No worries. Yeah I’d be pissed as I was last season with Romeu, and pleased it went for us this time. The timing of when the challenge started ie the jump is irrelevant though, it is about the contact and if the keeper has the ball. Fraser did have it even if it was soft how it came out of his hands.

Only thing I’d add is Ralph started the season doing just this, then weirdly went all stubborn again and reverted to rigid formations and we struggled more. Im imagining he thinks he will play different ways for different teams, but the recent change seems to really suit us.

Correct, that is technically a foul. I don’t like the rule either, but in context it is a foul even if Doherty went for the ball as Fraser had the ball when it got knocked out of his control. Same as Romeu v Villa last season. In fact that was even worse as their keeper actually dropped the ball onto Romeu and it went in. At least I think that was how it happened. For me, under the rules that are followed, it was a foul. So I think this debate is more so about rules being fit for purpose opposed to if it was a foul or not.

Not sure anyone has claimed it was deliberate, just perhaps could have been a tactic. Even if it were I’m sure a few that went out weren’t meant to go out.

If it were true about deliberately kicking into the stands, time wasting is one aspect, as would territorial advantage, similar to rugby - and allows us opportunities to steal the ball higher up the pitch with the opposition slightly out of shape. Could be plausible.

See I think AA did a better defensive job at LB, and don’t believe Shane could have done that, think that is why he kept AA on.

It is also funny how the people who can’t see Ralph has caused some of his own issues also state the lack of depth card, and he can’t do subs as he doesn’t have the players, when today they proved we do have the players, they needed trust from the manager and a tactical/formation tweak to 422fucking2.

I think a little harsh, he is taking a little time to settle, and our forward line hasn’t been stable or great this season, and our No 10s are also a bit shit. I like him, think he will be ok. Although I’m also looking forward to Small getting game time, hopefully in the cup.

Yep agree with this. Thought AA did really well filling in at the LB/helping defence considering not his game at all. Really pleased with the performance overall, I though from the first 5 mins we looked like we had the bit between our gnashers…
