I dont disagree with this, but getting someone to do a deal we are happy with re Fraser isn’t simple, we’ve tried for a few years and best we did was loan him out, with us covering much of his wage I believe.

Because Gunn was the most sellable and a similar standard. I wouldn’t be surprised if we sold one of Fraser or McCarthy, and bring in a No 1 next season when one or both are out of contract.

We really all dont know it. No one does, and in reality do you believe we are doing the wrong thing now by trying to get rid of players this summer, who we have tried for years to cut adrift, or would you rather we kept them? Once they are gone, if imagine we will be able to finalise a few of the deals we are working on. What is it that would make your happy?

Im not sure he will have egg on his face, if we receive a good enough offer that allows us to buy say Armstrong and Edouard, I imagine we will sell. Soundbytes are always put out there to maximise our position, we cant exactly say we need to flog him asap. I dont have an issues with what is going on this summer, on the contrary, we are shipping loads out we dont need, have likely reduced the wage bill by a few hundred k also, and more signings will follow. Id be amazed if Vesty and Ings were here come the shutting of the window though.

Yep good point. He only had COVID in one of the last two seasons though. Let’s face it though, is isnt super fit, and does miss a lot of playing time.

Sure Matt, if that makes you feel better. But he did play around 40% odd less than he could. That isn’t great, no matter what the position, particularly for our best player and no 1 striker - they dont get taken off unless due to fitness. I’m not saying get rid or anything, just you cant go banding stats around that suit your position, as they weren’t an accurate reflection of how much playing time he played.

So Danny Ings last 2 seasons minutes played all competitions compared to JWP who played pretty much to the max: 20/21 - 2531 19/20 - 2099 JWP 20/21 - 3960 19/20 - 3910 So for me at least, Ings does still miss lots of minutes, around 40 - 50% less than he could play.

I think if Saka is fit he will play as I think he can be more disciplined defensively, which we may need with their LB.

Not sure I agree with this at all. He was a brilliant out ball for Belgium, held it up, laid it off or turned and ran with the ball. Was really good last night in a game where chances were very limited.
