Some great reminiscing and footage of Dave Watson before the England v Republic of Ireland game today on ITV before the match. What a defender for Saint's. Dave sadly suffering, like many ex professional players now from dementia probably not helped by heading the old leather balls. His wife fighting for help for him. He's at Wembley today, I think there's a presentation to him before today's game. Kevin Keegan used to say that big Dave would put his head where others wouldn't even put there feet.

Yes, Ipswich looked decent so agreed, a point gained last week. Going back to the previous week against Man U though , after seeing them against Spurs today they looked that bad that was definitely 3 points lost when we played them.

I took a mate on Saturday who hasn't been that often and he remarked about good atmosphere. We were sat high up in Kingsland / Northam corner and apart from the 96th minute 😟 it certainly seemed half decent.

Pitch looks decent again now after a few problems last month. Just the team now that needs sorting. Maybe the groundsman has all the answers.

Going back to the old Dell days of course we had many memorable games against them and it could be said that indirectly we were responsible for Alec Ferguson taking over as manager after we beat Ron Atkinson's Utd in a League cup game in 1986 with Le Tiss coming off the bench and scoring twice in the last 20 minutes. ( I'd forgotten about this game until an article in the Echo today). Following day Ron Atkinson was sacked , Fergie took over and the rest as they say is history !!!!

Forgive me but I've often wondered, if someone ITK at the club, as insinuated many times, was genuinely leaking information that was being kept under wraps about potential signings to your good selves on a regular basis before anyone else gets to hear, wouldn't the club be rather annoyed and hunting where the leaks come from so as to shut that particular door rather than let the information be leaked so often over such a long period of time .🤔 Just wondering in a quiet moment of contemplation as you do 😏!!

I'd forgotten how the national newspapers report on Saint's games in the Premiership. It's all about the opposition, either how poor they are ( as on Saturday with Newcastle) or how devastatingly brilliant they are !! Have just read the match report in the Daily Mail ( I know I should get a decent paper 🙄!!) nearly a whole page write up and not one mention of Saints, not even our sending off !!!

Kevin Keegan, it was pure theatre the way Laurie and the club stage managed and announced it at the Potters Heron pub. Just imagine it now, us signing the two time winner of the European player of the year and no one getting so much as a sniff of it happening, ( well apart from our very own Circle of Trust of course !! 🙄).

I think you've summed it up. Our players week in week out are often described as world class whilst playing for their clubs in arguably the best league in the world but put them in an England shirt and it doesn't quite happen
