  1. Good. Hope they sign no one. Can't stand West Ham.
  2. He's back for our game.

  4. Cork should have been in the squad yesterday and come on at HT for the awful Wanyama - who I assume just had an off-day yesterday. Ramirez should have stayed on the bench. Jayrod should have started too - in place of Osvaldo. Pochettino could have swapped Rickie for Osvaldo later on - if need be. And I have no idea of Poch's reasoning as to why he took Lallana off? Once again, we had absolutely no width at all. Just like Sunlan, everything was through the middle. Most of all though, the players looked like they were asked to play a new formation of sorts (possibly to accommodate Osvaldo)... but weren't quite sure what their jobs were. Either that - or too many had a complete off-day yesterday & played nowhere near the standard expected.
  5. I take it you're on about the Barnsley game and not today's guff at Carrow Road???
  6. I'm still puzzled as to why Lallana was dragged off??? We went from fairly sh1t to utterly sh1t once he was subbed. Pochettino takes the rap for that strange decision. Please can we have Cork back in the middle too. If he goes to Fulham, I will be utterly deflated & bemused.
  7. We played too much through the middle. No width whatsoever for the front men to capitalise on. We need that pacey winger!
  8. Nice watch...

  10. Took my son up to Stamford Bridge to see Saints when he was almost 3. He's now 25. The cheeky bastids on the turnstile tried to charge me a fortune for him. I said he'd sit on my lap - but they said he'd be taking up a seat and had to pay. Luckily enough, a steward the other side of the fence overheard & said "psst, mate, pass him over to me." I did - and me & my best mate paid for ourselves, went in, and he sat on my lap all game. It was the game (if anyone remembers) that had an almighty hailstorm during it which turned the whole pitch white. I think it ended 2-2?
  11. Born at the RN hospital, Mtarfa in Malta as my dad was a submariner for 26-years. Lived various Naval places before living for 3 years in Australia when he transferred to the Oz Navy. Came back to England when I was about 9 when he was stationed at the submarine base at HMS Dolphin, Gosport. My dad loved football so much we'd go to Pompey one week - Saints the next. I was bitten by the Saints bug after just a couple of visits to The Dell - and have been supporting them for over 40-years since. My dad, older brother AND younger brother all still support Pompey. I guess I've always been the black sheep of the family ;-)
  12. I think you'll find that's because the Bundesliga kicks off proper on August 9th - a full 8-days before ours - and probably therefore the Schalke boss wants his first choice team playing as much football as possible in order to get fit, etc.
  13. That's the one. I've found the following site to be pretty much spot-on in the past - and they say Cortese has had enough of trying to lure Osvaldo to St Marys. To be honest, the media say us, Man City & Napoli are all serious contenders for his signature. As much as I love Saints to bits - we'll be bottom of that list of 3 clubs for a striker of his ability/ambition : http://www.todomercadoweb.es/mercado-futbolistico/exclusiva-tmw-el-southampton-se-retira-de-la-puja-por-osvaldo-50583
  14. We won't be getting Osvaldo. Not a chance. More likely to be that lad from Udinese.
  15. There's always this one... http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article1546666.ece/ALTERNATES/s2197/Nicola%20Cortese%20-1546666
  16. They tried... once before : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2261430/Nick-Harris-Stein--Well-FIFA-court-agents-banned.html
  17. To be fair - this is a totally different matter. I've no doubt Wanyama is getting paid handsomely at Celtic - and our offer was probably even more generous. The issue here is the gutty greedy agents.
  18. Agree. Steer clear. His agent sounds like a right arzehole & mentions nothing in the SKY article other than £££money£££. No surprise there then.
  19. As usual - it's all one big game isn't it? Saints appear to be the ONLY club to have actually tabled a bid. Celtic craftily release details to throw it out into the open & also add that we've had a bid accepted - alerting other clubs to hurry up & get in there with a bigger offer. Wanyama goes public. Says Celtic have offer accepted... but he's going nowhere until he's talked to us about salary, terms, conditions, etc. Celtic meanwhile are laughing & crossing their fingers that Arsenal or Liverpool get on the blower & at least match our offer... or increase it. Wanyama issues "Saints offered me rubbish terms" statement - thus hoping the big boys come calling later today or tomorrow. It's all about the £££ money £££. Nothing new there. The Premier League is swimming in money this season. Wanyama/Celtic know it - and want a bigger slice of the pie. Move on Saints I say. Lovren was very happy to sign. I'm sure plenty of others will be too. We don't need greedy bastids here.
  20. £10m + ??? Celtic only paid £900,000 for him less than 2 years ago. Sell him to us Lennon you ginger tw4t.
  21. Bring back that shirt!!!
  22. The word "legend" gets used far too frequently these days in the world of football. In the case of Big Ron however - never has it been more fitting to have been labelled with the tag. He really was a club legend in the true sense of the word. RIP Ron. Thanks for the memories.
  23. Nothing to do with living within a "quaint old world". Everything to do with decency...
  24. True - of course. I'm assuming that as we were a "Markus purchase" - his good friend, he'd feel somewhat inclined to ensure we are in good hands - should he depart?
  25. Well one thing's for sure. If NC does go - I'm hopeful that he'd have some say/input/advice to the Liebherrs as regards who to sell to? After all, I'm guessing he feels very responsible for the likes of MP and his coaching staff (for example) - not to just bail out and leave them in the lurch?
