Ralph would turn a 20 goal a season striker into one who’d struggle to get into double figures with the way we play. We could have the Harry Kane when he was on top of his game in our current team and he’d struggle as there’s no inventiveness in our play. It’s slow and predictable. Check back, pass back and across, eventually lose possession.

If he stays, I can see exactly the same next spring. We’ll have moved on a few, got in a few. Ralph will proclaim he’s got his team and then when they stop trying next March it’ll be the players fault not Ralph’s. Groundhog day mark III

Che Adams was woeful. He kept losing the ball, it was from his loss of possession they scored their first. He should have been hooked 10 minutes before he was.

I’d be fearful he’d just buy more right backs to play in the team

Gunnersbury tube is about 10 minute walk away. There’s a fair sized pub opposite that. There isn’t much near the ground, one pub by the bridge and that’s it. Other side of the bridge there’s several. Alternatively, try Richmond or Ealing.

It is so that when we’re 4 down after 20 minutes again this Saturday and all leave, we can have something to watch immediately when we get back to the pub

They’re hardly odd bad games… or odd bad runs….

I bought a ST for the 20/21 season that was largely held behind closed doors. Last season I renewed at the same price I had paid for 20/21 (no loyalty renewal price) I’ve just looked again and there’s no loyalty renewal price applied to my ST once again. Have Saints done away with the loyalty renewal price?

Just thinking about it, Chelsea have away season tickets if I remember correctly from a Chelsea supporting mate who had one years ago and went everywhere. If they’ve still got that system then just like their home games the tickets will have to be honoured.

Is it confirmed they’ll have no fans allowed to travel? The home club gets all the revenue anyway I thought so Chelsea aren’t selling/profiting from the sale of tickets. Away fans at Stamford Bridge is another matter though….

If we lose this it’ll very much have the feeling of players already on the beach for this season.

The upturn in form has also coincided with our change of goalkeeper.

I actually feel sorry for the lad, perhaps Ralph will reflect on what happened with the team’s performance as a whole in the first half and manage Smalls next chance differently. Hindsight is a marvellous thing. I remember Wayne Bridge taking time to settle but being given a run of games at the end of the season when we were safe so the pressure was off. Small might just need that to help settle him.

Went in there before the West Ham game and after the Leeds game. It was empty. it used to be very busy 10 odd years ago.

Regardless of any development of the stadium, it really needs a deep clean. The roof supports are filthy and inside it could do with a clean and lick of paint. I think It would look good externally to see the roof strut supports painted red and white alternately.

Given our fractious relationship with VAR last season, I’m delighted we seem to have got the rub of the green yesterday. Those occasions don’t happen too often for us so take the wins where you can.
