The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Holmes_and_Watson replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Oh no! You're not catching me out with your....optimism. No sir! I shall continue to expect nothing, and be delighted with our performances. -

Oh thanks TWar! I missed that. I now want to know how Salisu can develop his long throws to be like a new Rory Delap (but Delap for other teams. I don't remember it working that well for us)

Did Stephens and McCarthy sign new deals? So we can have more accurate idle speculation about summer transfers.

Perfectly normal to want to mitigate future risks. ๐ The likes of Newcastle check both the richer and disgusting club boxes, so want them to go down more than the others. There's some Sheldon bloke who's not long joined who might be interested.

Got to feel sorry for the lass in the NZ v USA game today

And she'll have the match ball to treasure too. I did feel sorry for her, particularly the second one. -

Some sort of loan deal, where Chelsea have so many registered players they have to get rid on deadline day and pay most of his wages. Not too many scnearios come to mind.
-
Had Wolves passed that with Schmeichal so far out, they would have got a third. I had some sympathy for that second one. While the Wolves striker wasn't interfering, I'd have thought Schmeichal would have been adjusting his poistion for a player who was offside. 5 without a win for Leicister now.

I was a fan of The Cult's follow up album to She Sells Sanctuary: Hasenhรผttl hawks hasenpfeffer...

KWP was running them ragged down that flank. Then to mess with them even more, KWP moved in a little, to allow JWP space down that side. And that was in the last 5 mins or so. ๐ Everton had no chance of coping with them. Tireless work across the team today. If Lampard is expecting high energy output form his team, today will have been a stark lesson in how far he has to go to make it work.

Saints are ranked 50th best side in the world
Holmes_and_Watson replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
Data analysts rate team well known for data analysis very highly shocker. ๐ -
That was true enough. Shocker of a half from him. You get the feeling that he's likely to have quite a few shockers too.
-
It's quite nice to see players who are solid and then come into the game, compared to some earlier games where we struggled a bit second half, and maybe had a drop off in quality.

That's what I took out of a lot of the interview. Semmens wasn't running away with black box delusions. He said that while we'd like to hold onto some fantastic players, we are more than willing to be a key part of their pathway, for them to achieve everything they can in their career. He set out a win win for any player looking to play regularly at a great standard, in one of the best leagues around. Hopefully lots of top players at academies, out of favour at their own clubs or looking to kick start their chances will be looking at us as a club they'd love to be part of.

no flare or flair either

So, that's a squad with 500m spent on it. Ouch. Not in the same class as us today. Loads of good performances again, with a couple of silly moments later on (Adams giving the ball away, and a near mix up at the back), but vastly more pluses. Great to see Long on the scoresheet. Always like him to do well.
-
we are doing well from headers recently. Good header.

and sure enough. yay!

right. now for a class in finishing. Shane's on ๐... love for him to get one.
