  1. Agree about the investment. I would love to see Ralph get proper backing in the transfer market. Three or four quality players that he has identified would make so much difference to our squad. I think for me, until he is backed properly, it's difficult to judge him.
  2. Would take Mee and Tarkowski absolutely. Pope also, big upgrade and what we have in terms of keeping at the moment.
  3. Think after the recent run of games, I'd be inclined to stick with McCarthy. As mentioned, not much to choose between them both, however, McCarthy just shades it for me as he seems a bit more agile and gets down quicker.
  4. I remember that pub from my younger days. Like most round that way, think it's a One Stop now.
  5. To be honest, not sure he would even make my top ten of best players. Possibly top ten forwards but not top ten as a whole.
  6. So, is it now possible that Ings has played his last game for us now?
  7. Le Tiss is an absolute legend in my eyes, no question. The greatest player ever to pull on the red and white. I've no interest in what he posts on Twitter, it's a free country and he is entitled to an opinion. Le Tiss gave me some of my happiest moments whilst supporting Saints.
  8. If you judging a season by the number of defeats, we are heading for 20 defeats this season. That number of defeats would, on most season's see you occupy one of the bottom three slots. That's an unacceptable number, especially for a side that doesn't end up going down. The fact that draws are in single figures also highlights that we aren't hard to break down and that we can't even close out a game for a point.
  9. He might not have a choice if these niggles and tweaks keep occurring or get worse.
  10. We are heading for 20 defeats this season. For a team that is going to avoid relegation, that's completely unacceptable. Any other season and 20 defeats would likely see relegation.
  11. I get the reasons for that, but you could have a Puell situation all over again. Sacrifice entertainment for results. Claude was the ultimate pragmatist. Although on the flip side, he won't go down in history as a coach with two 9-0 defeats on his record.
  12. Get what you are saying. I think in any other season he would have to have gone though. If fans were at SMS I think the pressure would have been huge. Not saying it would have got to Puell or Hughes levels, but think it would have gotten pretty uncomfortable for both Ralph and the board. I really do commend the board for the loyalty that they have showed Ralph, and I like him, I really wanted him to be a success, but its not working at the moment, for whatever reason.
  13. I think he would have gone if we could have afforded to sack him. There seems no other logical explanation.
  14. Yeah, think Van A is out of our reach which is a shame. The trouble we have is, that the players we want to shift our so average that we just can't find buyers for them. I hate the idea of further loans for them, but seems we have no choice when it comes to the likes of Hoedt and Lemina. I also find it madness that we have agreed to send Gunn back on another loan to Stoke. I don't rate him that much and, although I know he has been out with an injury, he doesn't seem to have pulled up too many trees there. I appreciate we paid decent money for him, but I would have looked to sell even if it meant taking a hit on the fee.
  15. Always liked Townsend. He seems to have more end product than either Redmond or Djenpo. Van Aanholt would be a decent addition too, although I would suspect that Ralph is going to pull out all the stops to try again for Brandon Williams.
  16. After another shit show of a performance, got me thinking about the squad for next season. I know our hands are tied in respect of transfer funds etc, but who would we like to see still playing for us next season. I'd quite happily sell at least two of the three keepers, none of them inspire much confidence. Probably have to keep Forster due to the wages. I always liked Krull at Norwich, so it's a shame that they have been promoted again. Fullbacks, obviously an area of huge weakness. Would only keep KWP, wouldn't renew Betrand's contract and also look to move on both Vokins and Valery. Not sure if Brandon Williams is the answer, really haven't seen enough of him to judge. Henry from Brentford has been mentioned, and it might be that pickings will be made available there if they don't go up this season. Central defenders, I like Bedernek, you don't play international football for Poland if you are shit. Vestergard, think I would look to move him on. Whilst he can ping the play about, I don't think he does the basics of defending that well. For tall guy, he just doesn't have the physical presence and lack of pace is really concerning. Jury is out on Salisu, he will either be amazing or a total flop. Big season for him next. Stephens, not going to get much better for a forth choice defender. Central midfielders don't think JWP and Romeou have done too much wrong and are definitely first choice there. Again, Diallo could go either way, needs a big season next year. No idea about Janewitz, seems he is off, but we will obviously need to replace him. Armstrong has been arguably player of the season and his form could see some bids being received for him, thinking the likes of West Ham, Leicester and Leeds would see him as a decent addition to their squads. Redmond, although I agree he has been poor this season, there is still a player in there. Having said that, I think he needs a move, so I think he would be one I would like to see move on. Djenpo is another one that hasn't kicked on from his early promise. Looked a real find early doors, but is far too inconsistent and rarely has an end product. Tella seems to have something about him, but needs to toughen up a bit, goes over in the penalty area far too easily for my liking. Think we should say thanks to Walcott for the season, but that's where it ends. For all the romance about him coming home, he hasn't really delivered. Doesn't look like Minamino has a future here either, I think Liverpool have told us he won't be moving, or at least not for the kind of fee we are looking to pay. Seems inevitable that Ings is going, even with his injury record he is still going to be worth a punt for the likes of West Ham. He has proved his worth in a struggling team and it's not only his goals but his all round game that counts for so much. Adams, certainly he is a trier and never gives up. What he lacks in quality he makes up in effort, but as we know that's not enough in the Premier League. He's not a natural finisher but for what we paid, not sure we could have got any better. Ofembi has shown that he has an eye for goal, but he seems to be out of favour with Ralph, think he would be worth keeping for another year. Don't think Ndlandu is going to make it here. Anyone's guess what will happen to the players out on loan. Have to hope that Lemina and Hoedt find another loan as can't see anyone buying them. Mo Ely might find himself given another chance. We need to play the loan market cleverly next season. Two slots there, need to get the best we can within our means. Possibly enquire about Nathan Ake and Tammy Abraham, both probably out of our market though. Free transfers are going to be key as well. Not sure what the situation is with contracts, wouldn't be surprised if we offered Josh King something. So many questions posed for next season.
  17. Can still see him going to West Ham or Leicester. We will probably look at Josh King as a replacement
  18. Exactly. Diallo looked so weak out there.
  19. I know. Just hijacked your post.
  20. We aren't going down this season. Next season I wouldn't be so confident
  21. Nothing will change for next season, giving where we have been told we are going to doo our recruiting.
  22. He has to go. Have been a massive fan of his, but it's enough now.
  23. I can't believe he has managed to stay in the job so long. Relegation form since January
  24. VAR has ruined football
  25. Subs fuckin made no difference. Yet again
