  1. So yeah, shop window and maximising revenue was the bit i forgot to include in my post, and youre spot on. Pretty sure we will be doing the same with Fraser too, see if we can shift in the summer. I wouldn’t be surprised if we look for another keeper or try Gunn again next season. He let in 4 yesterday, but importantly he is back in the team after injury. Does anyone know how he has performed?
  2. You for sure have a valid point, and I agree IF it were our intention for him to be playing for us in the future. Now, I dont know for sure, but I can see a situation where ~Ralph doesn’t want him playing for us in the future, cos maybe he doesn’t think he is good enough. We are a club that has said we dont do loads outside the club, as they wont learn how we want them to play. Maybe this is telling, if you look at all our loans out over the last couple of years, how many came back? I cant think of many who have and then are on the periphery of the team. Maybe I’m wrong, so happy to be corrected, maybe we do have others who have come back.
  3. How do you work that out - I mean we have coached him this far and he is at the standard he is. Some players just aren’t good enough, maybe we need to accept our academy isn’t anywhere near good enough at present, and it will likely take us 3-5 years for that to correct itself, which I’m confident it will. Ralph obvs didnt think him good enough, even with our lack of full backs. At least he isn’t taking up space in training to allow someone else (~Finnigan I think) and the small wages he is on will be covered by Sunderland too. See, to me this is a bit similar to my game of Monopoly I played with the family last night. In a desperate attempt to take down my nearest rival, as they had houses across the Strand... I sold them Park Lane, Regents Street and 2 others for £1. All of them were mortgaged, so when they accepted, they had to pay the fees, and they only had £4. The end result was they had to sell their houses to pay the fees. Game opened up, and I’m now sleeping on the couch 🤑
  4. Yeah, you had me til you mentioned the clean sheet part 😉
  5. I think he could be good for us, but doubt it will happen. He isnt really good enough for City, but they appear to have run out of patience with Mendy. I think they will replace for a new LB in the summer, but Zinchenko not good enough for top 6 in the EPL - He isnt good enough going forward, which is what a Top 6 side need, particularly Top 2, and his defensive work is all a bit meh.
  6. Just checking if you're linking these things, what has his contemporaries got to do with how good he actually is? From the current crop, he is the one most likely to go on to something of prominence. I think he had a rash rush of blood v Utd, and you may be right about being on the bench for this game, but I hope he is given more chances.
  7. And this is what happens when you put a chick in goal And fuck me, what a goal Mr Foden 👏
  8. Not sure I’d want to. He is a cock and always will be. Fernandes could have done the right thing. And he is a cock. So to surmise. There are cocks everywhere.
  9. I recall Robbie Fowler getting a penalty V Arsenal, maybe 25 years ago. David Seaman came out and fouled him, but Fowler got up and said no penalty, he didnt touch me. The ref didnt listen and awarded it. Fowler made it pretty easy to save, which was the right thing to do in the name of sportsmanship. Martial should have insisted to that wanker Fernandes to miss it, but the little prick couldnt do that. Im sure people will frown, but id not shed a tear if the cunt breaks his leg in th enext game. Not a career ending one, im not vicious or anything, just a 6 monther.
  10. Hang on - so we are looking for a RB now, and not a LB. Jeez, I’m confused 🤔
  11. Nice to meet you Vectis 😄 Your advice is an oxymoron - you say don’t judge other people by my own behaviours (my comment was pretty tongue in cheek), then judge me without knowing anything about me, by saying I am a fanboy and supporting other clubs is something I would do. Anyhow - let’s get past that. I have been supporting Saints for almost as long as you, so far from a fan boy, but let’s not do that thing by writing a ridiculously long reply, and then end with with an’ all almighty “we were, as I said, very poor” like you are the de facto authority on opinions 🤨 Some parts of your really long post I agree with - like Ings isn’t fully fit yesterday, although his move to get the pen that wasnt given, his ball to Adams where he should have scored, and the goal he scored that was taken away, would still get him in the majority of sides in the league. I’m not papering over the cracks btw - we have an issue scoring goals, which we didnt have an issue with prior to getting all the injuries. I’d rather imagine once they are all back, fit and in the grove, we wont have an issue scoring goals. I respect your opinion is different to mine on this matter, but if you really cant see we weren’t very poor, or abysmal - I’m not sure we have that much left to say to one another on this particular subject, which is mind blowing i know 🤯 I’m not trying to get you to alter your view, i just dont believe we are anything near poor, or abysmal. The bottom 3 clubs right now - I think I’d be with you if you were calling them poor and abysmal, but no, not us. Anyhow - let’s not fall out over it 🤗
  12. I thought Cash cost more then KWP, who by very nature of how he has played for us so far this season, is the very definition of value - outstanding at that. And besides, Cash is a goalkeeper, they are usually cheaper than outfield players 😉
  13. Seriously, how can you say we were rubbish? Sure we've played better, but Ings move to get the handball play was great, as was his ball through to Adam's. And the goal was also good play. We are also fucked with injuries just now, not 1 or 2, but about 8. I heard Liverpool are looking for new supporters, but as they haven't played well lately I guess you may now be applying ...
  14. I haven't been angry over our games since the offside in the cup final v Utd. I've woken up and I'm still fucked off. It isn't just shit officiating, it is cheating. I wonder with how fast they decided Ings was offside, which was quick, they just thought, nah, dont want to allow the goal. And with Mason and Dean, I bet theyre wanking themselves silly on a Teams call still now over their performance.
  15. I still stand by my comment, they are here or there about the top 6, and when outside their points totals have been fairly close. I never said anything about their model being different, it is very similar, but lately they've done it better than us. Which is why with Ings coming up to 29yo I can understand that could be appealing. I also never said they've done everything perfectly, no team does transfer perfectly every time, ever. Just the money talks, and they are, right now, at the point where Ings is making a decision, with Vardy approaching 35, a valid choice for Ings to make. They don't mind paying high transfers and high wages. Far higher than we can. My OP was about it would be terrible to lose a player theo Leocester, which in my view is crazy, they pay far higher transfers and wages, it really isn't hard to understand that, is it?
  16. Maybe we can swap Long for Vinicius then?
  17. Ok, thanks for the relevant reply 😅 We used to hand them out too, the paper ones a few years back. Maybe that’s why he is keen to go there...
  18. They are an established top 6_8 side for the past 6 or so years, great investment, really good team who pay high wages are are usually in Europe each season, plus the won the league pretty recently. They are a step above us right now have been for a few years. This is our model, buy cheap, play for 2-3 years, move on at a profit. It wouldn't be a surprise if it happened, but no disgrace if it did...
  19. Fuck me, can you imagine Shaun Dyche whispering in your ear 🥺
  20. I dont think the release clause is £20m, that is the delta in release fee - so, maybe we want £50m, they want £30m etc.
  21. Saving Ings for the Shrews then...
  22. Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I figured so, and aren’t so worried about that. I didnt see it as a shooting down, just getting to know people, who has grace and intellect, and tell them apart from those that, well dont.
  23. Sure I do, but I'm new to this forum having spent 11 years with Not606, and you get to understand people over time, and how they post. Your post could be taken in a couple of ways, so thanks for pointing that out.
  24. You aren’t being serious are you? I get we need more options, and that Long isn’t perhaps going to be here much after this season, but Austin was a disruptive force on the dressing room, and wasnt great when he was here, and has gone downhill. Is it not saying something he has joined a club fighting relegation in a division below, rather than one chasing promotion? I think we will be looking for additional support, but no way would it be someone like Austin.
  25. Fuck me, what a good looking team that is...🤪
