He could definitely do a job at Leicester but I don't see him joining a club in a relegation battle. Might just as well stay where he is ..
-
Lots of good young managers have come through the Championship !! It's all about picking the right one ...
-
You have a window coming up !!! Three good acquisitions could turn it around !!!
-
I don't think it is pointless.. Leicester were rock bottom in 2014/ 15 for four-and-a-half months between late November and mid-April, but finished 14th in the Premier League, securing another top flight season. The club managed to put together a run of seven wins from their last nine fixtures to survive comfortably. It's not over until it's over. !! Who knows what a good manager could achieve ...
-
He knows how to put a team together & play to its strengths. He likes an offensive style but is flexible depending on the players available.
-
I thought Potter would have been a perfect fit for England but it was not to be !! Potter is a very good manager & I think he could save your season but it seems that he wants a higher profile position.
-
I get the feeling that Potter is not too interested in a relegation battle. He is set for life with the Chelsea money & seems to get lots of TV work to keep him current. Leicester were interested in him at one point but apparently "negotiations broke down"
-
I realize that managers have a plan on how they would like to play but most realize that initially survival is the goal before style. Get the first year in & get some Premier league money & start building a team to fit the desired style. To take a Championship team to the Premier & think that you can match up with the big boys immediately is just insanity. It seems like a waste to achieve promotion & just piss it away because of your principals.

Cooper was a terrible choice for Leicester & would be a terrible choice for Southampton. He doesn't have the tactical nous to change or influence games !!
-
We took a lot of criticism for acting so quickly but it definitely was the right decision. Cooper wasn't working for us & a change was needed. You guys could still turn your season around but it will need a managerial change in the very near future.
-
I've watched quite a few actually but I get your point. Cooper would not be much of an upgrade on Martin even though if I had to choose I would take Cooper over Martin
-
As a Leicester City supporter I would strongly recommend against Steve Cooper !!! He was one of the poorest managers I have ever watched.
-
Why would any freshly promoted team agree to that kind of contract, it's just ridiculous !!!
-
I went back and watched the interview again .... It's disgraceful !!! How do you face the players after spewing that shit.
-
100% correct !! The player does not have to leave the pitch if the injury he's receiving treatment for was caused by a bookable offence.
-
We have Leicester fans who want us to lose so that Cooper will be fired !!!
-
I find that statement offensive.. Are you trying to start an argument ?? 🤣
-
I get the feeling that that after Chelsea Potter has his sights set on the top half & isn't interested in a relegation battle. Playing in Stoke on a cold January night may not be his cup of tea.
-
The funny thing is that Leicester fans think that Cooper has to go if Southampton win.
-
Potter is looking for a high profile gig to keep him in the limelight. He wont want to tarnish his reputation by getting relegated. He turned down Leicester in the Summer but that was when a points deduction looked likely
-
I'm guessing you were being facetious when you said Puel. But for me Claude is a very solid Manager/Coach who knows how to tighten up a defence .. His player assessment is second to none & I always felt he would make a great DOF. Defence is how you beat relegation ... Not possession football I actually thought that Southampton pulled the trigger on him way too soon
-
Vestergaard hasn't started for Leicester so far this season due to a "minor knock" but I doubt he would make the team anyway with Wout Faes & Caleb Okoli being the chosen CB's for Steve Cooper this season.
-
I just get the feeling that Potter is holding out for something bigger. I can't see him joining a relegation contender.
-
I should qualify my comment by saying that I am 72 but I really don't understand why you would play without a striker when you don't need to. All this talk about overloading the mid-field is bull shit !!
-
He will be in great demand in the near future as relegation candidates start firing managers.
