  1. This was so me. Listening to the game on the radio stuffed under my pillow because I was supposed to be asleep in bed and trying not to jump up and run round the bedroom when we scored so I would not tip off my mum and dad that I was listening to Saints on the radio when I should have been sleeping.
  2. Was Golac's goal against West Brom his first for the club? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  5. Let me start by saying that I thought BFS was a terrible choice for England Manager and think he is an arrogant tw&t. However, non of what I have read in these reports or seen in the videos proves any guilt of corruption in my view. If he did however except these speaking engagements he is opening himself up to a massive conflict of interest. It is fairly obvious that these speaking engagements would cover how these investors would get around third party ownership rules set up and administered by his employers. Also having provided insight into how to get around the rules he is in a very tricky position if current or future England internationals then have their economic rights controlled by these investors when their value will almost certainly be impacted by the number of caps they get or are likely to get. Others have mentioned his insistence that he would need to get approval from the FA to take these engagements on and yet despite these conversations happening weeks ago he doesn't seem to have approached his employer for clarification or direction. That in itself speaks volumes to me. At very best his complete lack of sound judgement in even discussing has made his position untenable. In addition depending on what is in his contract, just having these types of conversations may put him in breach Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I live in Tokyo. This is my second stint here and I live in the Setagaya area. Haven't found too many Saints fans around to be honest. Happy to meet up for the odd beer and talk Saints though
  7. Anybody meeting to watch the Swansea game in Hong Kong tonight
  8. I am also now finding it unusable
  9. Anybody know where they may be showing the Palace game tonight? Preferably in Lamai Beach area
  10. Anybody in Hong Kong want to meet up for the game tomorrow?
  11. Thought that Kenya could not now qualify for the African Cup of Nations but agree with your post. It is a squad game these days
  12. Anybody meeting up to watch the game in Hong Kong on Sunday
  13. In-laws live in King's Sutton so tried both the Hooky and Old Hooky when I was back a few weeks ago thought both were pretty good. Found a couple of good beer shops in Singapore recently. Quite like Badger's Poacher's Choice.
  14. If we are talking about squads, I would probably have Killer ahead of Fonte and Claus ahead of Jos
  15. Luang Prabang, Laos
  16. Since leaving Southampton in 1995, I have lived in Edinburgh, Ottawa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and now back in Singapore.
  17. Also agree about money changers, all the licensed guys are trustworthy and on pretty much every street corner, so exchange rates tend to be fairly competitive. ATMS are also everywhere and all of them will accept UK issued ATM cards.
  18. Would agree with everything St Davey said. Especially the bit about getting a taxi in from the Airport. What isn't necessarily obvious is that the airport train terminates usually at Tanah Merah meaning you have to change there then again at City Hall and then it is quite a hike up to Goodwood Park Hotel especially with kids and bags in tow. Also agree with the comments re-Newton Circus although it is easy walking distance from the Goodwood Park. I would probably look at going to China Town and Little India for street food. Smith Street in China Town (I know it doesn't sound very Chinese ) has some great Chinese food stalls in the evening and this time of year will be pretty happening as we build up to Chinese New Year. Haven't seen anyone mention Arab Street and surrounding area which is also pretty good for a wander around and close to Little India.
  19. I am not in KL at the moment, lots of bars on Jalan P Ramlee will be showing it.
  20. This exactly. Very flattering but it is seven games. Can think of several examples of teams that look good after a few games and than it all goes wrong. For me still be happy with anything above 10th.
  21. The guys that do the sports stats page have us as statistically most likely to win the league at the moment. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Premier.html

  23. So when we say arrogant are we talking on a Mourinho level? Or a Ferguson, Wenger level? Maybe a Harry or Holloway level. Saw nothing in this that has me worried. I do believe he could do himself a favour and speak English a bit more often after all in the one or two interviews he has done his English is no worse than Ranierri (spelling) who did all his interviews in English. Have no problem with what he is saying especially as 95% of the question asked are designed to get some sort of reaction
  24. Not sure when the Barbican closed. Used to come to Bangkok every week a few years ago and The Barbican was always one of the places we used to hang out. Last few years have not been coming to Bangkok quite so much up until about six months ago when I started visiting regularly again, anyway thought I would wander down their one night and it was closed and gutted out.
