Love this post. I often get angry with football and the saints much to my wifes annoyance , but every now and then I realise why I have saints in my blood. My dad took me and my brother into the Milton end in the late 70's and we were hooked. He started in the late 60's early 70's as he had started working at Hants and Dorset Shirley depot and got dragged along to matches as a social thing with what turned out to be long lasting friends. Stories of seeing the players running up hill lane on fitness trials and offering them lifts in the buses he was test driving as they were too lazy to completely their training awkward made me laugh...π€£.. Any way my son is 18 now and 3rd gen saints and now at uni is still coming to games with me and blaming me for dumping saints on him .. Can't escape... And despite the moaning and annoyance at recent results I always will be saints...

Well, me and the now 18 year old lad have left the safety of the old family center corner of the last 10 years and have ventured into block 46.. Look forward to not having 5 year olds doing the waaankaa sign and disinterested parents nodding off... Should be a blast.. As long as the seats have been cleaned after seasons of away fans rs's... I'm sure everyone will be moaning about something after a few games and harping back for the good old days.....

Probably posted elsewhere but mildly amusing and ultimately true...

Essentially we have spent to stay still. Not getting promoted would of seen us significantly worse of in a competitive championship. I get everyone's frustrations at lack of action beyond the current spending but as many have said we are in a ruck and a hard place and knew this at the end of last season. Nothing has changed.. We Had to get promoted to stay still and we hope it's enough to be better than three other teams... I'm expecting little this season...as it suits a large chunk of us are... But who knows... Maybe things will click and we do the bare minimum to stay up.....

Being a Saints fan rather than one of the elite

Was lucky enough to be in Seattle last month for work and wore my saints t shirt out and about. Got tickets to a Sounders game at Lumen field (amazing stadium..) and was befriended by several locals in bars and at the game chatting about return to premier league etc.. Most have big clubs they follow in UK but a couple have random cities they adopted after visits in the past. Lots of respect and knowledge about Southampton... Similarities with Seattle as a port city.. Although Seattle slightly more attractive! Weirdest thing is the number of Wrexham shirts and fansππ.. That Ryan Reynolds has a lot to answer for! -

What a day . Block 133 behind the goal was mental.. Fantastic support all game and the end was fantastic.. No voice but what else is that to say... Safe travels everyone -
Southampton 1-0 Leeds - Saints are Promoted!!

Crammed on the Basingstoke train.. Got on at fleet and great to see so many North Hampshire saints heading in! Even a few Leeds squeezed in... Going to be mad on Waterloo! -
I'm in fleet and M3 traffic is crap again with the Fxxx up that is smart motorways. One word of caution about Richmond is that there are possibly no trains or tubes on that stretch over the BH weekend..I was going to do that as easy to get to and avoids Waterloo and the trains up from Southampton being rammed! I work in Slough so am thinking of going via Elizabeth line now..... Or getting a lift to Uxbridge and in from there...

Worth trying again on line..did the same to me first thing but after lunch my lads ticket appeared in my basket as expected.... -
Might have to dig that one out! My son has stolen it off me and worn it a few times this season ππ€

Which makes sense as it is a corner with manageable access for away coaches through the industrial estate.. Watch all the head core move to the chapel π

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
Ex Ringwood Saint replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Just renewed back in FC as my lad is 17 this year and the cost is so much cheaper.. Would love to migrate but with him likely to be missing a few midweek games and sone Saturdays with his other commitments makes no sense.. Be great if there was a late teen reduction in the more vocal areas as we are both happy to stand and shout but the cost is prohibitive at moment... -
Born in Hythe lived in Holbury then Ringwood till ending up in Slough before time in Nottingham and then back South to Fleet.. Season ticket holder with my lad.. Hate the M3 haha... Few of us up this way still.. Though North Hants seems to be more Chelsea than anything! ..

Thanks.. Although like many after yesterday I am questioning the sanity of continuing the joy of it all!

Cheers both.. Was looking at block 5 certainly.. Cost a little more amenable! Those block four gold seats jump a bit....π We are in block 25 at the moment and I like the site lines.. all the old faces we used to know have disappeared over the last years so time for a change.. Still hanging in there though and the lad hasn' been put off!
