  1. Hopefully keep it tight for the first 10/15 minutes of the second half. Have to expect Everton to come out full on.
  2. Fair enough. Everyone has differing opinions about a particular player. I don't routinely watch Spurs that much, everytime I have seen him he seems to be a steady performer. Doubt that he would be on our target list anyway.
  3. You'd rather have Bednerak and Salisu in ahead of him? I agree on the wages and fee front, but there is no way he wouldn't be getting a game here. Huge upgrade on both of those, even if Salisu is still a bit of an unknown quantity.
  4. For pure entertainment, got to be Neil Ruddock.
  5. Don't get why everyone is against Dier. He would be a massive upgrade on anything we have at the moment.
  6. I don't think from a PR perspective we can afford to let JWP go this summer. We have already lost one fan favourite in Ings, I don't think the club would risk the backlash if they allowed JWP to go too. Could possibly be a reason he signed such a long contract, sign the deal and in the second year, you can leave.
  7. I don't see a problem with Vestergaard leaving to be honest. Never was a huge fan of him, as others have pointed out he is much better suited to a back three as he proved in the Euro's. He just strikes me as too passive to be a centre half, despite his size he was beaten in the air far too often. Sometimes I wish we would get over this notion that centre backs should be ball playing defenders. Fact is they should be able to defend first and foremost, in whacking it into row z is the best option it needs to be taken. Would rather we sign no frills defenders like we have had in the past, players that would put there head's in where it hurt.
  8. Agreed. Wouldn't be a good move in my opinion
  9. Yes I know that. Hence why I said that it could be a possibility that we are keeping one back for the January window.
  10. Personally, I hope the club are still looking at the loan market for any potential incomings. With two domestic slots available it would be a shame not too use them. However, could also see us keeping one back as a possibility for the January window.
  11. I like the idea of loaning players from the top 4 clubs. The loan market is a source that we have under used in the past, so getting two players on loan from the domestic market can only be a good thing. It only seems bad when the other club involved start to take the piss with loan fees etc.
  12. I liked the look of Joe Roden at Spurs, maybe with them signing the Argentine fella, there's a deal to be done there.
  13. I don't think that's up for debate, what I am hoping is that Armstrong can develop into a very useful goalscorer for us in his own right.
  14. Absolutely. Got more about him than N'lunduno
  15. I'd be looking at 20m for Vestergaard. Had a decent Euro, actually looked a lot better than he did when playing for us.
  16. Just about every area is a pressing need at the moment.
  17. Same here. Moran first and then Clarke. When you look back over the years that I have been supporting Saints, we've had some superb forwards.
  18. The team seriously need to buck there ideas up
  19. Heart says 15th/16th, head says 18th or worse. If Ings had gone a bit sooner we would have been in a stronger position to take our time with his replacement, can't help feeling we are going to rush this and sign up the first forward who shows an interest. I really don't think the club were expecting Ings to go, they knew there was no top four interest, and were prepared to take Ings word that he would leave only for top four. If anyone is expecting anything less than a relegation battle they are seriously deluded.
  20. How do Bilbao look in comparison to anything we will come across in the league?
  21. It seems like Armstrong has been our primary striking target all summer. We went in with, what was probably a take the piss bid, no that we have a bit "extra" to spend, we seem to be backing away from it. It makes you wonder if actually Armstrong himself as shown no indication that he wants to come here. Maybe he sees Palace or Watford as a better option.
  22. I'm not sure Abraham is all that. Sure he is a decent player, but I don't think he is what we need. Villa were credited with an interest in him, and he even spent time on loan with them, I would have thought they would have been more likely to go for him rather than Ings.
  23. Trouble is the players that were in the 10/15m bracket two seasons ago, are now in the 20/25m bracket now. The vast majority of clubs, both home and aboard cannot sell at those prices anymore unless they are absolutely desperate for the cash. Not knocking the club, but we are shopping at the absolute bargain basement of world football. It can be done, but as others have said our recruitment and scouting needs to be the dogs bollocks.
