  1. got mine this morning
  2. I like him a lot , after a frustrating start with us, he seems to be developing well under Ralph, and gives us a lot going forward.
  3. I was always half expecting Betrand to go in previous seasons - as he was as good in his role as many of the others that left for 'bigger things' . Would hope the club and he could reach an agreement to keep him here beyond the end of his current contract. His experience at the back, and his partnership with Redmond on the left are both key assets to this team.
  4. Echo previous comments . Will miss the pod, but can see that the time commitment isn't sustainable for ever. So thank you and Good luck for the future.
  5. Yes agree, he was in a fight to maintain his reputation and he no choice but to go back to what had worked for him in the past. Had we of lost say 2 - 0 , i suspect he wouldn't have made so many changes. Hopefully he sticks to the blueprint from now on !
  6. I was in shock on Friday at the match- and wanted to watch in the cold light of day. Assume the 'highlights' were deemed to be so bad that they wont be shared.
  7. Remember it well - I was at Northlands Road watching the Cricket ......most of the crowd were listening to saints on their radios ......and a massive cheer went up when goals were scored , and full time .....Cricketers looked puzzled !
  8. It seems nothing has changed ( not a criticism) - we will look for younger players ( internally and externally) who we think we can improve, if they get very good , we accept that they will move onto something bigger. As with Mane , VVD , LLallana, Shaw , Schneiderlin etc etc . Success or otherwise will depend on how good we are at spotting these 'unpolished diamonds' and then once here , how well we develop them ( which I think Ralph will do well).
  9. Most consistent Saints CB ( when picked) this season, and he is only 22 - so potentially can get a lot better.
  10. For me watching Tadic last night was just another reminder of how we used to sign quality players , but don't anymore . The difference between what Tadic served up yesterday and what Elyounoussi has produced this season is the sorry story of the last few years !
  11. Agree. If we had beaten Cardiff at home ,then the table looks very different and safety very likely. That was the game they really needed to perform.
  12. one of the most talented in the squad , keep - he should be ideally suited to Ralph's style of play

    Cortese

he was coming back to football ????
  14. Strange timing - but dont disagree that he had to go. Would have made more sense after Fulham result , having kept him in place was he supposed to beat Man UTD ?
  15. You are a strange one arent you ......this will be my last response to you - I dont care what you want changed - and havent asked you for that - my point has consistently been - I would like Ralph to be provide more clarity when he speaks - he tends to not answer the questions being asked ( like you) and waffle. That is all .
  16. I dont understand your point , my point isnt about what I want him to change , its about what he is going to change. He is Chairman of the club, responsible for what happens next. I would like him to be clear on what he is going to change. Do you think he has been clear ? If you think he has , please explain what he believes were the mistakes made, and what they will do to fix them.
  17. Ralph is always unclear in his answers and arguments. I would have thought when you have made mistakes like the club has , the best thing to do is clearly admit to those mistakes, and then have a clear and simple message describing how they will fix them going forward. He doesn't do that. As for Les, not fronting up makes him look cowardly and weak. Not the best start at all from both of them if they want us to have faith in them going forward.

    Hughsey

Im not sure about Hughes yet, what i do think is clear from the way we are playing , and from all that the interviews , is that Pellegrino was clearly incompetent. It might be all that Hughes has done is what any competent manager should have been doing all season. Keeping MP on for as long as we did is one of the worst decisions by any club in the premiership!
  19. We were much better going forward that year, crouch and Phillips were both much more clinical in front of goal than the current lot
  20. doesnt look like he will be sacked this season , but surely even if we survive he will need to be let go in the summer , so not sure that buys Les any bragging rights about sticking with their man. Surely Saints wouldnt let him have another season !
  21. the 2002/03 beattie is just what we need right now ............
  22. That wasnt my point , my point was a couple of seasons ago we had a much better first team , hence we were higher up the table . I didn't say that others outside the top 6 have a better squad than us , but that we dont have the same advantage we had , add a poor manager into that mix - and you quickly struggle . I'm not arguing that a better manager couldnt get more out of these resources, I think we should be doing better, but lets not pretend that we have anywhere near as good a team as we had a few years ago - our decline is not only due to a poor first team coach.
  23. agree with all this , Manager isnt very good , but he hasnt been dealt the best hand, we have largely replaced proven quality with unproven potential and it has lead to a decline in quality across the whole squad , Stephens and Hoedt are simply not as goos as Fonte ( of a few years ago) / VVD or Toby, whilst the other teams around us have also improved. So we go to Burnley , where they are probably the favoutrites , and looking at us as 3 points they should pick up .
