I think my Dad trod on someone's toes and only said sorry twice. Den takers. No messing with us.

The fact a point on Saturday would mean we have as many as our 38 game total last season helps me to enjoy it more, than last season. Or the few seasons before that. We've won more games already. Happy memories of earlier prem campaigns. I like no VAR even if we end up having a goal or two wrongly awarded to the opposition. Human error is part of football.

Ricky's two late pens still such a happy memory on my last visit there. And growing up in SE London my Dad took me a few times in the 80s but we always stood with Millwall fans. Not sure why! We got good at keeping very quiet if we scored. I recall a Le Tiss pen to get a point while all around us were very unhappy. Saints to win!

Interested if first option falls through. Cheers.

I accept that relegated clubs won't often be confident, due to obviously being poor. But there was decent amount of optimism, the first home game had a great atmosphere and players seemed up for it, albeit the goals conceded were indicative of things to come. There wasn't much talk of the negative knock on effects of relegation then. However. The current lack of confidence, in my mind, has little to do with last season. Worryingly for us there is now enough of a sample size for the players to lack confidence solely based on what's happening right now and what they perceive the future to be.

Feels like much riding on this one. There was a feelgood factor a while back, seems like an age ago at the moment.

For me that was the best atmosphere for seasons, not just the exciting game, but I sense must of us want to believe it will be different this season and want to play our part in that. The buzz outside the ground, lots of smiles and anticipation, and keeping the support up when they scored. A good football day. At last.

Cheers. I hope there'll be options in the future.

Is there an option to get any of the kits without the gambling sponsor? My child is now in adult sizes and I want to avoid if possible. I thought it was mentioned on here a while back. Thanks.

Any idea of ticket sale dates for the Norwich game? Pretty vague on the club site.

Reading Squires has been the one good football thing this season.

Off relegation topic, kind of, but the home win banker Manchester City game....will it now revert back to the Saturday if the BBC site is correct and their CL game is on the Tuesday afterwards?
-
Do we know if that is the only date it could be moved to? So either it'll be the Sunday as now scheduled, or back to the Saturday? My son's football team have a coach load due to go to it. I'm assuming MC will progress but maybe then it depends on whether they are given the Tuesday CL fixture date not the Wednesday. What a mess these latest changes are.

I can see why - especially in the light of government sitting on the fence and giving no guidance and the brand worried about being seen as disrespectful. I however agree that games should have gone on and would have been a lovely chance to come together for those that felt that need. There likely would have been enough (and some in high places) making noise about disrespect, and could have turned sour the decision to play. Grassroots following suit now. Surely children could still play, are they supposed to sit at home and reflect?

Eastbourne for me the past 10+years after living in Charlton all my life. Manage a few games each season. Not a terrible train journey despite the 25+ stops between Brighton and Southampton sometimes!

Thanks for confirming. Well he kept our strike force at bay that day so he must be brilliant.
-
Was he in goal for Chelsea in our semi-final against them a few years ago?
-
This is reminiscent of watching us fail to do anything against even fewer players. And then they score!

My first game since Palace December 2019 and the 3 generations in our group really enjoyed it. Also very poignant as the first game in attendance since my Dad passed and he is the reason we now have all those generations of Saints fans. Like some on here I too felt it was a very entertaining match and it is interesting comparing comments on here to how I felt watching it at those same moments. The last 15 minutes of the first half (despite the missed chances) felt like the end of a match as we swept forward, that was when there's no substitute for being there and getting caught up in the atmosphere even when we couldn't hit the backsides of several cows with our banjos. It's true we really had to earn our goals whereas Burnley didn't. But I have seen us huff and puff a lot more without an end product than was the case on Saturday. We have goals in us but haven't found the right combination yet - we were more dynamic than I thought we'd be. I know Redmond was up there, but for Broja to take on their centre backs was great to see from one so young. Livramento looks more than the part. We did ok but I agree (and said at the game) that a change after 2-1 was much too slow in coming especially with great options off the bench. I reckon Tella would have caused them some problems. I loved Diallo's immediate pass from their error for Broja's goal too. Great to be back!

Thanks a lot. I'll have it ready.

First game in almost 2 years, naturally I waited to choose a guaranteed goal-fest. Do I need to have a Covid-pass to get in? Cheers.

I enjoyed the football but for other reasons am especially proud of the team. This group of players and the manager are so good in terms of their individual outlook and efforts (Rashford the most striking example, also when they've sadly had to stand up for themselves against the right wing press, and Southgate speaks very well). And they seem to have a group understanding of what's important in life beyond football, such as a striking anti-racist, anti-discriminatory belief and taking actions about these issues. It's not their responsibility to do so but it would be great if they collectively called out the hypocrisy of the government (Mings already has, which is brilliant) and in doing so possibly advanced the debate that is desperately needed about racism in this country. And a Tory MP telling Rashford to stick to football after he helped feed 1000s unlike them. And the home secretary openly encouraging racists because it suits her politically. This shows why it's needed. I've always been much more passionate about Saints and club football than England (and I don't think that will change), but we can be proud of this lot.

Thanks. I thought it might have been taken off for some reason after it aired. I'll keep checking.

I saw the first programme and it was full of such incredible strength from those that suffered. I hope they are now receiving all the support they need. Tragically their pain can never completely go away. I've worked with survivors and seen just how broken it can leave someone. I hope some help is of use to them. I didn't see the second episode when it was on and it isn't available on i player (the other two episodes are) and I wondered why. Anyone any idea?
