As their big flag said, imagine being them. It brings a tear to the eye, although that could be the tear gas. Then add more hurt, as it means so much more to them, than us mere mortals who are only fans of other clubs.

Liverpool bossed most of the half. But you could see the out ball Madrid were looking for, and they were hiding their time until the chance came. A couple of little fumbles from Liverpool gave Madrid openings, and TAA had a couple of misplaced passes early on. With Madrid looking stronger at the end of the half, it should be a good second half. They said the Liverpool fans had nearly all got in early on. Hopefully everyone is safe.

True. There's no guarantee of success. I don't know the level of investment either. I read an article a while back about US investment at all levels of the pyramid. There would seem to be a wide set of backgrounds interested in having their own club. As I type, I note Wrexham have just lost in a play off final. I don't know where miltonaggro heard about the Depp consortium. 🙂

Perhaps they'll get Alex Crook to make sure the new owners are rich, and deserving, enough to be in the Premier League. 😆 Their teams have capitulated even more than we've managed to do in spells in their last two top flight seasons. I'm sure they expected more from their players, and I guess have concluded that to get up and stabilise takes more resources than they have. Another warning to our lot that other clubs are looking to push forward.

Good point about Crocker. So good, I noticed someone editing their post shortly afterwards to incorporate it. 🙂

I hope it's something I never hear us saying. A chest thumping, conceited gesture that fans of one club are special, or the most passionate, or deserving, or as connected to their communities, or have had more highs and lows, or somehow have deeper feelings for the game. Things that could be said for any number of clubs. So, as a phrase, it couldn't mean less to me.

It's good that you're not just writing them off on results, and that you're willing to see what squad we have assembled. It can take some time for some things to fall into place, but hopefully lots of green shoots (any kind of shooting would be nice) by then.

He's one I'd hope stays as well. He's done pretty much everything Ralph has asked of him, in a variety of roles. But not long left on his current deal.

The worry is that those other voices will dilute the focused, driven instructions Ralph gives, resulting in an unskilled looking team bereft of ideas and confidence. 🙂

Hats off to the club. That is great news. I thought they'd progress more gradually towards it. A round of applause for their commitment to the team.

I think it would have been the new ownership's discussions with Ralph that have led to it. Itcwill be interesting to see who comes in. New faces and relationships should shake things up, not to mention the coaching skills they'll have. We're going to be a bit miffed, when the new coaches turn out all to have had playing careers as goalkeepers. 🙂
