The only thing I disagree with there is the timescale. I would say we will definitely ruin the planet, but it's gonna take thousands of years rather than hundreds..

Just to highlight how silly our benefits system is: Last summer I had a girl who worked for me, she only did 16 hours a week - something to do with the benefits... She earnt about £90 per week from her work - fair play for getting off her arse and doing something... She probably spent about £150 in the pub - great for my profits!!! She was a single mum with a 3 year old daughter - who might as well have lived with her grandma for all the time she spent with her..... She had a two bedroom house paid for by the council. She had all her bills paid for by the council. She even claimed child care benefits from the council - despite her mother looking after her daughter We got her to write down one day all of the benefits she recieved - how much each was worth etc - and in order for someone to work [and have tax deductions etc], they would need a job paying around £31k per annum just to have the same level of 'income' as this 21 year old girl!! Do I think that's fair, do I f*ck!!!

So just like the fridges were destroying the ozone layer and we were all going to die.... Ooooppppssss the ozone layer seems to be repairing itself...

It is suggested that a large meteor hit the Earth, and the resulting dust cloud sealed out the sunlight for many years, triggering an ice age - we are currently still in it, although it is warming up - eventually we will warm up enough that the Earth resumes it's natural state - that is a state where there is no ice on the polar caps
