Really? So they changed that rule purely to accommodate VAR? I didn't realise that was the basis for it. It's a ridiculous rule. Just flag when the offence occurs like in this match.
-
Notice the linos are putting the flag up immediately for offside.

If Prowse isn't genuinely fitness impeded and he's returned to us because Ralph has leant on him, then he is a fucking idiot and probably just spaffed his chances of going to the euros. I know some of you will be saying "but...but.... That means he's nice and fresh for Burnley"...etc But I genuinely would have liked to have seen him go to the tournament.

Can't be a consortium. Don't want that. Needs to be one person with one single vision. Anyway it won't be. Consortium coalition buyouts very rarely happen at Premier League level, last time it happened I think Wolves? Consortium buyouts usually happen at League one, League two level and distressed clubs administration. That being said, if a consortium gets involved I'd rather stick with Gao/da Grosa. However, the da Grosa deal has a very consortium feel to it. I don't like him.

LD Sports was seriously off. Something wasn't right there. I don't buy the whole "we're taking them to court" bollocks either, that just seems like something put out to make it sound legit.
-
That is one hell of a fucking reach.... Jim Radcliffe? Does the bloke invest in Nice? As in none of this 1 in 1 out bollocks we've had for the past almost decade....
-
Good post that. On the Da Grosa point, imo, the bloke definitely had the money problem was Gao (or whoever's money bought the club because I'm not convinced it is Gao's money) raised the price when we were flying. He tried to take Da Grosa for a fucking idiot and lost. Da Grosa isn't an idiot, he's an astute businessman not some political puppet who's only (allegedly) still breathing because he grassed somebody else up. All that being said, Da Grosa's intentions aren't much different to Kat Liebherrs, he strikes me as a Randy Lerner at villa type and I think he's bad news.

Dan Sheldon sounds like he doesn't know anymore than anyone else does. Any mug on here could have guessed pretty much all of that.

If Mick McCarthy is Jordans type of manager, then Mark Hughes would be aswell. I think Jordan would be a bit too much of a control freak, he likes yes men managers. If Jordan took over Ralph would probably walk within a month or sacked and replaced with a Hughes type. No thanks.

I don't think this will drag either, it's not an administration takeover, it should be straightforward. If it drags, it'll be because of Gao, somehow I don't think this is going to be entirely up to Gao, I'm still not convinced it was entirely his money that bought the club in the first place. We'll never know the truth.

I'm not getting upset wahaha. Ramirez was a player who could make something happen out of nothing, you don't need to be particularly fast, work hard or be able to press to do that. I don't think it was a case of managers not being able to get him to come good, remember who our squad was made up of at that time... We had players in that team who have gone on to win the league, champions leagues, all the domestic cups including a world championship winner. He wasn't getting a consistent run in the team and he wouldn't have done, we had one of the best sides in the Premier League hence we got ransacked by the top 6. Ramirez in that team was bang average. Ramirez in Saints 2021 team, would be one of our better players. In my opinion, it's not because he wasn't good enough, he was just part of a team of exceptionally good player's.

Good. That bloke sounded like bad news anyway. Everything he was saying just sounded wrong, he sounded like a typical yank smash & flip merchant who sensed a quick quid. ... Like Gao really.

There's nothing to work out mate. It's my personal unqualified opinion on a player who played for us 5 something years ago on a football forum. If you thought he wasn't much use that's ok too and there's nothing for me to work out there either. Fwiw I thought Vestergaard was going to be useless, I was wrong about that aswell. It's ok to be wrong, you don't have to be right all the time. Imo, the squad we had at that time under Poch and Koeman was arguably the best we've ever had in the Premier League, people like Redmond would've got sent out on loan then aswell.
-
Well, Poch was only here for a year for a start....
-
Because I think Ralph would have done the same thing he's done with Prowse, turned him into a completely different player. And with Gaston's talent he'd have been brilliant. For all Ralph's faults, he knows what to do with players. Vestergaard, Prowse, Walker-Peters, Adams. But on the flipside he can be a wanker too: jankewitz. If Ramirez responded he'd be great under Ralph. But anyway, it's a moot point, he left donkeys ago.

Yup. It's also the sheer difficulty and the way the buying tickets process is set up these days, certainly for the last decade at least. The only touts you get now are the chancers selling to mugs who haven't quite caught on to the fact that the tickets are definitely going to be fake and won't get past any turnstile championship level and above. Trying to get tickets as a paid up ST holder is a mission in itself and trying to get tickets for other people means I've got to create accounts on the saints website for each of them THEN add those accounts to my own account and that's assuming the members I added meet purchase history criteria. It's nigh on fucking impossible now.
-
15 years ago maybe. I don't think that's even possible now, certainly not in any sort of volume that would make it worthwhile.
-
Thing is, that could be neurological. And if it is, that's way beyond the scope of a football injury and would be a serious concern.
-
That doesn't sound good. That isn't a run of the mill normal football kind of thing tbf. Doncaster have done the right thing with this, this is obviously beyond what they'd be comfortable assuming responsibility for.
-
I'd take him now. He got a battering from our fanbase but I thought he was a good player and would probably work well in a Ralph system.
-
We should have dropped McCarthy way before we did, I know Forster isn't a fan favourite, but to me we've looked a LOT better with him in goal.
-
Bit of a debate going on about the latest England U21 defeat and the selection by Boothroyd, was going to say how bad Ramsdales goalkeeping is in the league then I realised he's actually got a better record than we have by 1 goal and his team have been rank bottom the entire season. 😅
-
Well..ahem... Considering that France team featured Martial, Pogba, Mbappe and co, I'd say that's something like Eastleigh FC v Man City at Stoneham... But I take your point, it is a win.
-
That's a grim result.
