legend Jansen would have been, had he joined us. 😊
  2. Thanks to those behind setting it up. Looking forward to the content.
  3. Confinement
  4. Is there an "add files" button under each bit where you type your posts? It accesses the images on my device when I try it.
  5. I'd like to confirm that neither my cat, the postman nor my neighbours gran will be joining Newcastle this window. Despite a steely midfield general temperament, and undoubted skill with cat toy balls, my cat considers them to be sportswashing clowns. No doubt the rest of you will be getting desperate pleas from that most special of clubs to join them before the window slams shut in their faces. "Please join us...anyone...even if you've only played table football."
  6. Was Ekitike the guy they wanted £35m for. Newcastle offered £30m with add ons including a bonus if Newcastle won the Champions League?
  7. Yay! Good news.
  8. That took long enough. The horse has not only bolted, but has nipped off to the travel agent and is on a nice mid winter break.
  9. Broja has a Chelsea contract until 2026. He's doing well with us. Why would he risk his progression at this point, to join a desperate basket case club, who are in a relegation fight? Even if Newcastle were to survive, there's no guarantee he'd not find his path blocked again, as Newcastle buy in more marquee signings every season. Another scenario has him playing in the Championship for at least a season, when he could be playing in the Premier League. It would be lovely if he could join us. But options of us extending the loan deal into future seasons might suit Chelsea and Broja more. Broja could really establish himself over the next couple of seasons, with us or a club playing in Europe on loan. Then have his pick of a number of clubs. If Newcastle were realising the champions League aspirations they had as clauses in recent contract offers, then they could be one of his options then. It seems a bigger risk to be joining them now, and hoping it all goes well, considering it's a club linked with everyone and with no decent planning in place.
  10. It's another string our transfer bow. In addition to showing that top academy players have a definite chance of first team football here, we could also attract talented players who are struggling/unwanted at their parent clubs. A win-win. We've seen Lindgard and Coutinho be transformative players. Perhaps it's an area we can do well in too.
  11. I heard that Mark E Smith had abandoned his roots, faked his death and has been responsible for all the Watford sackings. Old habits dying hard.
  12. Thanks for pointing out the climate emergency of discarded Watford managers clogging up our oceans Dr who. Fortunately Watford managers are reusable. For example, if relegated, you can rehire the one who got you promoted last time, but who got chucked for not being in the top 6 after a month.
  13. He had to wait, so he could point Romeu out to his mom. "Mom! That's the one who said he'd give me a wedgie! Moooooooom!" Utter man-child.
  14. Did Shipperley flash into your mind?
  15. With the problems in recent times with statues, I'm sure they'd be grateful for ideas on how to keep their Penas statue erect.
