Definitely a rough gem still, but I think Salisu was too and has been polished beautifully by Saints and Ralph. Fingers crossed!
-
I know Lyanco wasn't on that long, but I didn't see him make any mistakes, I did see him make a few tackles and interceptions, AND I saw him make a decent cross from their goal line in the last ten minutes. He might just be a gem.
-
I thought Stu was clearly going for the ball and then trying to pull out of it once he saw the defender. He could easily have been sent off, but I don't think he deserved it.
-
What was the last better Premier League debut goal from a Saint before KWP's today?
-
He did say we were excellent. But he also kind of implied that they were robbed when he said it was their best performance of the season.
-
I'd like to join the Perraud fans today. I thought he was excellent. He won a load of fouls off Stirling and coped well when Jesus came on. And he often provided a counter attacking route on our left. He's at least half decent. I'd like also to speak up for Redders from the first half. He made the run and the assist to set up the goal. And, somehow, he was on our goal line making vital clearances, at least three of them in the last 15 minutes before he came off.
-
How much would you sell him to Newcastle for?
-
Oh, I don't think he's better (yet!), but prices have gone up since VVD left and I can only see Salisu improving from here. His acrobatic interceptions, which he leads the league in (interceptions, not acrobatic ones) show what incredible athleticism and coordination he naturally has. He's also brought in a real discipline to his game, while still taking opportunities to press forward. He's definitely the best defender we've had since VVD.
-
I think Salisu will sell for more than VVD. I hope it doesn't happen too soon.
-
I think Long might be the answer. But I'm probably asking the wrong question..
-
I want him to get sent off and simultaneously injure himself when diving. Then break his hand punching the earth.
-
I was a little surprised at first to see KWP not back in at RWB, but actually I think Tella played well enough last time to have earnt the start.
-
I thought Man Utd were desperate for Pochettino? Who here would swap Ralph for Poch right now?
-
We're ELEVENTH
-
Also good to know Tella can cover that position, even when we're four right backs down.
-
I was really impressed by Tella tonight too, especially in the first half. I'm very pleased he's signed a new contract with us.
-
The thing that impressed me most tonight was JWP's tackling. He seemed to be doing it as precisely as he does his dead balls, even though he was sliding into some of those tackles as last man. I think I'm old enough to remember when tackling was a weak spot of his.
-
How good was FF in that second half?
-
I thought Salisu was excellent tonight. There was a moment in the first half, I think in the 34th minute, where Perraud had gone AWOL and Salisu was covering at left back. Brentford had the ball with two men high on the right. He tackled both of them hard and clean inside three seconds and put the ball in touch. He is seriously good.
-
I thought Lyanco had a much better second half. It wasn't error free, but it did contain some crucial tackles and he got a lot of praise from the commentators.
-
All played a part in defense and attack; all three assisted and Diallo scored. JWP was best though, his tackling in the second half was immense.

I think we need new owners every week

Swans dive.

Red card for a tap on the shoulder?
