No, not really
-
Do what?
-
No. I am in favour of proper defence spending by all the major powers in Europe, so that we do not have to get the begging bowl out to the USA to sort affairs in our own back yard
-
we do have some modern bits of kit and some excellent training. Europe as a whole does have some power. However, what it lacks without the USA is a coherent command and control, an appropriate level of sustainability, and should the USA actually pull support, assets like the F35 are not effective at all.

You are right. Net zero projects could be cut to raise more money for Defence

Will be no more then -
My view is that we are far nearer the end of fighting now, than at any time in the last 3 years - largely due to trump's right or wrongs (or complete removal from the norms). Ukraine cannot (and could never) win, so an end soon is the only outcome.

The millioms of £s spent enhancing gender outcomes in Nepal will take a hit, I should imagine Along with the money we sent to india (for some bizarre reason) -
Exactly Trump knows full well the Western world cannot function as it does unless it is guaranteed by the USA. Now, rightly or wrongly, he is taxing us all for decades of this privilege
-
Yeah, OK. When is the unprecedented 2nd state visit?
-
It was due to results, as he was an arse in the media to be fair
-
Really? Is that why he is literally holding court whilst we all kiss his arse?
-
I bet Zelensky did not imagine it going like that. If this brings about the end of the war, then that is a bonus
-

Despite a very small uplift in defence spending, more cuts to major assets are just around the corner... At least the Government have a justifiable pot of money to pay for the Chagos islands when we do our best to give them away. -

Tried that last time, no one listened. He literally told the Germans to their faces that they were in putins pocket and they don't spend enough on Defence. They were laughing at him. -

Being ridiculous is the one way to force European hands. Much the same was as - who ever it was - destroyed the Nord Stream pipeline. -

Donnys lunacy has been a long time coming. For decades Europe has contracted out defence of the continent to the USA, so other spending can take place in areas that can be just baffling. The situation where a collective group or rich nations is worried about a country with the GDP compared to Italy is embarrassing. That is because all of our armed service are a shambles, and it is about time we all spent a bit more. However make no mistake .2% is no where near enough of an increase, but a good start. -
Ukraine president going to the US mmthis week. Could be the end of the war Imagine that!
