That as it may be and if that is true then ok, but equally, there aren't many people talking about Prowse in the same sentence as Christiano Ronaldo either.
-
Ronaldo. I'm not talking AMOUNT. I'm talking technique and sheer outrageousness of the type of goals scored. Ronaldo, to me, is the best in the world, there is nobody outside of Roberto Carlos in his hey day who can hit a ball like Ronaldo. Ronaldo has hit some absolutely out of this world goals for Juventus and also Madrid aswell. If he'd said in the Premier League I'd say there's is certainly a case to be made for that, but when "in the world" gets mentioned that's a whole other debate and you're then bringing other players into it. You cannot put Ward-Prowse in the same universe as Ronaldo. On anything. Nothing.
-
Not for me. I'd like to see prowse smash one in the way Ronaldo does.
-
Are you his dad or something? That's over the top. Best free kick taker in the world? Best match fitness in the world? You calling him better than fucking Christiano Ronaldo on both of those fronts are you?
-
Prowse is a good player. Rumoured to be almost moving for £15m that was what? 2 3 years ago? My valuation of £25m + add-ons is an almost doubling of value, what rate do you expect a player like Prowse to accumulate at? He's a good player but he's not £50m quid good. Some of you on this thread wouldn't have a clue what £50m quid looks like, let alone spend it. This is real money. £50m quid is a lot of money.
-
He's got 4 years left on his current deal. I think for him, his level, he's about £20m - £30m. Factor in the English and a capped international I reckon we'd get £25M + add-ons. I don't think anyone will pay more than that, especially the top 6 because they'd be looking at him as a squad player, not a dead starter week in week out.
-
Yeah. Probably agree with all that and at £8m he's worth the punt. I don't think he's good enough for Liverpool and will struggle to get in that team. He's certainly not a starter there so it could work out for both sides.
-
I don't think Taki happens. As the other poster says, we were initially keen on one of there full backs and according to Klopp Taki was literally a last minute thing. And being honest, he doesn't add anything to us and I think Walcott is a better player. Neither is a replacement for Ings anyway.
-
He's been at the club since 8 years of age. He's now 26 and has just 5 England caps. He's not going to win anything with us and footballer success isn't the same as fan success, they aren't fans, they're football players. If I was in his shoes, I'd leave aswell. We're Southampton. That's all we're ever going to be is Southampton.
-
Yeah I don't think he makes the final cut for the tournament unless there's injuries. Unfortunately.
-
Be interesting to see if Prowse plays any more games. There isn't any other set piece taker in this England squad at all. He played very well, a lot of the play was going through him and denied a double by a world class save from their keeper.
-
It is. Can't stand the bloke.
-
This is more the game in general, but not sure why Coady has the Armband and not Trippier who is the most senior player currently on the pitch...
-
Who Prowse? No way. The best English CM's in the league are Foden & Mount imo. By miles.
-
Not sure what to read into that. The way I look at it, is the ones Southgate took off are being rested as they're dead starters for at least the next game. Bit like Ings, he played the full 90 in the first England game then didn't play again for the remaining 2. I'd have seen it as a better sign if Prowse had come off, if that makes sense.

This is one of the things (of a growing list) that makes me seriously unsure of Ralph. He's a very "1 strike and you're out" kind of guy. See: Callum Slattery. Obefemi would have been out the door aswell had his injury not been his one saving grace. Also Sam McQueen is a weird one aswell. I thought he'd left. Wikipedia still has him as Saints player. If Ralph doesn't want Jankewitz he should tell him. He didn't even get on the pitch V Bournemouth.
-
Probably. He's on corners, he's already taken 2.
-
I had a feeling he was going to score tonight. My complete thought was he's going to score and get injured ffs
-
I might have to retract my endorsement of any takeover involving Simon Jordan, he's just been on TalkSport saying how much of a good manager Mick McCarthy is. If that his calibre of manager and his cup of tea, then I'd worry about the type of manager he'd appoint.
-
It was Semmens at the fans forum alongside Ralph. I was there. Not sure if it was left in the public airing but a fan pressed him on the suspicious sponsorship and Adam Blackmore diverted to Evertons recent performances, that particular forum was when we'd just signed Danny Ings, I was present at both. Also, again not sure if left in, but Les Reed was heckled badly with Krueger doing everything to avoid the questions being asked.

Good grief. Portsmouth are in League one and have just lost a cup final to League 2 Salford. They've got all the prospects of a fucking Turkey that's just caught Bernard Matthews grinning at him.
-
They don't need to remove it, the thing that pisses me off about it is they no longer put the flag up when the offence happens. They're waiting until the end of play and I cannot get my head around why.
-
+1 for Ward-Prowse definitely.

Football index came to me as I was typing it, I should have used that as an example instead because it's the best argument I can think of that supports the point.
