  1. We only win when Stuey is on the pitch so here's hoping..
  2. One of my favourite periods as a Saints fan with Shearer, Rod Wallace and Le Tiss causing havoc almost exactly 31 years ago to the day...
  3. This was a wild game at the old Boleyn Ground. We needed a point to stay up and Le Tiss was at his magical best on the day.I love it when he's lining up to take a freekick and you can hear Spammers fans singing "he's got a fucking big nose" and he plants it in the top corner!..🤣
  4. Great news.
  5. Anybody remember this?, Iain Dowie's celebration lol, he never got to practice it much I guess!..🤣
  6. This bloke may be worth looking at, he's a Skate who has a touch of LeGod about him. Nearly joined our Academy as a kid apparently...
  7. Their current form before Everton wasn't all that either.
  8. This is a massive game for us and one where we have to stop the rot, it's not enough to say well they are in good form so a loss is not unexpected. We traditionally do well at Palace and I don't believe that their squad is better than ours, we really need to get some sort of result here to move forward.
  9. Because we are still within touch of that 11th place I mentioned and there is still time for things to improve this season.
  10. I guess my criteria for judging a manager is usually "are we making progress?" and it is difficult to argue that the team's results are better than two years ago despite having a deeper squad and Ralph having time to implement his plans and tactics. It's well documented that the team suffered a terrible injury crisis last season with limited cover but that is no longer the case now.The performances have been good but not consistantly for a full match and we still miss chances and make errors in defence. Is that the manager's responsibility? , ultimately the answer has to be yes because a team's mentality is under his remit.I happen to think that the current squad should be finishing 11th-14th this season and looking to progress from there. It is still too early to change the manager but the results have to get better because that is how he should be judged ultimately.
  11. Couldn't find a video of Saints winning at Arsenal in the league, I think the last win there was in 1987 but this is a fascinating video and a hell of a result considering they won the Double that year...
  12. I use this one...https://www.11v11.com/teams/southampton/
  13. He comes from a background of privilege and wealth and the Bullingdon Club, (apparently he still shouts "buller" at other members) where he could act as disgracefully as he wanted without any consequenses so it's not suprising that his moral compass has been compromised. He honestly believes that he can lie his way out of any situation without a modicum of guilt or shame.
  14. Anybody else seen The Rescue yet?, it's an amazing story that everyone should watch, incredible courage and ingenuity...https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9098872/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
  15. Well at least five other Saints fans are seeing the same as I am. I accept that his form was pretty dodgy at times in the second half of last season (as was the whole team) but I think he has been ok for most of this one so far.
  16. He was famous for his hard tackles...
  17. I would say that Macca's form generally has been a lot better than it was last season, yes he was poor at Norwich but apart from that he has made some very good saves which has earned points this season and been pretty consistent. I'm not saying that we couldn't do better than him but some of the criticism of him has been a little unfair IMO.
  18. Could be an extended Willy if he is impressive.

    Fat Sam anyone?

Why? what's it say?, I'm not on Twatter.

    Fat Sam anyone?

I'd suggest that the current incumbent is a far better one. This rumour stinks of fish to me.
  21. I'm going for a tight 2-1 win for Saints today and I really hope that AA takes at least one of his chances, I think that Che will score again.
  22. I'd go with this XI...Tino does need a break and I miss KWP at RB. MaccaKWP-Lyanco-Salisu- PerraudRedders-JWP-Romeu-TellaAdams-Armstrong I've got a funny feeling that Ralph will bring Jack in for Bedders.
  23. Ahhh I remember this well, halcyon days indeed!...
  24. Exactly this, not every "near post" shot is one that a GK should definitely save, it was blasted from about 4 yards out. Macca got a little unlucky with the first as well, he never had much time to react and where the ball hit him dictated where the parry was going to go, it would've been classed as a good save had it not fallen straight to Evans IMO.
