  1. Looks like he'll be one down now.
  2. Would love us to get that kind of fee, but don't see it happening.
  3. I think we are going to have to accept bids of around 20m for Ings. Unfortunately, it's a PEH situation all over again.
  4. Seem to remember reading that Howe was a Everton fan
  5. Maybe Ron will put in a good word for us!
  6. Not sure what Philips brings to be honest. Other than the fact he plays for the media darlings of Leeds. Got to say you should have JWP ahead of him, even if it is for dead ball ability. Crock of shit anyway, playing for England has always been about reputation than form.
  7. This is how I see. it Not fussed either way. Although I wouldn't want us to waste away our two domestic loan signings. Think they will be really important to us. Absolutely hope we do our homework to explore the loan market with the big six sides.
  8. I can't see Norwich doing anything but struggle. They'll be great to watch and win the neutral's support, but they lack even the quality that we have. Watford, I think will have a bit more about them next season and wouldn't be surprised if they manage to stay up. Brentford could go either way. If Toney hits the ground running they could be in for a decent season.
  9. There's no way JWP is going to start a game in the Euro's. Although it appears Southgate has a soft spot for our James, I don't see him starting a game. Henderson is bound to start if fit.
  10. Agree with this. Some clubs need to sell more than we do. We need to adopt a Levy style when it comes to negotiating a deal. We get fucked over enough in transfer fees, it's time we used the same tactic
  11. Benteke normally has his best game of the season against us. Ergo, would he be any good actually playing for us?!
  12. I suspect as others have mentioned, we wanted Bertie to take more of a backup role in the coming new season. We can only surmise and say that he wasn't happy with that, and maybe his people advised him he could be back up at a bigger club and pocket a tidy sign on fee in the process. I fully believe had we signed a left back in the January window, Bertie would have been quietly pushed aside.
  13. If we didn't want to upgrade, why were we so intent on trying to sign Brandon Williams? Pretty sure if we got him on a six month loan he wouldn't have just sat on the bench.
  14. Am sure if we wanted to keep him that much, we would have reached an acceptable compromise with him so that he stayed.
  15. Think this one should be filed under thanks but no thanks. Wouldn't be an upgrade on Bertrand in my opinion. Think we should be looking at players like KWP who haven't seen it all and done it yet. Motivated to better themselves and not just looking for a last pay day.
  16. As I said on another thread, if my nine year old did that in his team, the manager would hook him straight away. Totally unacceptable for a so called Premier League player.
  17. I take issue with that. Vestergaard has been shit on a regular basis since he returned from injury. No pace, weak in the tackle and bizarrely the tallest player we have yet he gets beaten in the air far too easily. Stephens is extremely limited but at least he actually looks like he is interested
  18. I don't think it is. The calibre of player that we need to improve this squad aren't going to come to us. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Diallo and Djenpo haven't improved us as a squad. We need proven players that have experience at the top level, not players who have had a handful of games in the French and Belgian leagues. Sure, we may get lucky with a couple over the years, but we need to be able to attract better.
  19. For a so called professional Premier League player that is appalling. My nine-year old plays in the Eastleigh mini league, if his manager saw him standing there with his hands on his hips like that, he would be hooked straight away.
  20. Sell. If someone offers 20m would take it in a flash.
  21. Sadly, we don't have the pull to make the signings required even if we did have that money to spend. Players aren't going to want to come here anymore, and who could blame them. We lack leadership in every department, from the pitch to the boardroom.
  22. He's a pile of shit. No better than Stephens to be honest
  23. Absolutely. I wish Kat would just come out and admit she just chased the pounds and didn't give a fuck who she sold to
